We recently were in Jim Thorpe and came accross this very quaint candy/ gift shop. The old fashioned shop carries all kinds of sweets, from old fashioned flavored sucker sticks, fudge, gum, nuts, ice cream, and so much more. There are a large variety also of gifts, particulerly of dogs. (magnets, t- shirts, mugs, etc). The woman proprietier was very nice and we got some fudge and some ice slushes since it was a hot day outside. read more

This is the cutest little store. This is my second time here and I love visiting Rainbow's End when I'm in the area. My family and I really enjoy it. We love the nostalgia of the old time candy especially because you can't find it in most stores today and it's still around the same pricing as it was when it was popular. They have other items besides just candy like trinkets and home decor. My husband on the other hand really loved their slushy drinks that he had 2 of them. The owner is very sweet and pleasant. I really enjoy the fudge that they have. The salted caramel is my favorite. My kids really love the store as well. They love all the different gummy's that come assorted in the little plastic baggies on the tables that they can choose from. We can't wait to come back when we're in the area again. read more

Cute shop on the Main Street. They have ice cream in the back and candy and other items in the store itself. The ice cream is Hershey brand and delicious. There's a 12 person limit inside the store for Covid and it would be very crowded with that many people since it's a small shop. They have a nice selection of sugar free candies in additional to the usual full sugar variety. read more

Love the Vanilla Sea Salt Caramel fudge! The Turtle fudge was wonderful too! This was a cute shop of candy and some random memorabilia. They had some vintage candies that you just don't see everywhere, and they also have the old school candy sticks that you can mix and match flavors for under $1. They also serve novelty ice creams and slushies I believe. The store is tight. I felt a little cramped waiting for my kids to decide. So I sent my husband and son out once he did so I could pay with my daughter. Nice little shop for sweet treats. They have a good selection of ice creams and candies, but like a lot of the shops downtown it doesn't take many people coming inside for it to get cramped and hard to move around in. If you are in the area it's definitely worth popping in to treat yourself to something, their selection is quite large and I suspect very few people would be unable to find something they like. read more

I have searched the world for the best chocolate milkshake. It's tough to find a good one. It's not just about the ice-cream. What's also important is the skill of the person making it. The milkshake I had here at Rainbow's End was one of the best I have ever had. My best chocolate milkshake ever was an 8.9 years ago in Conway, New Hampshire. Today's milkshake at Rainbow's End was a rare 8 category shake with a rating of 8.5. The quantity for the price was satisfactory. And the drink was simply enormously tasty with the right combination of milkshake ingredients. I also enjoyed dealing with the very personable proprietor. So my family and I stopped in this past weekend and I have to say, we will never stop in again... the ice cream, we'll that was fine, but the one worker was NOT. We were sitting at the small tables, which are surrounded by little toys and nick nacks...and my 2 1/2 yr old begins to touch some of the TOYS... well needless to say this ignorant man comes up and scolds my wife about allowing such behavior... well I've got a suggestion to the shop owner - move the toys up or they will ALWAYS be played with if directly next to the tables your patrons are sitting at! I mean come on... and the rudeness was just so unacceptable. So sadly we will not be back to spend our hard earned money. Still love this beautifultown but this 1 shop definitely has quite a few things to learn. read more

Decent Ice Cream, which is Hersheys, but the patrons of the place are not very friendly at all. I asked to try one of their chocolate candy ice creams with vanilla, and he gave me a small spoon of strictly vanilla. I said, can you add a little bit of the chocolate candy part so I can sample the taste of the ice cream,, but he said "I'd have to give you half a cup to do that". I found it rude. The only thing better than the milkshakes and ice cream is the banter that goes on back and forth with the owner, especially with those born in other parts of Pennsylvania. He has a sense of humor that some can take the wrong way if they take themselves too seriously. When I was there he was jesting with some school teachers from Pennsylvania and he had the whole place laughing with how quickly he could gauge people and draw them into revealing things that he could later tease them about. When the crowd thinned out we were able to spend some time talking to him about his business and how Jim Thorpe brings business owners that cater to tourists while saving time for family by avoiding "night life" establishments. We enjoyed the visit so much we made sure we returned before going back to Baltimore. read more

The whole town takes you back to the way this used to be and should go back to. And to the last guy from Jersey City most people do not expect more than taste when asking for a sample.
