This is the best pizza I've had (in NY, Cal, anywhere). Really nice people too! Always a great meal! Try to go every week!

Stopped in for a couple of slices. Crust was crunchy. Sauce did not have a lot of flavor.

The business has been sold recently. Pizza was horrible, hardly any toppings. It's sad, i lived in Fluvanna for over 25 years. They had the best pizza until the last time I went. I was told someone in Charlottesville purchased the place. I'll never go back. Terrible pizza and certainly not worth the money. read more

I placed an order at 5PM and figured my order would be ready in 15-20 min (shame on me). When we arrived to pick-up our pizzas I was told they wouldn't be ready till 6:10. The restaurant had two large tables marked reserved... probably fit 16-20 people. I was told that my order had been pushed back till 6:10 PM due to food prep for the large party coming in. So we requested a refund for our order and the mgr had to approve it. We expressed our displeasure for this extended wait on a to go order. Steve told me that the large party had 5 large pizzas, but that they had several call in orders ahead of us. Funny thing... there weren't any pizzas that were being made. Very disgusted is their service or lack thereof! Won't be going back there again. Their competitor took my carry out order ASAP and told me the order would be ready in 15 min. Overall, the food is decent quality. For a family owned Italian style restaurant in central Virginia. I have noticed that they are quite slow at times in getting your order out for takeout or sit down. Bought a large cheese pie here for take-out about a week ago. Price was $16. Just ordered and picked up same this evening. Price had been jacked up to $24. That's a 50% increase. Outrageous - and what a rip-off! Gouging at its worst. On top of that, VN's pizza is mediocre at best, and of inconsistent quality. Pass the word to stay away from this eaterie. I have not eaten in the restaurant but I have ordered takeout a few times. This is my go-to restaurant for pizza in the area. I've had the Villa Nova's Special and the Margherita - both are excellent options. They have gluten free crust which is a plus! I would also recommend the Italian Sub! read more

Ever since this restaurant was bought out by a new owner, the food has gone straight downhill. They used to make the best pizza in the whole county. Now, the pizza is just awful. There's no tomato sauce...just a smear of what looks like plain canned crushed tomato. The crust is paper thin, gummy, and tasteless. The cheese isn't cooked long enough, so it's chewy instead of gooey. After many years of going to Villa Nova's, we won't be returning. read more

My folks order from here all the time and love it. They love their pizza and fettuccine Alfredo. My dad likes to tell the story of how my mom made him order takeout from Villa Nova while dining at another local Italian restaurant. While visiting recently, we ordered takeout - Fettuccine Alfredo (5 stars) - White Pizza with spinach (4.5 stars) - Calzone (4.5 stars) - Chicken Parm with Ziti (3 stars) The Fettuccine Alfredo was outstanding. I also really liked the White Pizza and Calzone. The chicken parm itself was very good, but the ziti and sauce was just okay for me. The takeout took longer than expected and they failed to include the garlic knots we ordered. Overall, we liked the food, but the takeout process didn't work out on this trip. read more

Wonderful pizza. The atmosphere is charming and it feels "warm". I recommended it to my daughter as a comfortable place to study or see her friends. While the food was fantastic, I was slightly disappointed about their pet policy. I understand that cats are not commonly known as service animals, but they are. They provide me with comfort and clarity. When phoning beforehand, the woman seemed extra caring about the situation. She said she was not sure if they allowed cats, but she thought it was a really interesting idea. read more

Villa Novas has grown on us. It has become a go-to for the occasional takeout meal. The Deluxe Cheesesteaks and tiramisu are rather good. The fries don't hold up so well with takeout orders, but you can give them some life back by popping them in the oven for a bit when you get home. Still recommended. read more

I called in an order that included 2 eggplant parm diners with extra salad and no pasta, A sign in the restaurant advises takeout customers to double check orders before leaving, but I picked up a bag that was securely stapled shut. I arrived home with no salad and one package of two eggplant parms thrown one on top of the other. I spoke with the owner, who shrugged me off. I have gotten the message loud and clear; the restaurant is busy and making money, so my satisfaction isn't important. I'm sure I can find something better in the area. read more

I relocated here from NoVa and thought I would never find pizza as good I got there. I was surprised that I found a pizzeria that was as good as when I lived in NYC. Coming from a pesky Italian, this place is delicious (granted I've only ever ordered the pizza, garlic knots, and house salad). The staff is always friendly despite it being the busiest place in town (expect to wait a bit on Friday or Saturday evenings especially), but I'm sure they'll hit their stride under the new ownership. read more

I LOVE Villa Nova's NY style of pizza but the entrees have been hit or miss. I will say that I do not purchase entrees often and this may be why. My last entree of eggplant parmesan with pasta was mediocre at best. There was so much mozzarella that I could barely taste the eggplant; a more appropriate name for this entree would have been "eggplant mozzarella". It made the dish greasy, heavy, and unappetizing. The accompanying pasta lacked enough sauce to even say it had any at all. It was pink in color as though just 'kissed' with enough sauce to keep it from sticking together. Disappointing at the very least. I will be sticking with their pizza from now on. read more
