I've been to NNQ many times since 2017, but this visit feels different, the ambience feels brighter than ever, with big spoons, forks, and knives. Also involving a touch of Vietnam Culture and household elements like flooring, fireplace, and greenery. The outside area contains lots of tables and chairs to feel, the wind doesn't interfere with anything in the restaurant, though inconsistent chairs are used, it's most likely different to have an outside feel. Contains a mix of nature and modernism. Every table and chair contained sets of cutlery and a serviette. What is interesting to note is that the amount of posters up is seldom, this was most likely on purpose for customers to focus on the culture and not money. For previously being a bank building, NNQ changed it for the better.
The Staff were friendly, like a family member you haven't seen in a while. They were guiding, understandable, and has a good work ethic. They also have a few habits like refilling service water without asking, going to the table at appropriate times, and using their hands for gestures that add to the culture. Requesting for items like bowls and plates can't be more easier, it doesn't feel awkward, it feels swift. The Service didn't feel commanding or strict, it felt casual and well guided.
The food was served well, with portions of fair size and good price to quality ratio.
The first dish, the Crispy Chicken and Broken Rice, was a good mix of very charred chicken, flaky rice, and mix of that soup contained a harmonious feel. The chicken was big, but not too big to match with the amount of rice to create equal portions, the chicken screamed with good taste from all levels, and it was like my mum cooked it on a Friday night. The broken rice, equally as good, after flattening it with my spoon, it was easy to control it and portion it well, what most other restaurants fail to do, the amount of rice mixing with every chicken bite adds up. But these foods of the plate are only good because of it's glue, the soup and spring onion. OMG, these change the taste substantially. The soup adds a juicy feel, making the chicken taste lively once more and makes it easier to flatten and spread, adding to control. The spring onion, equally as good, containing that delicious crunch to the chicken, and emphasises the flavour. Overall, the Crispy Chicken and Broken Rice has a harmonious feel of flavours.
The second dish, the Chicken Pho, contains amazing mix of lots of foods all in one dish. Firstly, the way it was served was that it was a fully filled large bowl still steaming somehow. The noodles weren't round, but rather thick, this makes it easier to catch and contains more taste. Because there's so much soup, the noodles can easily moisturise with it, resulting in a juicy feel. The vegetables equally as good, giving a strong crunch. Had the veggies absence in the dish would make the pho drowned out. The chicken was the weakest point in my opinion, of course it wasn't dreadful, but it's unique taste was drowned out by the soup, when I tried to eat the noodles, it tasted like what it was supposed to be, juicy, slurpy down, sucks in the throat. However, the chicken just tastes like blocks of meat being split. But that's just a nitpick as the chicken still stands better than most other chicken soups out there. And the soup itself was astounding, it has a unique taste to it that matches the food description and Vietnam Culture. Overall, the Chicken Pho was great, with it's three ups and one average evening the soup, containing uniques ways to display taste to the mouth.
Overall, the Chicken dishes has similarities and differences, containing lots of other foods to give either a harmonious feel of homemade goodness, or a way to display taste to slurp, bite, and try.
In Conclusion, NNQ is a wondrous restaurant with lots of food to try, presented with culture, greenery, and legitimatise, with awards shown at the front, stating to the customer that this place has standards. The service really shows, with good improvisation and understanding to customers, with the food on par with my top 5. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a unique feel of Vietnamese Food, to try options uniques, tastes that are different, and a place that gives food for you, not money.
