I ordered 2 grilled chicken super nachos via doordash and I am very disappointed. There was not alot of toppings. Basically I wound up with a box full of dry nachos. Tried complaining on app but it wouldn't give me any money back. I use to order from victors alot but there nachos have are very hit and miss. Sometimes they make them good and others they don't. I used to like vic I used to like Victor's a whole lot more prior to the scamdemic AND now bidenomics. My server was nice, the food was ok but in some ways they haven't bounced back from the scamdemic AND I don't like the prices they charge. I have to ask myself how much of that is bidenomics and how much is greed? Here's my thinking on that, while most places have bounced back with business purdy much back to normal they have not. I love the street tacos! Went in for the first time recently and was not dissapointed.

The food was amazing, there were 3 of us and we got our food fast. Staff was super nice.

For drive-through tacos, this place knocks it out of the park always amazing food and fast, friendly service!!!

I don't know what kind of "taco experience" this place is going for, but I left more confused than full. The tortilla was soggy, the meat was dry (how is that even possible?), and the salsa tasted like someone whispered "tomato" over a bucket of water. Service was slower than a dial-up modem, and when the food finally came, it looked like it had already lost the will to live. This place is a loooooong awaited answer to what's to eat quick, reasonably priced and GOOD on the east side of town!! Nothing fancy, just real, honest, AUTHENTIC Mexican food, taco truck-style fast and GOOD!! I recommend grabbing a menu when you walk in the door and taking a few minutes to check it out to see what you want. Make your decision from the good variety of burritos, tacos, nachos, chimichangas, enchiladas, etc. and combo entrees (they even serve breakfast ALL DAY!!) and order at the counter. You'll get a receipt, and they'll call your number when the order's ready. Make your choice of the salsas (they probably should label them more clearly; my favorite was the creamier salsa verde w/avocado) and enjoy a well-prepared, generous portion of good-tasting food!! I was just going to bring two steak burritos home for dinner later, but was tempted by their super nachos, so placed an order for those as well. Haven't been, so I decided to try out Victor's. The whole restaurant is about 40-50 degrees. My food came out cold and it was just overall mediocre and hardly any flavor. Tried Victors last time I was in Springfield. I really like what they have going on. Over the course of three days I stopped by three times because it was quick easy and with good prices. I tried each of the meat tacos they offer. They have standard sized Crispy shelled tacos and HUGE soft shelled tacos. The shredded beef Crispy was probably my favorite, just really good Taqueria style food. The large tacos are massive, 2 of them would fill anyone! Also tried the Supreme quesadilla with chicken. It was huge and full of flavor. During my 3 different visits my order was wrong twice. They forgot my chips and guacamole on one visit and there was no answer to my phone call to ask about it, so That was a bummer. I told them about it on my trip and they made sure to accommodate me. The last trip I made I was taking a to go order to a vegetarian and ordered only Bean tacos and they gave me beef, also a bummer bc they didn't have anything to eat . If these mistakes had not been made I would give a 4 star review, but it won't stop me from going back! Sorry, I wanted so much to love this place. I ordered chicken tacos and beef tacos. The portion size is about the size if I had made them at home, not really worth 2.50 each, but okay, I guess reasonable enough. Still, I think that's a bit pricey since there was no sour cream or guacamole on them. Just meat, lettuce, tomato and cheese. I guess you need to specify if you want options added. I read people were waiting long periods of time but I didn't experience that. I went inside, which I usually prefer to do. Waited less than ten minutes, which I think is ok. Staff friendly, pleasant, no complaints there either. The 2 stars were for taste. Bland, greasy- no flavor at all to either beef or chicken. That was the disappointing part. Like I said, I really wanted to love this place. The shredded meat with no sauce on these completely greased soaked tacos made this impossible. Maybe other items are better but I really doubt it if they use that awful shredded meat. With 3 other Mexican restaurants within 2 blocks each way I think I'll stick with those choices unless someone can convince me to try Victors again. read more

They don't have napkins available. No napkins on the table, not on the counter, not at the drink station. You have to ask for them from the clerk; pretty ridiculous for a restaurant. Their ice machine has been out of order 2 of the last 3 times I've been here. They don't have quacamole, again very odd for a Mexican restaurant. Their food is fantastic though. I am very very disappointed with Victor's taco shop! We have eaten from this place a couple times. We ordered from door Dash due to the fact that we were trying to be responsible adults. We paid for. Our order in full and expected in good faith that we would receive everything that we ordered. We did not receive our salsa. I know it's not a big deal but when you pay for something you should get everything that you ordered! However when I talked to the individual regarding this situation, he told me that they were too busy and forgot that part of my order. And I should be sober when I place my order. This is not the proper way to run a business whether a person is sober or not. When you place an order regardless if it's through DoorDash or at your restaurant and you pay in full you should get everything you paid for. Giving 4 stars because of less than stellar guac. It's puréed and just kind of blah. HOWEVER, their FRESH, mega-crunchy tortilla chips and *FREE SALSA BAR* more than made up for it. Also, the guac-salsa in the salsa bar is AMAZING! Go for it instead of ordering it off the menu. read more

I got a recommendation from a friend who had tried the fish tacos here. I had to give them a try and they are wonderful! I fell in love with Rubio's fish Taco's out in California and have been very disappointed that they are slow to catch on here in the mid west. Finally gave Victor's Tacos a try. We sat and waited forever for our food to be ready during which it sounded like the cooks were arguing with each other loudly in Spanish. The tortillas for the mini chicken tacos were greasy and bland. As for the chicken it was bland as well. The taquitos were okay. Nothing fantastic- no seasoning on the beef. I should have run away when I saw several signs proudly advertising they now use fresh ground beef. Lord knows what they used before. It's been less than an hour and I'm in the restroom. Enough said. I was so excited to try Victors. I got the 3 Rolled Taquitos, 1 Steak Carne Asada soft taco, 1 Shrimp Burrito, and 1 Grilled Chicken Quesadilla. I was so upset that I spent more than $20 for these four things and it was not good at all. The Taquitos were bland and had absolutely no flavor or seasoning at all. I took one bite off of each of them just to see if they all tasted the same. They did :( The Carne Asada taco was so gross. I did not eat much of this. The "soft" shell was hard in spots and brittle. It was so bland and dry and had no flavor or seasoning. It just tasted like nothing. The Quesadilla was very big which was nice. It had an okay taste and was partially eaten. The Shrimp Burrito was absolutely fantastic!! I was so surprised at how bad everything was and just how good the Shrimp Burrito was. It was huge and packed with serious flavor. I do not like or eat fish or shrimp tacos or burritos, but your menu description sounded so good so I gave it a shot. It did not disappoint.
