About 15 minutes later they came back and said they were out of the jamón y queso empanadas and only had tinga left. I said that was fine, but when it arrived it was cold, almost frozen. I asked them to heat it up, which they did. The tamale, on the other hand, was good--hot with great flavor. The coffee and juice were also solid. More than likely, although the restaurant and atmosphere were beautiful, I'd go elsewhere for better food at a better price.

The guava pastry and puerquito were very fresh, soft and not crummy at all. The guava pastry was specifically memorable as it had the most delicious creamy filling in it that tasted like real guava and not overly sweet. The cafe de olla was addicting with the spices being perfectly balanced. It sets the standard for cafe de olla... it's not clear if I'll ever get one as good as the one they make here. This is a must stop during any visit to Mexico City.
