When we visit the Fireside Theater it has become our tradition to visit Tavern on Rock before the show. It has a cozy atmosphere and the staff has always been friendly. There is ample free parking in the lot next to the establishment. Plenty of seating at the bar and more seating in the dining area. Music playing at a level that still allows for conversation. We always enjoy a well made, hand muddled old fashioned (or two). There are many appetizers to choose from and they have come well prepared and in nice portions. There always seems to be a fair number of regulars, which should be a good sign for anyone visiting. When we visit Fort Atkinson, we will surely return. read more

Their Philly steak and cheese sandwich was just barely passable. Not very much meat, without much flavor. The onions were steamed and soggy. The cheese was kind of strange. I couldn't quite figure it out. It wasn't great. The bun was a typical store bought bun. I didn't read the description well enough. I assumed it would have green peppers. It doesn't. My waitress was completely invisible after she delivered my food. She asked me how it was while giving me my check, after I was ready to leave. On the other hand, last Tuesday I got the taco special. It was amazing, and Cynthia was a very wonderful waitress! Also, there is no provision for people in wheelchairs. Every table is high. I would have loved to bring my friend for the tacos, but can't. read more

It's all about the food here. First time customer. We had a gyro platter and a whiskey double burger and upgraded side to cheese curds. Excellent. Very generous serving. Service attentive and cordial. Drinks reasonable. Only downside was two very loud and profane drunks at the bar. Bartender also profane though not as loud. Not really a family oriented place. I plan on trying restaurant again. But will ask for takeout if environment is similar. read more

Well, the bartender is very busy, too busy for a full bar, tasked to do things a bartender shouldn't when the place is full. 15 minutes to get a drink, again not the bartenders fault, but when the bar is full she shouldn't have to take food orders over the phone. Secondly, when playing music on the touchtunes some employee didn't like Clint Black and canceled all the music I paid for. When I asked who to talk to to get a refund, the bartender gestured to the entire place and said "Don't yell at me, talk to that guy", pointing to nobody specific..... I never raised my voice, there was no reason to. Anyway, I won't be back. Unfortunately this was my wife's impromptu "Retirement party". The employees are good and doing their best I think, buy management needs to be replaced. The food was decent for what we had, just some appetizers, and the wait staff was fantastic given the amount of nonsense they have to deal with. read more

Attended a sale event at The Fireside Dinner Theater. I asked 6 different people where was a good place to eat. Everyone mentioned Tavern on Rock. I had a great meal and glad my daughter and Me ate there. I had their ribeye and ordered shrimp as an add on. Steak cooked as I ordered and had that great char flavor. Oh so good. As to the add on shrimp. Jumbo and fresh. They breaded and deep fried again a great addition to the meal. My daughter had a gyro. She found it delightful and enjoyed eating it. Service was great and staff was attentive without being intrusive. As to ambiance this is a bar that serves great food. Little loud but not unbearable. Ages range from young crowd to older folks like me. (75). I will return when I can being I live near Chicago highly recommended you try out. read more

Private parking lot although not a lot of spaces. Samantha was our server and she could not have been more friendly. Service was fantastic. We of course started with the cheese curds. Some of the best I have ever had. Simple but delicious. I ordered the sliders - qty 3 - Nashville hot. They were good but did not taste like Nashville seasoning to me. I only ate 1 as I just wanted to try them. Sent 2 back to the office for them to try. My main was a double Butter Burger. So dang good. I got the waffle fries for a side - excellent. Love this place. Wanted to stop here after reading good reviews. Not at all wheelchair accessible so we had to lift our sons wheelchair to get in. Not greeted or helped by anyone. Once seeing all full seats, we walked to find someone to see how long the wait would be. No one wanted to be bothered. I have visit this place 3 times. Each time I was not impressed. The last visit was not good at all. I order the gyro sandwich. The server misunderstood me and ordered the gyro double so called smash burger. It came on a plate with a few pickles, sent it back. Only to get my gyro sandwich wrapped up on a plate witch was a terrible idea because when I unwrapped it all of the toppings fell off. The pita was stale and the meat was reheated on the flattop or microwaved. They only offer coleslaw even though they have other salads on their menu.. No side salads. Not impressed. read more
