I have written about this Latin grubbery a few times now and every time I do I find something new…read moreto talk about. Today I actually came twice! First, because I awoke deciding that I wanted some Sancocho. I'm giving them a 5- because I had the entire experience. It's a tropical root vegetable stew with beef. I was Making it with pork. I'm a rebel like that. Anyway, for a call from brother and his wife that they will be stopping by in two hours. TWO! So after shopping for tropical root veggies - Yucca, Malanga, Llame, Platano Verde, Malanga, Yautia, Patata, Platano Maduro, and calabasa. I picked up some Cilantro and some Culantro! CULANTRO! It's cilantro on steroids. It's specific. And O was looking for it in East Los Angeles and Orange County, CA - and did not find it for years if not decades. Anyway. They got it here!! Anything you need to cook anything Latino/Hispanic recipe - you'll find here. Anyway, I head home and it hits me. The smells I experienced while shopping were stuck in my head. Got home, picked up my mother and my brother and his wife, and headed back. We walked in to find some people start to enter the restaurant section. I will say with confidence they offer over 28 FULL PANS (Chafing dishes) and a few other things. I will not list them because I am going to guess that some items change. Everything was delicious. WAAAY too many to list! And the Tamarind Slushie...WTF!? Tasty!! My one criticism is that I wish the foods were HOTTER than they were. Most of the items - except for the Sancocho - were room temperature at best. (Turn up the heat folks!! Better safe than sorry.) Anyway, check this tropical grubbery and if you go on the weekends - enjoy the LIVE Music. I will definitely be back. The employees are friendly. There's plenty of parking. CHECK THIS PLACE OUT! We'll be back soon too.

Everything we tried was really good and there was quite a variety! It looks like people were also getting takeout from the buffet as well as picking up prepared items. Staff were friendly. If you're looking for something different from chain restaurants, it might be a place you want to check out!

We flew in from FL for a family birthday Party (one year old). On Friday, the girls were baking…read morecookies and tasked us with picking up the cake (and cannoli's).....and cautioned us over and over to be careful (lol). The cake was beautiful, neither of us wanted the responsibility to handle it.....our wives had scared us....one of the awesome ladies in the shop loaded the cake in the back seat of the truck for us. We arrive at the Party site....mission accomplished...sort of. As I exited the Truck, the family dog, a very excitable short haired German Pointer met me at the door. I got out to greet my niece I had not seen yet (leaving the door open) A moment later, I heard DOG and CAKE in the same outburst. You can do the math. Luckily, his damage (and taste of cake) was not a total disaster. My niece was upset, we assured her....we will fix it....not knowing if we could. Back on the road and put in a 911 Call to Whipped Sweet. Getting later in the day...there was no time for another cake. We arrive, Owner says...."this isn't bad...I can work with this, we expected much worse." She says " give me 10 or 15...be right back". The theme of the Cake was "One happy Camper". She sliced away the areas affected by the Dogs sweet tooth and created a river/waterfall of icing down the front of the cake. It looked amazing. She wanted no additional compensation....obviously a gratuity was in order. You just don't get that type of service these days....The cake and cannoli's were delicous.....and the shop had another story to add to the list. Highly recommend this spot...great people, great products. Support your local shops
