My friends have been er been here, so I felt this was the best location especially since one of us is Chinese from Malaysia. It was nice because I was able to park at the Hilton honors spaces when available. At check in, Vincent was soft spoken, and courteous. He made sure my room was feather free as requested due to my asthma. Our room was ready when we arrived. Great since we were hungry, and we could drop off our luggage in the room before heading out. I always check round with my blacklight to see the cleanliness of a room. But the only reason I didn't give a five star this time was before I even checked with my blacklight, the curtains were open, and we saw dust caked on the dresser, lamp stand, and too of headboards. Unacceptable since two of my friends have allergies, and as an asthmatic I am allergic to three different dust mites. I called Vincent at the front desk and he immediately sent someone up. Now the train I have a four star and not a there is because of Linda from housekeeping. She said she understands because she has brothers who are asthmatic. When she saw how dusty the room was she also was appalled by the condition. Linda did a great job. Although we left a small to in the room for whoever will be cleaning next, we left something extra for Linda at the front desk. That being said the bathrooms were clean. Beddings clean but bed a little too hard for my liking. The other gals told me it was fine for them. We were going to try their dim sum restaurant downstairs, but we were pretty dim summed out, so we tried something different nearby.

I'm praying one day they come back. The convention was held at the Sheraton San Gabriel which was the perfect size for a smaller con without being too crowded and without being too oversized. There's free parking if you're okay walking from the 99 Ranch Market plaza or if you find it in the close by residential area. Looks nice inside, the panel rooms were smaller, but accommodate the smaller attendee population too. Internet connection for the event was fine. Acoustics in the ballroom and panel rooms, along with AV set up was good. Lobby area and some just standard hotel backdrop were perfect for photos. Love that it's walking distance from lots of delicious food options. Staff were friendly and venue was nice and clean. Restrooms were clean each and every time.

Overall the hotel is definitely clean and I guess that's why people have bigger events there. We didn't opt for room cleaning but the staff were responsive when we needed more towels or toilet paper, etc. Instead of the $20-24 for parking, we decided to park in the neighborhood. If you go to the San Gabriel Police Station, you must pay for a permit to park overnight, you register by your license plate. We were able to find residential street parking close to the hotel. We had lounge access on the 6th Floor, which was nice to have a place to hang out and grab some drinks and snacks. They breakfast and afternoon Hors d'oeuvres were ok, the hot items seems like stuff they can easily heat up, but not bad. The best thing is they have a self-serve coffee machine which was pretty good. The reason I'm not giving the place 5 stars are issues that others have reviewed about the wifi and tv connectivity. We opted for the "enhanced wifi" which was included because of my wife's Bonvoy status and it still seemed to lag at times, and there were times she or I had to shift to hotspots in order to take Zoom Meetings. The tv was also lagging and I reset it myself (unplugging and replugging some of the cords), but the wifi even when I told the front desk, they said they were working on it, but it didn't seem to get that much better. It is a decent sized hotel, but if you're planning to do business while you're there, I hope they improve that part.

4.6/5 -- Apparently I Came to Montebello to Sleep, Eat Waffles and Consider Golf…read more Home2 Suites by Hilton -- Montebello, CA Stay: 9/8/26-9/10/26 This was easily the best hotel I stayed at during my Greater LA trip, which surprised me because I arrived expecting "perfectly functional Hilton." Instead, Home2 Suites apparently decided to operate a small republic of comfort next to a golf course. First, the place understands both introverts and extroverts. You can self-check-in and reach your room with minimal human ceremony, or deal with the friendly staff if you actually enjoy speaking to mammals. The lobby is modern, clean and relaxed without looking like somebody hired an interior designer specifically to intimidate people wearing shorts. Across the street is a pond, palm trees, the Montebello golf course and driving range. If you can get a room facing that direction, DO IT. My window view looked like Southern California had briefly cleaned itself up for a brochure. After temperatures hit roughly 104°F, the complimentary shaded underground parking also became less an amenity and more a humanitarian service. My room was huge, clean and unusually comfortable, with a kitchenette, sink, microwave, genuinely large refrigerator and plenty of living space. The bathroom has a sexy minimalist thing going on, with a roomy glass shower. The bed and pillows? Dangerous. I checked in around 3 PM, got comfortable, started watching TV, skipped dinner entirely and eventually fell asleep around 11:30. I had apparently ceased being a tourist and become a house cat. The TV also allows access to streaming options including YouTube, Apple TV and Max-type apps, although the regular television channel selection is fairly basic. Then breakfast happened. Breakfast runs 6-9 AM, criminal hours for civilization, but this was easily the strongest hotel breakfast of my Southern California trip. Eggs, sausage patties, potatoes, pretzel-style breakfast buns, pastries, bagels, cereals, cheeses including Swiss, Pepper Jack and cheddar, yogurt, fruit cups, oatmeal and a small botanical garden of oatmeal toppings: granola, dried banana, cranberries, brown sugar, almonds and coconut. The oatmeal itself deserves recognition because it remained oatmeal rather than hardening into municipal infrastructure. Then there are the waffles. You can construct your own, and apparently surrender all remaining nutritional dignity by applying chocolate chips and red-white-blue sprinkles until breakfast resembles an elementary-school election celebration. Fresh fruit toppings/compotes were available too. Coffee was strong and hot; juices included apple, orange and strawberry-kiwi. I also appreciated seeing both regular milk and oat milk. The breakfast room is attractive and comfortably seats a decent crowd, although mornings can become LOUD. Apparently several guests awaken at 6:30 AM already possessing complete conversational agendas. The gym is legitimately useful rather than the usual hotel punishment chamber containing one treadmill and a dumbbell somebody stole from physical therapy. There are multiple cardio machines, weight equipment and dumbbells reaching about 75 pounds. Very clean and nicely arranged. The indoor pool area was clean, although visually I found the pool itself rather dainty and uncharming. It exists. It contains water. Congress need not investigate further. Now for the deductions. The walls are thin. One neighbor's phone alarm went off around 5 AM. Another apparently believed television should continue into the wee hours. On the opposite side, somebody snored like an overfed cow negotiating a mortgage. One night around 3 AM I also caught the smell of marijuana from outside. That happened only once, but congratulations to the nocturnal skunk delegation. The shower was the other weakness. Water pressure was maybe 6/10, and after roughly ten minutes the floor began backing up because the drain moved with the urgency of California freeway construction. It took around 15 minutes afterward to clear. Yet despite these quirks, I couldn't punish the hotel much. The room was too spacious, the bed too comfortable, breakfast too good, parking too useful, gym too competent and that golf-course view too peaceful. So mathematically I land around 4.6/5, which I'm happily rounding to 5 stars. I would absolutely stay here again. Next time I'm bringing golf clubs because staring at the Montebello course and driving range from my room without playing it started feeling like unfinished business. Home2 Suites Montebello wasn't perfect. It was better than that: comfortable, useful, occasionally ridiculous, surprisingly peaceful and the kind of place that made leaving feel mildly inconvenient. Our room faced the rear of the hotel overlooking the golf course and consisted of the beautiful lake. The room was spacious and clean, and fully equipped with things that make you feel like you're at home: plates, cups, bowls, utensils, + a full sized fridge. Bonus points because complimentary breakfast is offered daily. Hours of operation M-Fri are from 6am-9am. Weekend hours are from 7am-10am. This is absolutely THE BEST complimentary breakfast spread I have ever had the pleasure of taking part in. Granted, most places I've stayed @ doesn't offer this. Here you will find a waffle station with all of the toppings you could imagine, eggs, ham, sausage patties, assortment of cereals, yogurt, fruit cups, and fresh fruit. While I am not sure how great the options are for a vegetarian standpoint but I did notice meatless patties. My complaints: 1)The lighting within the room are positioned horribly. Whether you decide to use the restroom light or the ones located in the dining|kitchen area as a nightlight, they are both extremely bright making it difficult to sleep. My toddler and I struggled to sleep soundly due to us being sensitive sleepers. 2)Someone triggered the fire alarm during our stay. Walking down 6 flights of stairs with a toddler is already tough but adding in groups and groups of other patrons caused for more traffic than I was ready for. Once we made it back to the lobby we were told it was a false alarm. **insert EYE ROLLS emoji** 4 stars overall. Our stay was comfortable and parking was never an issue. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing and put a real damper on what should have been an incredible night. Check-in begins at 3PM, and we arrived around 5PM after needing to get ready for our wedding reception. Our room still wasn't ready and we were told it was "awaiting inspection." There was no ETA for when it would be available, we were simply told that someone would call or text us when it was ready. This left us without a room when we needed it most. Luckily, my in-laws' room was ready, so we had to use their room to get ready. We also had to leave our luggage with the bell desk and specifically asked that it be delivered to our room once our room became available. After our wedding reception, we returned to the hotel around 11:00 PM. We had received no call, text, or email letting us know our room was ready. I went to the front desk myself and was told that it was, in fact, ready. At that point, however, they couldn't even confirm whether our luggage had been delivered. We went to our room and, unsurprisingly, our luggage was not there. It was eventually brought up to us, but by then we were standing around waiting for our belongings when we should have been getting ready to head to our after party. After an already long and emotional wedding day, this was the last thing we needed. Unfortunately, the problems didn't end there. We had several items from our wedding reception that the hotel agreed to hold for us, which we initially appreciated. When we checked out the following day, we were told that everything they were holding for us had been returned to us. We trusted that information and left. Luckily, we were still in the area at our next stop when we realized we were missing items. We had to turn around and drive back to the hotel to retrieve them. When we arrived, they had several additional items that had been forgotten and not given to us the first time. Mistakes happen, but the combination of everything that went wrong... from not having our room ready at check-in, to not communicating when it was ready, to our luggage not being delivered, to having to return to the hotel because our belongings weren't all returned, made for an incredibly frustrating experience. What makes this especially disappointing is that this was our wedding night. We chose The Langham because we wanted to celebrate such a meaningful occasion there and hopefully have a hotel that would hold special memories for us for years to come. Instead, when I think about our stay, I'll remember it as the hotel that added unnecessary stress to an already exhausting day and didn't make our night any easier. For a hotel of this caliber, I expected a much higher level of communication, attention to detail, and service. Unfortunately, I cannot say that our experience lived up to that expectation, and at this point, I don't see ourselves returning for future anniversaries.

When we returned around 7 p.m., our room still had not been serviced. If you're traveling on a budget, be aware of the additional fees. The website listed parking at $34 per night, but we were charged $50 per night because of an additional hold for potential room service charges. That unexpected cost was frustrating, especially during an already stressful medical trip. We had originally booked the hotel for a week but decided to check out after just one night. Based on our experience, I would not recommend staying here.
