    Turkey bacon sub

Grandma Loves You! The owners of this eatery truly do. I've been to their original location in Rosedale a handful of times. I have loved everything that I have consumed, from its subs, to its croissants. The owners, Artin and Sarah, treat your like family. Even when they are extremely busy, they will take the time to chat with you and see how you're doing. They'll give you a hug to let you know that you matter. It's probably the most unique relationship that I have had with owners and a fine business. They opened their second location in Chefs Hall. Between their Rosedale location and this downtown one, the latter is more convenient for me. I tend to be in the area more for concerts. So, it's perfect to park where I normally do at the Ernst and Young building and walk briefly over to Chefs Hall to get my sandwich fix. My sub is the meatball and cheese. You get the best meatball with cheese with every bite. It is the best meatball sub that I have ever had. I've also had the French hot dog here. I love the rectangular slab of brie that you get with the hot dog, along with blueberry jam. All these items work so well together. It's delicious and such a unique combination for a hot dog. The dessert croissants are a must. If you're full, go order one to consume an hour later. It's so worth it. My favourite is the German chocolate cream and banana croissant. It's heavenly! The croissant is flaky and yummy. Pair it with chocolate cream and thinly sliced bananas to make this dessert croissant look and taste fancy. It's a touch sweet, but not enough to get a sugar high and crash moments later. Staff here are always cheerful and nice. I normally pay with a credit card and have had no issues. Chefs Hall has plenty of places to sit down and eat. I've done it a couple of times with my GLY orders. It's the perfect for me to grab a bite to eat before a concert. I love GLY equally as much as GLY back. =) (298)

I have been going to their Rosedale location before they opened up their new location inside the Chef's Hall and I have been in love with their cold cut sandwiches, hot sandwiches, Rye Bread (Club) sandwiches and great variety of hotdogs. They really care about their customers and providing them with best service and high quality food. There's nothing on their menu that I don't recommend; once you try one their sandwiches, you won't stop until you've tried everything on their menu.

Brighten your day with tasty sandwiches from Grandma Loves You. Have you heard the exciting news? GLY now has a new downtown location in Chefs Hall. This eatery has wonderful European delights. Hence it's ranked among the best in Toronto for its sandwiches, hotdogs & croissant. Among the wide assortment, this time I ordered & enjoyed both the Spicy Ham Cold Cut and the Meatball & Cheese sandwich. German chocolate cream & banana croissant was such a flakey yet decadent dessert to end the savory meal with a sweet treat. A visit to GLY is like visiting an old friend, as the owners make it an amazing meal experience. Definitely check out this new location!

I've been to their Yonge St location several times throughout years 2020 to 2022. This was my first visit to their downtown location at Chef's Hall. This location opened on 2023-03-13. It is a food stall inside a large food hall. I've tried several of their hotdogs, sandwiches, cookies, donuts, and drinks over the various previous visits. Their food is well-made and very delicious. Yelp has named Grandma Loves You as number 1 in "Yelp's Top 100 Places to Eat in 2022 and 2023"! Congratulations! This time we ordered the following: 1. French Dog ($9.49). Brie cheese, blueberry jam. 2. Meatball & Cheese Hot Sandwich (small $12.99). Homemade tomato sauce, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion. The customer service has always been excellent at every visit. The owners are such nice people. There are many hotdogs. Each one is named after a country. There are some interesting toppings for each one. Or you can create your own hotdog. You never know if they will name your creation after a country! The French Dog is my favourite hot dog. Brie is my favourite cheese, especially when combined with a blueberry jam; it creates a great colour contrast. And there is a generous amount of brie! Perfection! This was the first time I ordered the Meatball & Cheese sandwich. It is a sub and the meatballs was subtly spiced which is better than the typical meatball. They also sell croissants as their dessert. The other location has so many more dessert items. They have been open since Apr 2019. Artin and Sarah are husband and wife owners. They had a similar restaurant in Germany since 2015, under the same name but in the German language. There is free WiFi via the Chef's Hall WiFi. The place is wheelchair accessible. There are separate male/male washrooms in the food hall, and they are wheelchair accessible. There are some paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2023-113

Opps, I got too hungry and took a bite!

I've been ordering off of Ritual having discovered that GLY was in the Chef's Hall! I definitely prefer the original location, the sandwiches just seem to taste better. I've tried their spicy ham sandwiches, gourmet hot dogs and just need to try the sweet croissant creations. The staff are friendly and prepare the food quickly so that you can enjoy the sandwiches asap!

They serve HUGE sandwiches, 12 inch is enough for two meals. Im picky on bread but their bread is so crispy and fresh! It was one of those lunches where you think about it throughout the day because it was so good... I will definitely eating here again soon! The foodcourt they're in is really cool too, it was very laidback with big wood tables and neon signs. Seems like you can get happy hour here after work from a different stall and the music was pretty good too!

i split a 12-inch ($10 each) chefs choice and it was genuinely very good, filling too. no notes

Picked up the Chef's special for lunch today. It was delicious... loaded with grilled chicken and especially enjoyed the sauce. Recommend ordering online during the busy lunch rush.

Me trying to take apart this sandwhich but it's already awful.

Actually the most disgusting sandwhich I have ever been served. It's embarrassing that the worker said "this is the recipe" while he slathered what looked like half a pound of cream cheese on to two sad pieces of rye bread, topped with enough turkey to make you sick. The food is not fresh at all and the quality of ingredients is awful. I opened my turkey cream cheese just to throw the entire sandwhich away with how terrible the turkey tasted. No one wants a soggy massive sandwich stuffed with terrible ingredients. Don't waste your time here.

It's a food court, so not much for atmosphere... but it's fast, friendly, and deliciously huge!

Today, I made the mistake of purchasing a goat roti at Randy's on Yonge Street. At 1:20 PM, the place was completely empty. I approached the counter and was met with no greeting, no smile, not from the cashier nor from the two women near the hot table. The roti shell was undercooked, gummy, and doughy. The filling was 95% overcooked, tasteless potato, with only a few tiny bits of actual goat. The entire filling was dangerously well below safe temperature. When I politely requested a small amount of pepper sauce, a full whispered "committee meeting" began behind the counter about how to handle my simple request. After their U.N.-style debate, the final decision was: "Here's a tiny squirt of pepper sauce." Seriously? Penny‑wise and pound‑foolish has never cost a business more. Absolutely shameful.

Whenever someone brings up something foolish that I did in my youth, I touch the back of my hand to my forehead, toss my head back and proclaim "Oh but t'was in my salad days, when I was green in judgement!" LOL. I really should have been an actress! But enough about The Bard and my career choices, what about the food, right? It was good. I had the Salad Days Special ($8.49). It was romaine and iceberg lettuce, sweet potato mash, 2 dolmades (grape leaves stuffed with rice and spices), tomatoes, cucumbers, kalamata olives, feta cheese, hummus, tzatziki, and your choice of chicken, cooked salmon, smoked salmon, tuna, meatballs, smoked ham or falafel. I chose cooked salmon and asked them to hold the hummus. The salad was huge, but the majority of it was lettuce. Still, a really good deal for $8.49. The cooked salmon was a good size, which I liked. It was cold, but still flavourful and didn't smell fishy. I would have preferred it if the kalamata olives had the pits removed, but they were still ok. They have other set salads or you can make a custom salad. Their model is like Freshii, but I like them much better than Freshii. Staff were nice and efficient. So this is the location in Cumberland Terrace, just west of Yonge. They have another location really close by in The Hudson's Bay Centre, just east of Yonge. I like this one in Cumberland Terrace better because there are a few seats right next to it that is only shared with Esther Queen of the Soups customers. It's a bit more secluded. Note that the Salad Days in Cumberland Terrace is not in the main food court area.
