My wife and I requested a pickup at about 10:30pm from a bar downtown and we were quoted 20 minutes until pickup. After 30 minutes, we had to leave the bar and were stuck outside. After calling and being told they were too busy to answer the phone, we texted and the driver said he was on his way. 10 minutes later STILL stuck outside, we called again and they did not answer again. We immediately ordered a Lyft and were able to get a ride in 10 minutes. There is a reason these companies are going out of business and this incident is exactly why. No tracking, no accountability. Save your money and your time and use a rideshare app. These guys are awful. read more

This company is a mixed bag. Sometimes they are good and other times they are bad. When I have had good experiences they were great. But there were three times that I remember where I requested a cab late at night from the bar to my house and they never showed up. Each time I ended up walking the 3.2 miles to my house at 12am. So I think my rating is fair based on my assessment. read more

I needed to get from Poulsbo to SeaTac for a very early flight after my previously scheduled arrangements fell through. When I called Viking Cab to request a last minute ride to the airport, my hopes were low but Mike and Mark went above any beyond to make sure Viking Cab could get me to the airport! Mike answered my call and spent considerable time coordinating with drivers to find a way to accommodate my trip. Mark came onto duty just to pick me up and drive me at 3 am!! I made a reservation with Viking for p/u at our home and p/u at a restaurant in downtown Winslow, Bainbridge Island - these guys were awesome - they arrived on time (actually a few minutes early) at our home and on time at the p/u location in town - thank you Viking, you folks are fantastic and we'll be using you from now on. BTW: there are very few Ubers on the island, and its difficult to hail cabs as there aren't that many either - using Viking's reservation system is the best way to get around with out having to drive! read more

I called Viking Cab Co from Vancouver, Wa, Saturday (Dec 1) afternoon, desperate for someone to pick me up at the hotel, drive me to the Pacific Surgery Center, Poulsbo, Wa, then stay in the building for the duration of the operation, checkout time and a drive back to the hotel. Mark Haynes was my saving grace from when I first called Viking Cab, from his calm demeanor on the phone, assuring me that Viking would be able to set aside this time slot of 4 hours or more. So, with this arrangement be confirmed and settled, I drove north to Poulsbo, confident in knowing I was in good hands. Monday morning (Dec 3), Mark arrived at the hotel early, waiting for me, drove me to the surgery, stayed for the duration, then drove me to Walmart for my prescription, finally dropping me off at the hotel, and at a set price which was incredibly reasonable! Cab did get me to my destination on time. However, the driver continued on and on about how inconvenient it was for him like he was doing me a favor. Then he DID NOT use the meter. My wife and I have done a ton of traveling for work and take a ton of taxi's. We were almost on the edge of buying our first car after an earlier taxi experience with Taxi and Tours. We learned about Viking Cab Co because our driver with Taxi and Tours would not stop bad mouthing them, all while providing us with the worst Taxi we have ever had, including NYC and Chicago, which if you have not taken a taxi there, is really really bad. I tried Viking this morning going from my home to the ferry. $26 with Taxi and Tours. $22 with Viking Cab. I was picked up in a clean car with an outstanding driver. The ride was very enjoyable, I felt very safe and comfortable. The driver was following all the traffic laws to the best of my knowledge. I tried to ask the driver about all the bad mouthing coming from the other company and he made a joke and declined to discuss further stating that it was not an issue and he would rather not be involved with it. I really enjoyed the conversation after, he taught me a bunch about Bainbridge; "The Island" as he called it, and was able to recommend a few places for me to check out. For as long as my work has be here I will be a Viking Cab Co customer. The best Taxi trip I have ever had, in the same town I had my worst, so odd but cool! read more

Had a fantastic experience with these guys. Very friendly and flexible customer service with professional/nice drivers. Made an appointment for pick up at my house to take us down to Poulsbo for the Fourth on the Fjord. Driver came and rang the doorbell in a nice pair of jeans and a tie. He politely helped with the stuff we were carrying and got it all situated in a brand new Fusion Hybrid. Car was clean, equipped with Wi-Fi (didn't use it, obviously), and the driver even offered us free bottled water. All in all, I'd say the other companies around Kitsap had better start upping their game...these guys are on-point and ready to raise the bar. Well done! read more

I flew in on a same day flight from Kansas for a medical emergency of a family member in a hospital in Port Angeles. I got stranded by Lyft and Uber late at night in Silverdale, still 90 miles from my final destination. Exhausted, emotional, and desperate I began calling cab companies. No one answered until I called Viking. It was Matt. He was so warm and compassionate. He was kind, caring, courteous and reassuring. He said he'd be there in 20 minutes and he was. He was funny and enjoyable to talk to. He drove safely and knew what roads were closed and how to get around the closures. He actually consoled and encouraged me. I told him I may have to return home with a small dog. He told me Viking is pet friendly and they'll even do a long haul ride, door to airport, if you need. I've always had low expectations of cabs.....gross old cars and not very friendly drivers. Needless to say we needed a cab and hailed it when we were getting off the bremerton ferry......those other cabs parked out front looked nasty! Im happy to say I had a great experience with Viking......I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the car was and our driver, Jeff, was so fun to talk to. My regular driver is Matty, he gets me to the ferry on weekend mornings and it's more like getting a lift from a good friend- he always greets me with a smile and we talk about everything. Great service! There were 4 adults (including 2 seniors) coming over from Edmonds on the Kingston ferry. Arranged for the Ford Flex to pick us up and Shane was there, right on time. The car was clean and well maintained. Plenty of room for driver + 4 adult passengers. Shane was friendly and courteous - even saved our lives through some quick thinking when a truck ahead of us lost some plywood covering his load! I forgot to call and re-affirm our pick up (having too much fun, I guess) but Shane remembered for me and called me 15 before to remind me he was on his way. Got us back to the ferry safe and sound. What a great way to travel to the Kingston/Poulsbo area. I will definitely use Viking again! read more

Called and spoke to a nice man....got picked up at kitsap mall then headed back to base...get to the gate then told to pay and exit.....3 miles from the barracks!!!! I'm writing about Viking cab... I've had some really great experience with Viking cab.....but tonight or this am was NOT a GoOD one at all.... I'm not sure if he's racist, maybe having a bad day ( but I've had him before..n EVERYDAY CAN'T b a bad day, like I said maybe it was just us or r race.) Anyway I'm not sure what his problem was but he was EVERYTHING BUT nice!! VERY RuDE to us actually!! Said he would be here to pick us up in a couple minutes, so we waited outside for 15 minutes I guess ( Long enough for me to smoke a 100 cigarette n that always takes me at least 10 minutes.) Then we were trying to ask about the rates and his response was it's a flat rate.. yeah we get that but we are just curious about it. Even though he was not very nice to us not even a hello, good night or thank you...we were still nice and considerate to him n if you know me I have a HArD time keeping my opinions to myself believe in that saying "what goes around comes around." On April 2, 2016 one of our friends celebrated his 40th birthday at Heyday Farm and our group's transportation from the Ferry Terminal to Heyday Farm, onward to the Harbour Public House and then back to the Ferry Terminal was arranged through Viking Cab Company. They were great--very reliable--and Mark, in particular, was terrific! He is an excellent driver and a very pleasant young man. And he took very good care of us. We were uncertain when we would leave the Harbour Public House to get to the Ferry Terminal, yet we had told Mark we thought we would try to make the Midnight sailing back to Seattle. I remember telling him we would just walk as it was a beautiful night. But Mark was wiser than we were; he came by on his own to make sure we had a ride and wouldn't be late for the ferry. Viking Cab is great when you call from the Bainbridge side for rides to the Bainbridge ferry terminal. No complaints. I prefer Viking over the other local vendor Taxis & Tours. However, in a 1 year period I have called Viking first when traveling from Seattle back to Bainbridge on several occasions within months apart. 100% of the time they have not been able to get a cab to the Bainbridge side to pick me up at the terminal, so I end up calling Taxis & Tours, which is IMO sub par. Seems Viking doesn't have enough capacity to handle the volume heading to Bainbridge from Seattle. read more

Needed a ride to Poulsbo and back for a medical procedure. Mark took my reservation the night before and was very helpful and professional, Patrick called the morning of to make sure we were up and ready and showed up right on time and had an enjoyable ride and conversation on the way which helped take my mind off my nerves. After, we called and Tony was there in a few short minutes and didn't blink an eye when I asked to run through Starbucks for some much needed caffeine on the way home. He was friendly and great to chat with! All in all, everyone at Viking was wonderful and took a day that was nerve wracking and a possible logistics nightmare and made it go on without a hitch! The only reason I'm giving one is because there's no 0 or negative stars. We called to get a cab into downtown Poulsbo & the guy said the cab would be here in 10-15 minutes. After 15 minutes had passed we decided to go wait outside. Another 30 minutes passed and still no cab, so we called. Apparently the driver "showed up" and "called" my phone a bunch of times, as well as "knocked on the door"... we were right outside of our apartment, neither occurred. The man on the phone continued to argue with my boyfriend saying he did do all of those things, which is TERRIBLE customer service. Needless to say we're never going to call Viking Cab for our riding needs again! Atrocious service. read more

I live in Seattle, where cabs and Uber cars are easy to get, and readily available. Now, when I knew I needed to get a cab in Kitsap, I had to do some digging. I did some research, and Viking Cab seemed to be the best option. It was like having the quality of a town car for the price of a cab ($11 to Tracyton/East Bremerton from the ferry terminal.) The driver, Tony, was friendly and professional, and the car was immaculate. The dispatcher on the phone was very nice as well. I would use this company again for sure. read more

I used to have OUTSTANDING service with Viking Cab but my last few rides have been one bad experience on top of the other. To say I take a lot of cabs is an understatement and I LOVE the owner at Viking Cab so I choose to give my business to him over Uber although it may cost a little more sometimes. A route I take often is to downtown, a short ride albeit but I'm doing my part to not drink and drive, the fare they ask for cash because I'm assuming charges for using a card. I did not have cash so I offered to pay for my dude home at the same time to increase the fare and he said he would just charge me double for this ride because I didn't pay him for my ride last time, which is absurd. The next time I took this route, I just offered to pay double the ride both ways, I am sure enough to make up for any fees for using card, and tip graciously. The driver just kept repeating that this was his lowest fare of the night and not even worth his time. I was literally paying TWICE the fare on my own accord and he was so rude acting like I was inconveniencing him. Seriously, this is your job. read more
