I Got Fooled - Don't Let It Happen to You I take full responsibility for signing the contract. Like most people, I trusted what was being handed to me without combing through all the fine print. That trust cost me--and I'm sharing my experience so it doesn't cost you too. Victory Cars Central had me completely fooled. I originally posted about how the Dodge Durango they got me into was my dream car. I thanked Oliver and Laura for their "honesty" and hard work. But the truth is--they were just working hard to get me stuck in a terrible contract, and they knew exactly what they were doing. Here's how it went down: We were originally told our down payment would be $5,500. Then out of nowhere, we were told the bank had flagged the deal because I supposedly entered the last digit of my Social Security number wrong, and now they suspected potential fraud. Because of that, they claimed the bank wouldn't approve the loan unless we put down $8,900 instead. Maybe I did enter it wrong. Maybe I didn't. But we trusted what they told us, and agreed to pay the extra $3,400 without seeing a shred of proof. No email, no official note, nothing from the bank. Looking back, we absolutely should have asked for documentation--but when you believe people are being honest, you don't expect to be lied to. And then came the hidden fees. They slipped in a $4,375 "advertising fee"--for a car that was never even advertised. As I said in a previous post, they showed us the truck before it had even been washed or prepped for photos. There were no online listings, no ads, nothing. So what exactly were we paying for? They also added a $3,500 warranty to the contract--without providing any details. How long is it for? What does it cover? One year? Two months? We were never given a straight answer, just another vague fee buried in paperwork. We put down $8,900 on a 2018 truck priced at $17,500, and somehow walked away with a loan for $551/month for 72 months. That's over $48,000 for a used vehicle. For comparison, a brand new version of that same model goes for about $42,000. So again--where did our $8,900 go? And what really sticks with me is how Laura insisted that I sign everything alone. My husband and my mother were there with me, but she kept them out of the room on purpose. We didn't even talk about the car--I was distracted with personal small talk while she rushed through the paperwork. It was intentional. They didn't want anyone else there to spot the red flags or ask questions. I would never recommend Victory Cars Central to anyone. They prey on people who are kind, trusting, and just trying to get into a decent car without getting taken advantage of. Oliver and Laura are exactly what people fear when buying a car--they smile, they act helpful, and they completely take advantage of your trust. If you're considering this place--don't. I had a very frustrating experience with this used car dealership. The whole process felt like a classic bait-and-switch. They advertised and discussed vehicles that either weren't actually available or were nothing like what was promised when I arrived. It felt like they were just trying to get me in the door with unrealistic offers. The lack of honesty and transparency made the entire experience stressful and disappointing. Scammers- Went to look at a GMC Canyon after seeing the online ad. Here is my response to a follow up e-mail from Gianpoero after wasting my time going out to Victory to see the truck: Hi Gianpiero, Yes I was there this Wednesday, drove the truck and spoke with your team to discuss the purchase. Then I found out the price advertised was not real. Unless I financed, the price went up to 34k. I was told this is because you make so much off the bank. To be honest that is false advertising. I went in offering 23K cash against the 24.5k ADVERTISED price hoping we could meet in the middle and I would come this weekend to pick it up. The GMC Canyon has been on your lot for a few moths as evidence by the flat tire and confirmed by your team. I would think that a 2wd truck in this area would be a tough move and my offer was valid. I mean what did this cost at auction,18K? You are still in a 4-5K profit no? So if you still want the truck off your lot and move it I am available to purchase. My experience has turned into a legal nightmare involving local authorities and state agencies. Bait and Switch Pricing: They advertised a car for $15,600 on AutoTrader. When I arrived, the salesperson (Steve) claimed the price was only for financing and would increase by 25% for cash. This is deceptive marketing at its worst. "Jamming" Unauthorized Fees: Without my consent or disclosure, they "jammed" a $3,498 "Drive Care" service contract into my loan. When confronted, they falsely claimed it was a mandatory lender requirement. FELONY FORGERY: This is the most serious issue. After obtaining my official loan documents from the bank, I discovered the dealership FORGED my signature and falsified the transaction date on the contract they submitted for funding. The signatures do not match my legal ID. I have filed a criminal report with the Nassau County Police (8th Precinct) for Forgery and Identity Theft, as well as formal complaints with the NYS DMV and the NY Attorney General. I did not need financing and was trying to find out what the add on for a used car would be........ he could not tell my "over the phone" what the documentation fee was. I flat out called him a liar. This is a complete scam. Classic example of bait and switch tactics. The listed price on a car I was interested in was 21,000. After discussion and further evaluation of the pricing and "finance" the final price came out to about 54,000 more than DOUBLE the listing price of the vehicle. When asked about where this amount came from we were told that it was from fees, warranty, finance fees taxes. The "fees" and additional cost came out to cost more than the actual listing price of the car. Then when confronted on why is that the listing price, was told that's just 5% which when looking back made no sense. The taxes alone came out to 11,000 and then the hidden fees and surprise fees. Listening and reading to every word, I don't know why they thought I would be willing to pay 54k for a car that was listed at 21k online for a base model car. Might as well buy a brand new 2026 vehicle. Stay away and BE AWARE of this dealership ! I was interested in buying a truck from this place however online shows one price and then when you speak to the salesman that price that they list online does not reflect a 25% down payment. (Very misleading) on top of that I also filed a preapproval application which shows it *will not affect your credit. However, they ran my credit three different times and I did not give them consent. Just a massive waste of time. Salesmen are inattentive, ignorant, and use deceptive pricing schemes (prices online are advertised less a 25% downpayment) to try to get you to pay more than the cars are worth. What's more, cars are generally in worse condition than shown on their website. Looked around online and filled out a quick pre approval on their website for a Dodge Challenger. I got nonstop texts and confirmation emails until I finally walked in to go over some numbers. They spent about an hour getting a number that I wasn't interested in, which is fine. However, I was told right after they would need another 30 minutes to try and get a better number and an insurance quote. At this point I had to run out. I got a text from Jordyn later in the day telling me they found a better number and insurance quote for me and asked me to come in and go over the numbers again. I was hesitant as I didn't want to be stuck there for over an hour again just to see numbers I might not be interested in. I was called and texted repeatedly until finally agreeing to come in again. At this point I was frustrated, wanted the numbers and hoped to make my decision after that. I ended up going in again just for another sales guy to gather the same information they took the previous day and then had me wait another 30 minutes. Keep in mind I was expecting just to hear the "better rates" I was told they had for me. They came back to me saying they needed paystubs to get any numbers and when I asked about the rates Jordyn had told me about and offered to show the texts I was told, "Let's not worry about Jordyn, let's connect here" At this point I walked out of this joke of a dealership. They have no organization and no regard for people's time!! Side note, the prices listed on the website are AFTER downpayment (25%) Would not recommend this place and I am so happy I didn't buy this challenger with broken interior parts from a dealership with poor service. Do not come here. Luis sold me a 2017 honda accord and I waited hours for them to charge me more then what I said I would pay, help me get a loan from a terrible bank who charges a lot of interest, so many problems the car wasn't able to be mine that day because apparently insurance couldn't insure it, so I had to wait for him to DRIVE me my car the next day which put extra mileage on it. The day after that I put a metal ring around where the key goes in the car and it didn't start. Long behold of about 5 days of not driving it I wasn't supposed to do that and the car stopped working because it couldn't read the key (how the hell was I supposed to know, the person who sold me the car didn't even know) the mechanic found out and the metal ring was the problem. The owner JIMMY told me if I didn't get the car back in a day or 2, that he would pay my first month of my car note. After MULTIPLE (around 5 or 6) painful phone calls, to the unprofessional woman who answers the phone and texts to Luis who also doesn't like to answer confrontational texts, I got this long story about how Jimmy had left and "came back" to the dealership within a week. Then my registration took 50 FREAKING DAYS to come to my house. FIFTY DAYS!!!!! The lady never told him I called or anything and when I called him he told me he would call me back and hours later when I kept calling him he finally answered and asked why I kept calling, meanwhile he told me he would call me back. Then I was told the registration would come in the next few days, SIMPLE ANSWER! He never gave me any of the paperwork when I got the car, I had to call for that too for him to simply "email" it to me. I'm a 22 year old female. Definitely got me for my money please do not go here no carfax no paperwork no nothing I don't know if it's because I'm young or whatever but very very bad money hungry people. They had the audacity to offer me a job there. I wouldn't put it past them that i would get extremely underpaid. All of the workers should be ashamed.
