It was also super fun that everyone in the group was visiting from out of town and many of us loved doing food tours in other cities so we got to swap food tour stories and whatnot. Here's a list of our stops and what we had: La Fogata Grill - taco and margarita Del Charro - enchilada with both sauces and margarita San Francisco St Bar and Grill - half of a green chili cheeseburger and margarita Senor Murphy Candymaker - various sweet treats Everything was absolutely phenomenal - I really can't pick a favorite dish because they were all so yummy. There were no privacy blinds, only wooden shutters, and the artwork provided enough clutter to fill the room just in case you forgot your own luggage. Breakfast was the big show! Most of what we were served was delicious. For an extra $45 per person, you'll be given whatever the kitchen feels like making that morning... no choices, no allergy considerations, and not even a glass of water. Instead, you're handed an herbal infusion and expected to sip with gratitude while waiting 90 minutes for your dessert tart. But our group's disappointment simply must have meant we didn't understand the "magic" of the experience. In the end, Casa Culinaria is the kind of place that confuses ambiance with hospitality and is more interested in curating an image than creating a welcoming stay. The air in Santa Fe is fabulous and one a 2 seated open air, human powered tricycle this is the only way to go. I stopped by one and struck up a conversation with 71 year old peddle/driver, Pete, by asking if Pedicab was hiring. Great guy, originally from the NYC area and transplanted to Santa Fe only one years ago. His knowledge of the area, rich history, and it's people was most impressive. We talked for roughly 20 minutes and his vim and vigor for life, health, and continued gathering of knowledge was inspiring. Imagine, 71, yes a former biker & runner, but able to a 21 geared tricycle with as much as 350-600 pounds of cargo is jaw dropping. Remember, when you accept a ride, please, generously tip these bubbly tourist driven enthusiasts.

Once I checked out of my hotel, I needed to kill some time before I got on the Rail Runner train. I had seen a colorful Pedicab earlier when I took the city tour and it looked like fun. So after that tour and a visit to the Crepes Shop nearby, I was feeling pretty good but not like I wanted to hike all the way down to the Santa Fe Depot for the train. That's when I saw a blond guy sitting in a Pedicab parked in Santa Fe Plaza. I asked him how much he charged and it was one dollar per minute, That seemed affordable so I hopped on. Soon we were passing through the beautiful Plaza and on our way through the Railyard District. It was so nice taking in all the sights from an open air carriage. The driver was nice enough to stop while I admired and took pictures of a church with a lovely rose garden. Soon enough, we had arrived at the Depot and the ride was only $12. The driver had used his little step stool to help me get down and forget to take it when he left. So I called the Pedicab office and told them I was leaving his step stool with the Tourist Info office there. The gentleman did come back to fetch his step stool. This company does an excellent job, hire wholesome, honest-looking drivers and give visitors a fresh air way of enjoying the sights. According to their website, they also do "tours of Canyon Road Galleries (many of the drivers are artists), the Railyard District, and tours of nightlife hotspots (some of the drivers specialize in nightlife). Tours can be of any length you choose." Santa Fe Pedicab operates from 9 am to 10 pm seven days a week from May to November. Call for a reservation or ask your concierge to make arrangements. Usually there is a Pedicab somewhere around the Plaza area, which is where I found mine. 5 YELP STARS for environmentally-friendly pedal power in beautiful Santa Fe.

He was very attentive to everyone in the hotels needs. He walked up to me personally several times during my stay to make sure things were going well. Drury Plaza is a steal for a stay. The food was typical hotel food but reasonably priced. You also get free drinks and food at happy hour time. The valets offered a warm welcome that set the tone for our entire stay and the front desk check in was friendly and efficient. In fact, every single staff member we came into contact with was an absolute delight. From the manager who we encountered each afternoon and always took the time to engage with us, to the awesome lady with the funky makeup who served the complimentary afternoon drinks. Everyone we came into contact with was lovely, even the lady bussing tables was a delight. Our room on the 2nd floor was ok, it was very long and narrow and despite having plenty of sq ft, the layout made it feel small. The bathroom was decent and the linens, towels and amenities were a good quality. Each day at 5.30pm the hotel offers complimentary drinks and snacks. We checked it out once; the cocktails, although served with a big smile, were cheap and sugary (as expected). The food (pasta and baked potatoes with fixings, hot dogs and popcorn), wasn't to our taste but many of the guests with children appeared to be making a full dinner out of them, so that is definitely a great feature for families on a budget. The location is really good, no more than a 7 min stroll from everything in the historic center of Santa Fe. I would recommend this hotel for family road trips and business travelers on a tight budget. The staff make this hotel a place you should consider if you're ever coming to Santa Fe.

We had two beds and they were so comfortable and the linens were fabulous. The wall hangings and paintings were gorgeous. The bathroom was adorable and had pretty New Mexican tile. Even the carpets and rugs were beautiful. They do have a restaurant and room service. They have a complementary breakfast cooked to order which is something I have never seen before. Unfortunately we were so tired the next day we missed the breakfast, but we will definitely book another stay in this hotel. The reception area is beautiful and has lovely couches and sitting areas. The paperwork in the rooms is extremely thorough and will tell you everything you need to know, from room service to if you have difficulty parking your car to nearby restaurants and sightseeing. I did not read all of the paperwork when I first got to the hotel and in the morning I called for coffee to be delivered to my room. I later saw that coffee is actually set out for guests in the reception area so the woman who brought me the coffee really only did it out of kindness. The hotel is actually quite a large, sprawling complex, much deeper that what might be assumed when pulling in. We got there mid-afternoon so could park rt in front of our first floor room. I hadn't even thought about that but my creaky knees were happy and quite relieved to only hv to haul my wee bag up 7 steps or so. Check in was easy, if a bit crowded, as a lot of regulars like to show up a bit early too. The doorman was a very polite young man and everyone made us feel welcome. The older gentleman at the counter was a font of information And made sure we knew abt the Happy Hour Short and sweet Whatever you do: try the biscochitos! (The official NM state cookie, fyi - for a reason - when done right, and these definitely are!) Everything was very clean Even with all the Christmas decorations and greenery out There's an excellent restaurant on site And when they say there's "a bit of a kick", and shd you be a wuss like me, order the spicy on the side. Staff was very considerate abt this. And breakfast is pretty good too! And it was so easy to walk to everything, stuff I usually don't get to see bc I'm usually on the other side of town.
