    Chicken salad sandwich melted
    Valerie P.

This was so gas. Chicken salad was honestly one of the best I've had--super saucy, flavourful, and the pickles cut through the saltiness in the best way. Definitely recommend getting it melted, it just hits different. Portion is pretty small though so don't come starving, but flavour-wise, it was fire. Service was good and there are places to sit outside and eat, but not any inside.

Came here with my boyfriend to try the sandwiches. You order in the store and give them your name, then they'll bring it outside for you. There is only outdoor seating outside the store. We got a caesaroni and a lyonnaise sandwich to share. I don't think. The caesaroni was pretty good, and the cheese pull was excellent, but there was not much caesar dressing taste. The lyonnaise was not as good, maybe because I don't like back bacon. It's a good portion in my opinion.

10/10 butternut sandwich Hidden sandwich shop in a corner store serving up the best sandwiches. I made my sandwich vegan (removed bacon and cheese) but was still super delicious!! The microgreens inside really balanced out the sweetness of the squash. No indoor seating but a few benches outside for you to enjoy the sandwich fresh Will be back to try the brekky.

This was my second visit to Vilda's--and I just had to come back! Whenever I'm craving a sandwich, Vilda's is the first place that comes to mind. The star of the show is obviously the Caesaroni. Every bite is packed with savory goodness, and the cheese pull is perfect. If you're looking for a sandwich that hits all the right notes, Vilda's won't disappoint. Highly recommend!

We came here on my birthday, and honestly, it did not disappoint. The sandwiches were amazing we got the butternut and the Turkey apple slaw . Between the two, the girlfriend and I LOVE the butternut. If you guys are ever in the area check them out you won't. Be disappointed

Curry chicken special of the week

Stopped here for lunch on a Friday, and when I tell you this was one of the best sandwiches I have ever had!!! The shop is so cute, a casual neighborhood feel, not really any seating inside but so spots outside to sit while you eat; definitely more of a sandwich counter though. They have a small menu of sandwich staples and one rotating special option which this week was a curry turkey sandwich, which obviously I had to get. The depth of flavor was amazing and it was sooooo fresh and satisfying from all the veggies too! I loved the textures of the sprouts and greens to the peppers. Definitely a Toronto hidden gem!!

Picture perfect - yes. Worth anything? Absolutely not. I can only speak for the caesaroni sandwich. $15 is way overpriced for this small sandwich that I thought I could share but could honestly stuff into my mouth in one bite. The bun is very airy and light, with mixed greens, pepperoni and cheese, and marinara. Sorry but where's the Caesar? And flavour? I feel like the ingredients were good quality but the way it's prepared felt like something you whip up as a quick snack before you head out. I heard the story behind this place is it used to be a convenient store and they kept it that way because they thought it was cool and that tracks because they're so focused on the vibe and being different that their food is so mid and overpriced- just like 90% of Toronto now that you just feel bamboozled. What I can say though is the service was great but I did go on a rainy day where there was no line. If you love to wonder why people line up for anything or try overhyped things, this is the place for you!

Sandwich was great. The Caesar salad added a nice contrasting balance to the pepperoni and tomato sauce. Staff are super friendly. I'll definitely be going again to try their other items.

I ordered the ceaseroni through ubereats. I wanted to eat it later, but since It arrived hot (even after ~30 mins of delivery) I ate it right away. The bread was still fluffy (not soggy) and the exterior was toasted! The cheese was stringy, pepperoni crunchy... every component of the sandwich was perfectly crafted and high quality. My absolute favourite part was the Cesar dressing. It tasted a bit garlicky. The seeds on the bun were a great add on as well that made the bun itself flavour packed. The sandwich also came with a pickle on the side. Please note prices on uber are much higher than in store.

This is very likely the best sandwich I have and will ever have! I got the chicken salad and omg it was like an absolute explosion of flavor in my mouth! They put banana peppers on it! What crazy mastermind thought to put banana pepper on chicken salad?? Who ever it was deserves an award! And look at that interior! It was such a cute counter to order at!

This place is Amazing! Stumbled upon it as we were walking up from Queen, passed that good smelling pizza from Bidiali's. Its nice to know that a little discipline will land you right at the front door of a healthy option. Vilda's is like a small general store and deli. Snagging probably the top stop to get homestyle, handmade sandwiches at a decent price in the neighbourhood. Picked up a delicious root vegetable salad with some balasamic vinigriette and ricotta cheese, plus some slivered almonds as a topper. So tasty. Kinda pricy, $13 for a medium container, 500g = 2cups. This could either be a side or a full meal, depending on your preference for eating salad. I like to have full bowls of salad that count as a meal and this would definitely suffice for that. I guess its pretty standard pricing, if I think about other salad meals at other restaurants. Plus they make everything in house, fresh with quality ingredients. Super top notch! I would absolutely love to try the other salads they have. They feature different salad toppers per salad, which can easily be swapped again, depending on your preference. The other salad ordered was fairly tasty too. A Cauliflower and broccoli salad. And their sandwhiches are scrumptious! Fully packed to the brim with meat! Exactly what you want when you order a sandwhich! Thick, saucey, delicious! Service was pretty great. The last day of the awesome counter attendant that posed for our photo. They had exceptional customer service; fun, playful, friendly- they were even dancing with the music and singing along, such great vibes. Those making the sandwich however they were pretty ensconced in their own conversation with one another. And a turn off for me was seeing their hair loose. Imo they needed hair nets. Plan on returning soon.

The bacon sandwich is delicious, a bit rich and salty on its own but I had half of it and half the chicken salad sandwich and it was a good combo. Their soft serve is a must try, the flavours change based on the season but they are always unique and amazing. I'd love to see more items on the menu aside from sandwiches and salads, I'm not a big sandwich fan hence the 3/5.

I love when businesses still use the unique vintage business signs/decor but add a modern twist. Vilda's is actually hard to find because it used to be a corner store. Currently the corner store sign is still up, with a small sign propped up saying "Vilda's" We obviously saw a social media video that showed this insanely packed sandwich with ooey cheesey goodness so I said "we had to have it" We had: The Caesaroni- this was essentially a pepperoni pizza and Caesar salad sandwiched between two buns. The flavors were pretty good! However I think the amount of pepperoni was a bit light and the romaine could have been packed tighter in the sandwich as it was all falling out Chicken Salad Sandwich- this was a pretty generic chicken salad, though it was definitely very packed with filling. The pickles that both sandwiches were served with were really good! Not too salty and super crunchy But overall the first sandwich was good, but honestly I wouldn't go out of the way for it. Also note the staff were all really nice and accommodating

I got 3 sandwiches for me and my family (4 people including me). What we ordered: Mona Lisa: 8/10 For both of the sandwiches the bread was very fresh and delicious! They make them fresh for each order and you can taste the quality. The flavours in the Mona Lisa worked really well together, I loved the truffle cream and burrata. Torino: 7/10 This sandwich was also good, but the I felt like it was lacking something, especially compared to the mona lisa. The spicy eggplant just tasted like plain pickled eggplant and wasn't that spicy. I feel like both sandwiches were a bit salty due to the prosciutto, and were missing some sweet or acidic element. I added some balsamic glaze and hot honey at home which was great! The portion sizes are HUGE, the 4 of us were quite full after splitting the 3.

And it pains me to write this review about the bad quality of their entrees. I've been to Naomi twice. The first time I bought the Salmon bibimbap and the second time I bought the Chicken teriyaki. The pictures looked really really good so I opted for them, but both dishes were disgusting. I was really thrown off by how quickly they were able to prepare both dishes. Under 5 minutes?!?! It seemed almost too good to be true. When I opened the container and took the first bite of the meat, I fully understood why. Naomi uses canned meats. For some people, this is okay, but I really could not stand how "plastic" the chicken felt. The meats weren't even seasoned, rather covered in mediocre sauces. The teriyaki sauce wasn't even teriyaki sauce... it was a transluscent orange with a syrupy consistency. The bibimbap was also poorly done. There was no sunny side up egg, and the only veggies consisted of bland bean sprouts, overcooked carrots, and boiled spinach. Although, the "gochujang" sauce was not bad. However, my friends have all claimed that Naomi's sandwiches are extremely tasty, but after my two bad experiences, I'm probably not going to come back. TLDR: don't get any entrees. Stick with the cafe classics.
