Overall, it's been a good experience but there are so many things that make this place not worth the price tag. Pros: Location- Great spot and walkable to so much. Tenants- good people and high probability of making friends. Young professionals, dog lovers Thick walls: I rarely hear my neighbors -- very, very rare. Aesthetics: the apartments themselves look really nice Washer/dryer: in unit and actually good quality. I've had some awful laundry units in apartments but these are legit and work well. Cons: Break ins: I am not exaggerating when I say tenants are constantly getting their bikes stolen, it's a monthly occurrence at least. (Theres bike storage in the garage for tenants ) Storage in the apartment: it's crazy how much planning did not go into the actual apartment. For example: my pantry is a closet that has zero shelves....my bedroom closet didn't have a full hanger rack when I moved in. Little things that make zero sense. Some kitchens barely have a drawer for silverware. Things that you may not notice while doing a walk thru but notice once you move in. No AC or ventilation: this is common in Seattle, I get it but please pay attention to what direction your apartment faces. I face west and live in a loft. Heat rises. It is miserable hot. It can be 70 degrees outside but 78 inside because of the lack of airflow. Even with an AC unit (these help but you better keep all the shades down and keep it running ALLLL day/night - plus depending on your setup, you may have to move furniture around to use an AC unit) The complex has AC units available to rent ... it isn't even that hot yet and it's already hard to get my bedroom (upstairs) under 72 degrees by 9pm. The complex should offer free AC units with how hot these apartments get. When it's nice/window season, you may not want to open your window because of how loud the road is. Even on the 4th floor, if you leave your balcony door/windows open, you will wake up from traffic/buses/people on 24th and 65th. It's not quiet...at all. Amenities: these have gotten better but still not great compared to what you can get at other places. They have done some work on the rooftop but it's still just fine. No gym, TVs aren't great, etc. The building itself needs new carpet/fresh paint on the walls. Look at the stairwells. Yes, I'm being picky but for the price, it should look better. As a whole, these apartments are fine but overpriced for what they are. You are paying for location and a "good looking" apartment. For the price, they should come with AC units, have more amenities, and updates in the actual building. Management and maintenance are good, I haven't had any issues there. This review isn't meant to bash BPL but give future residents a heads up and an honest expectation of what it's like to live here. I wouldn't choose an East (am sun) or West (pm sun) facing loft apartment. Seriously, too hot. I bet south facing is your best bet (less busy road, no direct sun). Lofts are cute but I'd suggest a flat. Hope this helps!

That doesn't add up. Both of those statements cannot be true. If the goal is "to provide the best possible experience for anyone we interact with, whether they end up leasing with us or not" then creating a prospect file on anyone who calls is not going to make everyone happy. What I didn't mention earlier is that texting me out of the blue several weeks later is seriously betting on a long shot. Good odds at being a nuisance, on a long shot hope. Most people looking for housing have gotten their situation settled by that long of a time period, even if they were in the past an interested party. It's still a selfish move, even if you're contacting old and stale prior CONSENTING leads. Perhaps a review of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act is in order.

I also appreciated that they would give a heads up on repairs or inspections well ahead of time so we were informed. I lived in the A building and the space itself was spacious and cozy for a studio apartment. My least favorite part was...like many people have mentioned, the walls are super thin and if you're sensitive to noise, it can be really difficult to sleep depending on what your neighbors are doing. Even if your upstairs neighbor was just walking, it would sound like they were lifting weights or dropping things. During my time here, there were multiple instances where people were yelling/arguing and you could hear everything which was not pleasant. I know this was out of management's control and they could only do so much. Along with that complaint, there were also many outages that would happen which is inconvenient if you work from home and they hiked up laundry prices quite a bit.

Then they kept delaying our moving date saying there was an administrative error on their side, but that we had nothing to worry about -- all that just to cancel our lease without much explanation more than three weeks into the process. More than a month have passed that they received our deposit and I'm waiting for a refund. This company made me waste precious time and funds to find an apartment, assuring all along that I had one. I had to delay my move because of them.

I've had only 2 issues in my apartment that maintenance was quick to take care of. Would I live there again? I would. However, the 2 stars are for the management. Every interaction with them (apart from when I signed on & maybe one other time) that I've had wasn't always a pleasant one. Few months after I moved in, I got permission to park my E-bike in the garage with a lock. However, it got stolen. Asked if they can thoroughly check the camera footage to which they did review but in the end, they advised that I file a police report & that only the police can check the footage. Fair. But of course, months gone by & police never came (expected). I once again reached out to the front office pleading if they were totally certain that there's no footage of who stole my e-bike (last present my dad ever gave me before passing, btw). After pleading with them, I got a response along the lines of , "If the bike was that important to you, then why would you park it there?" Another time was when I took my dog to the roof to potty. He accidentally escaped through the fenced door as I opening it & totally ran down the flight of stairs out of confusion. I came after him but unfortunately, another neighbor who was coming up the steps with his dog (who is dog reactive) has to rush himself down to avoid my dog. He then reached out to management under the notion that I was just letting my dog run around. Management reached out to me & I then gave them a thorough explanation of what actually happened. Instead of brushing it off as, "Oh, accidents happen", they still put blame on me as if I did it all on purpose. Totally ignoring my explanation of an accident. The last issue I faced with them was when we were moving out. They hired a new person at the time who was actually super nice. Unfortunately, she gave me an inaccurate info. To be fair, I should I have thoroughly read the instructions on moving out. But to keep it short, I addressed this with this person & thought we found a solution. I pretty much moved out at a certain time thinking I could avoid unnecessary charges. That wasn't the case at all & I couldn't prove what was told to me because it was all verbal. So in the end, I had to pay 2k+ for an apartment I was no longer staying in all because of false info. They might respond to this with their own explanations & whatever but we went back & forth with this last issue for weeks and weeks. I couldn't even find a solution with the higher ups because of course they'll back up their workers. So with that said, DEFINITELY HAVE EVERYTHING IN WRITING. Other than that, I will also say the maintenance crew were ALWAYS nice. Always greeted us with smiles & hellos. We became familiar with them. The others in management don't really greet you at all, just glare until you talk to them. Didn't really feel inviting. I think only Jada was nice but even then, doesn't have that warm welcoming spirit that other apartment offices have. Still a great place to live as long as you have everything down in writing! Because again, they do maintain this place! Hard to find that in Seattle.

I loved the layout of my apartment. For the price, I'd say it was beyond reasonable. It would get very hot during the summer time and cracking open the window didn't do much without a cross breeze. Maintenance always answered my requests within hours and they were there to fix/help sometimes the same day. The location is great and there are many walkable places in the area. Even with the occasional drifter screaming obscenities, they typically keep to themselves. They do hold track meets across the street during the spring and the blanks were loud enough to scare my dog, so we'd bop on over to the beach to get away from the noise. The rooftop was my favorite place as it has a great view of everything. There are some residents that aren't considerate and won't pick up after their pet at the dog relief area which I know the staff had tried notifying every registered pet owner to do so. All in all, I miss living in this apartment and would gladly return if my life so happens to lead me back to Seattle one day.
