    Family Bowling time!!!

It's a great bar/bowling arena. They have a few pool tables and lots of seating. We came here for bowling with the kids and got a few apps with our drinks. Delish, fast & reasonably priced food. Friendly service and great guests. Only downfall is the repairs that need to be made to the cooler area in middle of the bar area.

I cannot believe I haven't reviewed Viking yet! This was the first place we tried for fish fry when we moved to town, and it was delicious. They have a unique breading that really feels like you're eating somewhere fancy. Then we purchased their summer family bowling pass! It gives up to four people unlimited bowling for up to two hours each time you come form Memorial Day through Labor Day. It was only $50 and included shoes. The first time we came we save d that much alone! Such a great deal. They didn't do it this year, and I'm sure it had something to do with covid. We also LOVE their food in general. During quarantine we have been ordering from there lots! Sometimes we just get burgers and a few apps because they are so good! Their burgers, cheese curds, potato munchers and onion rings are the best! Hahah!

Opened in 1976 so it's an old 16 lane wood lane bowling alley. Its been rode hard over the years and isn't as nice as it once was. The prices are a bit higher than the other taverns in town. Most of the employees and patrons are friendly (there are always a few exceptions). This establishment is owed by CEC which owns several other bowling alleys (most of which are much nicer). I have not seen the owner for several years...so it doesn't really have that "home town" feel to it.

This is what the bathroom looks like on a Saturday afternoon. Really top notch here in Stoughton.

Visiting Stoughton, someone suggested Deaks for lunch. It was a Monday, a little before noon, when…read morewe arrived. We parked in the lot and were a little confused about where the entrance was. There really isn't a clear "front" door -- you enter through what looks like the back, next to a fenced-off area for the air conditioner. Inside, it feels like a typical pub, with a large bar area, video poker games (not a fan), and several different seating areas. Since it was a nice day, we chose a spot outside (we were the only ones there). We were greeted right away by our server, who brought waters and drinks. The menu has a good selection of items. We ordered the Cowboy Burger (on Texas Toast) and a Steak Quesadilla. It didn't take long for the food to arrive, and everything was hot, flavorful, and served in generous portions. The burger was cooked to a perfect medium. The homemade potato chips were very good and served warm. The tortilla chips were also warm -- a nice touch. The quesadilla had a good amount of filling with the steak, though a few pieces were a little tough or gristly. Overall, it was a satisfying meal, and we had enough leftovers to take home. Overall, a solid lunch spot. Excellent service the entire time (thanks, Colleen). I'd be happy to stop in again.

Both times we were seated right away and by coincidence at the same table. The service was great on both visits. Nancy, who took care of us for the dinner visit was very helpful and attentive. We each ordered different things of which I have added some pictures. We also had appetizers before dinner. I have added some of those pictures as well, a few after we had dug in. I ordered the 10 inch thin crust pizza with pepperoni and sausage for dinner and the Cowboy burger for lunch the next day. There were no complaints from any of us and we enjoyed everything during both visits. The pizza is a think crust which is not what I prefer but it hit the spot and I had a few slices leftover for the hotel. I thought the Cowboy burger was very delicious. The Buffalo chicken dip appetizer was also very tasty. This is a place we would return to again if in the area. They also have slot machines where you can try your luck.

The Norwegian meatballs were tasty (the brown gravy was a bit heavy) and the fresh roll was to die for! I love that it's a local joint, love that it has a legit Viking ship bar that blows smoke/steam, and love getting beer brewed on site. And a nice variety of beer at that. It had been awhile since I've been here, but it continues to be delicious. We came here for a Friday fish fry and while busy, the wait wasn't terrible at all. We went to the bar to grab a drink, and it seemed a bit wrong not to get a beer but it also seemed wrong not to get an Old Fashioned while waiting for a fish fry. So, Makers Old Fashioned Sour it was, and it was really good! I'd definitely order it again, and love that they didn't over-fill it with ice. It could sit for a bit and not get so terribly watered down. But OMG the fish fry! We try out a new fish fry spot every month, or at least most months, and I have to say this fish is probably my #1 that we've had. It was so delicious. The breading on the outside was light but crispy, and the inside was juicy and moist (sorry, it's really the best word to describe this!). I brought the third piece home (it took a lot of willpower not to eat it). I tear the breading off and give some of the fish as a topper for my pup's dinner. This fish and breading was seriously so good I'd eat the breading straight out of the refrigerator off the fish. The french fries were good, but had a few too many that were overly crunchy (reject fries, as I like to call them). Even so, still good and the fish still gets it 5 stars and the title of "Best." The roll that came with it was likewise delicious. Fun, local atmosphere and good food all around - the regular menu is great, the fish fry is great, the beer is great, and the drinks from the bartenders are great.

And it's close to our house. And I drove past it for years. To Koffee Kup. To Pancake Cafe. To Luke's. All great. I didn't go here because in the boys' words it "looked sus". And it does. It looks like a divey bar on the outside. And unsurprisingly it is on the inside too. But What it IS is amazing food wise. Everyone talks about the French toast. Having never had RumChata in a cocktail I can't comment but that toast is OFF THE CHARTS. But so is the biscuits and gravy. A ton of meat. Service is strained but lovely. And when you see what that cook is working with you're even more impressed. A 6'X4' cooking station and you make this? Wow. My only complaint is the bacon. Not great. Not actually good.
