My mother had contacted a different HVAC company to come clear her dryer pipe for clogged lint and a bird's nest. It was a constant worry for me that her house was at risk for a dryer fire. When we called the other company in Sept 2025, they said they would be by in a few days to give a quote. They never showed up, never called back. So this week, at my insistence, she called Pointon H & AC. One day later they came to view the situation and give a quote. Instead, J.T. Pfaff saw that the problem was a bird's nest, removed the bird's nest, tested that the pipe was clean, and charged nothing. Even leaving a calendar for my mother, in the Christmas spirit. He went above and beyond calling me at 10am telling me, he would possibly have it fixed that day but I should get one more day. 7pm rolls around and my truck is fixed and I'm back on my way home. I had a scheduled service call. Electrician hadn't showed up 2 hours after appointment was…read morescheduled for. I called to checkin and see what time they are looking at so I could refigure my schedule. I was told by the person answering the phone that they were one van down and running late. I understood, but I also needed to have an idea on when I needed to be on location for the service and was trying to get a ball park so I could re-notify my tenants and so that I could be available to meet the electrician. Instead of offering me a new time window, the gal on the phone was very rude and began to lecture me on how service calls work. I told her I understood that and didn't need her condescending comments that I was just trying to plan. The gal then hung up on me. Needless to say, I have a different electrician coming in this afternoon who was more than happy to help. I really wish my original electrician didn't retire!! I will miss him! I have been in the apartment industry for over 17 years and have never been treated so rudely by a company. What matters most to me is making sure that my tenants are taken care of by a respectful and reliable company. Schedule changes are a necessity in business, however when that occurs one would think a company would have a good communication plan in action so that all parties can be properly notified....and a company certainly should be polite to their clients.
