Service was great, and the atmosphere in the back area is super aesthetically pleasing, with a lot of plants. The weather was great, so the roof was open. However, the food and the lattes we got were not very good. My boyfriend and I got the golden latte. He got it cold, and I got it hot. The hot was better than the cold, but still wasn't very good. I don't know who likes turmeric in drinks that are not heath-conscious drinks, but if you're the person, this is for you. It has very strong turmeric. We shared the chicken and waffles, which the waffles were a bit dry. The saving grace is the small side of ice cream, which I used to make the waffles less dry. The chicken was crispy, but it had some parts where the texture was off for me. Wouldn't really recommend unless you really value ambiance and would have it carry a restaurant. read more

I was going to give this place four stars but decided to take it to five. The service was great, loved sitting in the back patio area, and the food was good. I definitely enjoyed our late breakfast, overall good flavors, drinks and portions. It is a bit pricy for something like a Chilaquiles, but I do understand adding the egg and meat was an up charge but still. The burger was very good and cooked to the correct temperature. Yes meat has a correct temperature and anything over medium rare is just sac-religious. I would go back if the opportunity arose. read more

Stopped by for breakfast and tried the croque madam sandwich, breakfast sandwich and also the mushroom tamal The mushroom tamal was the best by far - absolutely amazing!! The breakfast sandwich was also great - classic option w bacon and egg! The croque madam was my least favorite but I also just wanted to try it out but not something we would get again. Stopped by Freims for lunch after seeing Chapultepec. Freims has lot of drinks available including many different spritz - I decided to go with the classic Aperol Spritz which I always enjoy. I ordered the chilaquiles, and they were a bit saucier than I'm used to, but I still thought they were good. I finished off with a cappuccino which was smooth and tasted great. Service was very good and the back patio had a great ambiance. Overall this is a nice little spot that I'd recommend for breakfast or lunch. read more

For example the menu has different kinds of hot chocolate and we ordered 2 different kinds (one with mint and one with tangerine). However what we got were 2 lukewarm regular hot chocolates. This was the worst experience I had in CDMX (service/experience + taste of drinks). Let me start with the drinks... Ordered the "Taro Latte" and "Chai Latte." I can't even describe what the Taro Latte tasted like... +1 point because they definitely used real taro but it was so bland that taro powder would've been better. The Chai Latte my boyfriend ordered was literally warmed up whole milk with a dash of cinnamon on top. The reason I am giving this place a 1 star is that we were treated a particular way and I can't pinpoint if it was racially motivated but it sure as hell felt like it due to the following reasons: 1. I walk up to the hostess to ask for a table in the back. I knew there was ample (outdoor) seating in the back based on previous online reviews. My boyfriend and I were working remotely and our laptops don't last long without charging so we wanted to sit at a table with an outlet. She flat-out tells me that there is no space. I was literally looking at the back area and saw several open tables with 1 girl sitting at a table for 4 by herself (see picture). I was so confused (there is always a language barrier in CDMX but there was no other way to misinterpret what she said) and asked her to please check. I had a meeting in less than 10 minutes so needed to get on wifi. She finally sits us down after going to the back courtyard to check that there were indeed empty tables. 2. She leads us to a table without an outlet because the bigger tables are meant for 2 separate parties/larger parties. Totally understandable but both large tables were empty and we said we were more than happy to move if there were other parties who showed up that needed the bigger table. She agrees and lets us sit at the bigger tables with outlets. We sit down (side by side on one side of the bench) but then immediately tells us that we can't sit side by side and we have to sit directly in front of each other. Again, understandable so another party can sit/maximize space. HOWEVER, another couple comes and sits down at the table next to us (the same exact type of table/seating), and they were also sitting side by side. Were they told that they couldn't do that? NOPE. I watched the couple for the next 10-15 minutes and the waiter never said anything of the sort to them (it was in Spanish but I think I could tell if they were asked to move to sit in front of each other). Why did we get told to sit one way when another couple didn't have to? 3. The owner (we think) kept staring at my boyfriend the whole time we were there- which was around 30ish minutes (I was facing the other way so didn't see) but managed to snap a picture of him staring straight at us. 4. We ordered 2 drinks (wanted to order food too but after all of this happened we had no desire to stay longer) and it was around $6USD. When we paid for our check inside the restaurant, they added an automatic $6USD tip... They decided to charge a 100% tip for 2 terrible drinks without asking the customer how much tip they wanted to leave? I mean I've heard/been to places that charge automatic gratuity for bigger parties or whatever legitimate reason but 100% tip? THAT I've never heard of. We left and went back immediately after realizing the extra charge and asked for a refund. This particular part didn't seem racially motivated but still ridiculous. There are soooo many other coffee shops in CDMX with drinks that actually taste good with more friendly staff. If you're reading this review and you are also Asian I would run away. read more

I never leave negative reviews, but after my experience here, I wanted to warn others to avoid this place. We were seated an hour after we put our names down. When asked for the remaining wait time after 30 minutes, we were told "5 more minutes" which turned into over 30 minutes, and then another 30+ minutes for our food to arrive. The whole experience was almost 2 hours for really subpar food and poor service. The food was overcooked, dry, and did not taste good. My "poached" eggs came out bitter and not cooked properly. After so many great dining experiences and service in CDMX, this was truly the most disappointing and frustrating experience. read more

Cute coffee shop with condesa vibezzzz. Nice outdoor patio in the rear. Yummy food. I split the chilaquiles with my bf and the dish arrived split for us into two bowls, which was helpful. The green salsa in the chilaquiles was delicious although I would've preferred a bit less salsa. We also ordered a latte and a mimosa. The mimosa was *chef's kiss* and it tasted like the OJ was freshly squeezed. Very quaint spot in the roma neighborhood. It looks small at first glance, but it is a deep building with open air seating in the back. I liked how it was dog friendly as well. There was a line when we walking up, so this is a popular spot with locals and visitors. They offer specialty coffee drinks with a trained barista making the drinks and flavorful brunch options offered all day. Their signature is the waffle so they include them with every dish. I was very hungry from all my walking, so I ordered the nuetella and banana waffle French toast. It came with regular and chocolate waffles. Very delicious dish. The service here is fast and attentive. You might have to get away with knowing a little bit of Spanish ordering here but it was easy to communicate. I know a little Spanish and they knew a little English so it was easy. I wish I had the time to come back here during my stay. read more

Rarely give 5 stars , but this place deserves it. Came in on a Sunday around 12p , party of 6, there was a line out the door and we had about an hour wait. It was so worth it ! Here why I'm giving this place 5 stars: 1. Amazing , homemade and rustic food with delicious blends of flavor 2. Very good service 3. Amazing ambience 4 did I mention amazing food? 5. A lot of cute dogs every where 6. Very good reasonable prices I had the turkey and Brie and it was so delicious! Blend of sweet and savory in a sandwich. The sandwich had like a fruit jam spread that paired perfectly with the Brie and turkey. And my fave was the Nutella and plátanos waffles... they are to die for !!! It has a unique taste with some type of homemade cinnamon whip cream and amazing syrup at the bottom. The waffle is between a cracker and a waffle so it didn't get soggy and stayed crunchy. The place is really nice. You can seat at the back the building in an internal yard with a fountain in the middle, and walls over in plants. It is magical. it islet friendly as well! The food is very good. For drinks we ordered Lola Loo, which is a lemonade with raspberry syrup and ginger. It was absolutely delicious. We refilled! For the meal, I ordered the roasted tomato soup which was delicious, super fresh and although I didn't ask, it seems it does not have or it has very little cream, so you are able to really enjoy the flavor of the tomato. Others in the table ordered the chicken waffles and the mac and cheese and they both said it was good as well. But beware if you are not too fond of spicy food, the Spanish version of the menu does not say the chicken comes with chili flakes. As second, I ordered the tostada de atun. I requested the serrano chili dressing on the side, as I am not sure how hot is the serrano pepper, so I can add as much as I was able to enjoy, but they just added the mayo at the bottom (the base for the dressing) and brought the powdered serrano separately. It was not at all how I was envisioning having that dish so I ended up returning it. I ordered then the burrata & pasta. They took a little too long to bring the pasta to the table. The burrata cheese and the pasta sauce were absolutely delicious, but unfortunately the dish was very cold. I didn't say anything at the time as I was really hungry and didn't want to go all over it again, waiting for my food for a third time. I did let the waitress know and she apologized. The tostada was not charged. I would recommend this restaurant, but as in any restaurant in Mexico, be very mindful of the spicy food and that even if you speak Spanish, we can all get lost in translation. Always ask if it has chili, as you can see the two versions of the menu are not the same. I am not giving more than 3 because a cold dish after a prior return just killed the experience. But I would be willing to give them a second chance at a later time. read more
