Don't go here.... They gave a nasty, evil scam bill collector they work with who will tell you he is a lawyer and he will throw you in jail. Got hung up on by the office manager Michelle who did not believe me when I told her what the guy at the collection agency did to me and my family. Tried to call back and she refused to talk to me. Very unprofessional. I also asked to talk to the owner and he was supposedly "out of the country" and never called me back to discuss the situation. DO NOT give this company your business! Looked around for a dentist online and was confused when I saw Dr. Barakat was involved with several different dental offices in various locations.. There weren't many reviews except for the Vienna Smiles office.. Decided to not see him for this reason but on a whim a few months later decided to see him.. Dr. Barakat was nice, good demeanor and seemed like a caring guy. The procedure he quoted was over twice what I was quoted elsewhere (four figures more). After the appointment I asked a question and requested follow up but nobody called me. Noticed a similar experience by another Yelper... Abnormally high costs and lack of follow through are deal breakers even if he might be a great doc possibly.. Having your name associated with several other dental offices isn't ideal but with so few detailed reviews and high costs, it is hard to choose this office. To be sure about costs, I looked online and validated the average cost in the area and the other quote I received was in line with the average cost. Charging twice that won't help this business build trust with clients. People usually appreciate fair and competitive pricing and reward those that provide it. read more

My visit at this place was a terrible experience. Firstly, I found out about the place by looking at the reviews, however the reality was totally different. I had a cavity to fix. I called the place to ask for an appointment and I wanted to know how much it would cost. Granted it is hard to give an exact price, but a cavity while it can vary in size is not a strange thing... So, I got a range $180 to $360 max I was told over the phone. The day of my appointment I arrived early to fill out the paperwork, to this point things were fine. However, my appointment was at 2 pm and I was called from the waiting to the back at 2.45 pm. In the waiting area there was a sign indicating that for a yelp review one would get some kind of reward at a popular coffee chain. I have to say that made me a bit suspicious... Once I saw the doctor to whom I provided a panoramic x-ray that I brought with me. She said that to see what is going on she would need a single tooth x-ray, which is fine. After seeing the X-ray she told me that it is a bigger cavity and that in case it would need a root canal she could only start it as they refer to a specialist but that the cavity might actually not be that deep. Ok, so far so good. I then asked about the price of the filling in case all is fine and I just need the filling. She then left the room and told me that the receptionist would come in soon and provide me with a "treatment plan". Well, here comes the surprise. The treatment plan was over $600 just for the filling (without any start of root-canal in case it would be needed). So, this was almost double of what I was told over the phone that the maximum price for a filling would be. Also, I was told that the only material that they use for fillings is composite, there is no option for any kind of metal filling which is much better and durable on a tooth that has a bigger cavity and is in the back. Now, here comes the highlight of my visit. After saying that I do not wish to get a composite filling for $ 600,-- I checked out. At the check out I was charged $ 146,-- !!!! Out of this amount $46 for a single tooth X-ray and $100,-- for the visit!!!! I felt totally taken advantage of as I was charged $100,-- just for finding out that they had only composite fillings and that they don't really know what they are doing and this after having done a lot of research online. I guess if reviews get rewarded they are worth less!!! I had lost a whole afternoon, but I still wanted to take the time now to let others know! read more

Vienna Smiles changes the old stigma of "Ugh, I have to go to the Dentist." I recently had a front tooth crown that came loose while I was on work travel. The team there was able to accommodate me the first Monday morning I was back in town. While most emergency medical appointments will treat with you the "band-aid" fix and make you book six more appointments to return in the following weeks, Vienna Smiles took a holistic approach in treating my old crown. Emily, the lead dental assistant, assessed my bone damage, re-did my 12 year old post, fitted me for a new, more modern crown and recommended a teeth whitening plan before my new crown is put in. All the while she made sure I was completely comfortable through the entire process and I left with a temporary tooth that looked better than the permanent crown I had before. I give Dr. Barakat and his team a 12/10 and highly recommend to anyone in the area looking for a new dentist that they can trust! read more

We LOVE Vienna Smiles! The office staff was friendly and professional. The hygienist was knowledgeable and accommodating to my son. Dr. Bobbio treated my son as she would have treated her own child. My son chipped his tooth and we went to Dr. Bobbio for a 2nd opinion regarding a root canal. Dr. Bobbio explained the complex nature of tooth trauma to us, helped us understand how to monitor for infection, and mapped out the next steps for my son. I got my first and, hopefully, last dental implant here. It is big and yellow, though my teeth are small and whitish. It looks like a big elephant's tooth. It has made me almost as self-conscious as I was when there was just a hole there. I paid cash and it was expensive; now, I am having to look to have it replaced somewhere else. I don't know if this a scientific or artistic matter, but, if you are getting an implant, check the size and color before you let them order! read more

I hesitate to write a bad review. My mother always said if you don't have anything good to say, then say nothing. But she also said knowledge is power, so I suggest to you in this case to do your homework very carefully before you commit to Dr. Barakat. Maybe other folks have great things to say about him and I won't dispute their comments. But It's my sincere opinion that his fees were relatively expensive, and his work ethic, although well intended, was substandard. I say that because he ordered the wrong "snap in" temporary retainer and instead of re-ordering a new one, on fitting day he hastily cut out another of my fake bridge teeth in order for the snap in to fit as opposed to ordering the correct sized piece. The temporary retainer he sold me was 2 times the price ($1,000) then what my eventual other dentist who works in Purcellville Va. Charged. Maybe rent is cheaper in Purcellville, but not that much cheaper. In addition, his implant fee was 40% more than what I eventually paid. As to his regard to his patients: on 1 occasion after a tooth extraction, He told me he would call me that evening to see how I was doing, but he never followed through. No call. I also felt a sense of hostility towards me. But maybe it was me. I am a bit loud and nervous in a dentist chair. Another example of their level of incompetence is I had to call and ask for my insurance check that was sent to him by mistake. It had been there for over a week. No call to tell me. Another example of their lack of customer service and regard, is when I lost my retainer, I asked if they could give me a financial break on a replacement. His Ofc mgr said she'd check with the Dr., but she never got back to me. Nothing. I felt like they didn't care. My opinion: in summary, he seemed to me to be hostile, uncaring, overpriced and generally not very good. That's how I truly feel. read more
