    Expresso soft serve

I was visiting Jim Thorpe and stopped by Woods for some ice cream. They have mostly soft serve flavors and a handful of 'hard' ice creams. I opted for the soft serve Expresso. It was very sweet and too soft - the coffee flavor was subtle - not worthy of the 'Expresso" label. It's an average ice cream - I'd rather have a Dairy Queen.

Cute little outdoor spot right by the trains. The thing that sold me was the dig Sunday. They had a Sunday just for dogs it had dog bones in it! I was a little confused on the difference between the artic blizzard and the milkshake it didn't explain what it was but I figured it out- so the artic milkshake uses soft serve ice cream as the base and milkshake a Uses milk as the base. Staff was super friendly and knowledgeable.

I came to Wood's Ice Cream after a nice hike in the Jim Thorpe area. The line was very long, but moved quick. What added to the long line was the train that runs from Jim Thorpe to Reading or surrounding area. The prices are very fair and the service was very polite. I ordered a small vanilla ice cream dish with sprinkles and the ice cream was very smooth and had a good flavor. Next time I am in Jim Thorpe, I will definitely check out again.

Pistachio soft serve and vanilla/chocolate hard ice cream. Both on waffle cone.

Good ambiance and flavors. Service flows fast, personnel is nice. The location is also great!

This would be a one star, but the ice cream is its saving grace. The order/pay/pickup system is the most idiotic I've ever seen, because there isn't one! There were only 3 people behind the counter working at a leisurely pace. For a not very long line, we waited 40 minutes for an ice cream cone. There were maybe 3 groups of people in front of us. On top of this, their espresso machine was "down." The guy also gave water on a jungle-like muggy day, that also contributes toward the extra star. My suggestion to them would be to have separate Windows (they have 3). One or two for ordering and one dedicated to picking up. If they got their ordering system set up intelligently, this would be a delightful stop for delectable treats in a lovely town.

Kevin loved the Peanut butter sundae.. yes, that's a smile!

Sweet Lord, I was in heaven! The strawberry cheesecake overload was unbelievable. My boyfriend was overwhelmed by the soft serve selection, and the orange cream is defiantly a revisit. For dog owners- the peanut butter dog sundae was a hit for our pooch. Prices were more than reasonable and a great selection. Line was huge, and I was super impressed with how the workers handled the stress and upheaval- customer service was excellent!

Average, and could not accommodate a minor request for a milk shake made with chocolate ice cream float.

I've definitely had better vegan treats before, especially for the price point. One thing that really stood out to me was that there were no prices listed near the tarts or baked goods. Normally that might not be a huge issue, but in this case, I think it's important. When the cashier told us our total was $34, I honestly thought he was joking or had accidentally charged us for a small cake or something. We didn't question it at the time and just paid. Once we got to the car, we started second-guessing whether there had been a mistake. I even went online and checked their ordering page to confirm the prices. To my surprise, there was no error - the tarts are actually $17 each. I can usually justify higher prices if the food is truly exceptional, made with rare or unique ingredients, or if part of the proceeds go toward a meaningful cause. In this case, though, I didn't feel the quality matched the cost. There are several vegan bakeries in NJ that offer better-tasting treats at more reasonable prices. At that price point, I truly hope the workers behind the counter are earning well above minimum wage and that their hourly pay reflects what this place charges for a single tart. If customers are paying premium prices, it would be reassuring to know that the staff is benefiting from that as well. Overall, I think listing prices clearly in-store would help customers avoid sticker shock at checkout. Transparency goes a long way.

While we tried calling them but no one picked up, we did manage to stop by their place last nite. My wife picked up a GF carrot cake (for $17) and she said it was very delicious and moist. Also, she bought a cowboy cookie for the road today. While it may be a tad pricey, honestly for a GF joint, it is worth coming in and try. They have other ample selections and the staffs are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely would recommend.

Annie's is a classic old-school local ice cream shop where you can cool off with a variety of sweet treats. Whether you're craving hard ice cream, soft-serve, sundaes, Italian ice, or Arctic Swirls, they have something for everyone. Even though there was only one employee working when we visited, he was friendly, efficient, and provided excellent service. The portions were huge, which definitely made our day. The biggest surprise, however, was the banana pudding. It was absolutely delicious and made fresh to order with real bananas and Nilla Wafers. The only downside is the limited seating since it operates mainly as a walk-up window. There are a few tables out front and one on the side, but on a hot, sunny day, finding a shady spot can be a challenge. Overall, Annie's is a charming local ice cream stop with generous portions, friendly service, and some surprisingly tasty treats beyond just ice cream.
