They're saying, "How do they do it? How is the cheese so perfect? How is the crust so beautiful?" And I tell them, it's Amici's. That's what they do. Took a trip into Scottsville on a Monday and found this small eatery open on Monday (many places closed on Mondays). We both ordered the Philly Cheesesteak sub with the works and a side of onion rings to split. De-licious! Bread was the soft Italian bread stuffed with seasoned hot meat. Onion rings perfectly fried -crisp outside and no slimy onion inside. Each bite was the perfect combo. Service was very fast and friendly. Our server was able to answer a few questions about the area and what was open complete with directions. Small venue with 4 and 6 top tables. A little pricey, but worth it for what needed up being 2 servings for each of us. We will be back! read more

Stopped here while passing through to Charlottesville. Great food! Stromboli was delicious! Pesto chicken sandwich was great too. Our waitress was super helpful with menu recommendations and service was fast. Quiet ambiance, not many people sitting down to eat. Would certainly come back though! read more

Desperate one night without a dinner plan, we turned to takeaway pizza. We live closer to Scottsville than to Charlottesville proper, and fairly in the middle of nowhere; delivery isn't an option, so it was the perfect opportunity to try Amici's and save a longer drive. First of all, looking at the menu ahead of time I was just amazed at the prices for the pizzas--definitely cheaper than your standard takeout pizzas at the pizza joints in town. Perks of small-town life. I like it. We opted for just a one-topping sausage pizza (we have a toddler who is just learning to use his molars and so our usual order full of ever topping imaginable seemed unwise.) Again, the price point was right on: including tax, we slid $14 bucks over for our large pizza and got change back. Cha-ching. Flavor-wise it's right there with your typical American pizza joint; no frills, no fancy, just cheesy, slightly greasy goodness. The crust was chewy but crisp and not too thick. The sausage was actually quite flavorful and better than what I remember from atop delivery chain pies, but again, we're not talking artisan here. Other notes: the pizza was not the greasiest, but they still slid an extra sheet of parchment paper under the pizza, to try to keep that cardboard box recyclable, so that was cool. For the price point and our location, I will definitely revisit Amici's next time I'm looking for a big slice of satisfying pizza. Most pizza wins in my eyes, and I was a fan. Would definitely be interested to try their other menus items, too, to see what's up. Gotta love Scottsville! read more

This is a hidden gem in Scottsville! My family and I stopped by here to eat after kayaking at Reeling & Rafting. The food here was wonderful and it was on point! The shrimp and spinach dip was not salty at all and the seasoning was just right! The bread was very soft and it went well with the dip. If you are ever hungry and in town, this is the place to go! After moving to the area a couple years ago, we were delighted to find Amici's and enjoyed the food, a large menu, service and ambiance. But about a year or so ago we noticed the food was not the same quality, ie; spaghetti sauce became bland and watery, the pizza crusts were soggy, side salads were skimpy with cheaper ingredients. It's sad for us because we enjoyed going there on a regular basis. Hopefully, more feedback such as this will alert the owners and cause them to consider implementing a smaller menu that will allow for higher quality ingredients. We hope to see some changes soon! read more

Ordered for take out on a Friday and they were relatively quick. Staff was nice. Kind of a low frills place. The Greek salad was not my favorite as it was smothered in synthetic cheese. So i have been back a few times. Never a let down. A few suggestions. Ask for the pizza to be crispy. Try the eggplant!! They knock it out the park. You can get eggplant parmesan or eggplant rotini. The rotini is rolled up with ricotta cheese with mozzarella on top. I think I fell over trying it. To die for!! Comes with salad and a side of pasta. Stopped in for dinner with my wife. The food was delicious and the service was very good. It seemed like a very popular place to eat. I'm giving 3 stars because I've eaten from here many times being there are not too many options where I live and I'm not going to refuse what's being served by someone else or brought to me. The service and the food are absolutely worth the drive down to this restaurant! We went on a week night and were shocked how crowded it was. You need to be okay with rubbing elbows with the table next to you because it is very close quarters. Everything about our meal was excellent. We will definitely be returning. The best place in town hands down. Cosistent, delicious and affordable. Service is usually great. Pizzas are a weekly staple here, penne ala vodka w chicken may be the best menu item. Staff is always friendly but not bothersome. If every restaurant in town had one of the attributes that make Amicis so special we would be an amazing town for eating at. read more

Love the pasta dishes and pizza. We eat there at least 2-3 times a month. Ask about specials!

Doesn't look like much when you pass it, but surprisingly delicious food awaits. We got a couple appies and everyone got different pasta dishes and it was very good. The wine was good as well. This is not a place for stellar high cost Italian food. It is more neighborhood Italian cuisine. It has almost an identical menu to other restaurants in the family. But - it is always reliably good. And, their pizza crust is excellent. We are a big fan of their Rustica Pizza and highly recommend it. The people who work their are friendly and efficient. We rarely eat in here but get take out at least once a month. The pizzas are very good, the pasta dishes we have tried are excellent, and the Greek salad is particularly good. They have a large menu of appetizers, which are all good. The tiramisu is very good, though I have not tried any other desserts. When I've eaten in, the service was always excellent, and we've always been pleased with the take out service. It's a very good Italian restaurant overall-better than you would probably expect in such a small town, but Scottsville is a very cosmopolitan small town with a very noble history. You must be kidding me. "Hidden Gem"? Went in with a group of 5. We sat down, ordered and waited... and waited... and waited. We noticed that people who came in after us were already enjoying their last beer or cup of coffee. We asked why, with all the take out food that was clearing coming out of the back destined for pickup that, after more than an hour, we were still waiting for food. I ordered a pizza. Pretty standard fare... It was oppressively saltly, undercooked and watery. When I pulled off a slice to put on my plate this tiny pool of tomatoy water pooled up on the pizza pan. Then we waited an excessively long time before getting the bill, which we asked for probably 3 times. So I don't know what you people are talking about. From where I'm sitting this place was a full on joke. Lousy food... lousy service. I can't imagine I'd waste my time there again or recommend it to anyone. read more

Amici's makes fresh pasta in-house and every dish I've had has been delicious: chicken Marsala (for the mushroom lover), butternut squash ravioli, pasta primavera with shrimp, pesto tortellini--- all my favorites!
