Overpriced and bland. I picked up pizza here twice. The staff was not very friendly and the restaurant was dimly lit and not well kept. Years worth of dust on the fake plants and all over everything. I could look past all that if the food was good, but it wasn't. The first time I ordered a meat lovers pizza. It was covered in so much ham it was inedible. I'm talking about LAYERS (multiple) of folded up deli ham. Absolutely nasty. The second time I went with a simple cheese pizza. This place is awesome!! We were in the mood for comfort food on a cold night and saw the reviews. We were greeted and told to sit where we want. Small dining area, but we could tell most orders were take out. We ordered the cheese sticks for an app and they were huge! So cheesy and good. My husband ordered a 12 in pizza and I ordered the baked spaghetti. Mine came with bread (homemade yumminess) and a salad. His pizza was so thick and so big!!! My spaghetti was made for at least 3 people! Come hungry bc the servings are big! The prices were VERY reasonable. The service was great! We were craving pizza, but as out of towners, we didn't know where to begin looking. Luckily Yelp suggested Fabio's pizzeria, and it didn't disappoint. It was a weekday noon when we visited, so we were seated quickly. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. The menu was full of options: hot subs, pasta, pizza, etc. Ultimately we shared a chicken parm hot sub and Fabio's special pizza (14"). Everything came out relatively quickly, piping hot. The cheese was amazing, and the pizza was loaded! Definitely worth it. We arrived starving, and left super stuffed with leftover pizza and sub to spare. I'd love to give this place a rating. I had heard some good things about it from the locals and I'm in the area several times a year. So on a Thursday night at about 7:35 we went in but found no hostess on duty and three tables of customers. I found two menus on the counter and the looked to the kitchen two see two cooks who never looked my way. So I asked if we could just seat ourselves. That's when it began. The older guy was the owner and he let me have it! "No, No, No! Take out only. I'm tired and old, and I'm not doing this anymore. 2 years and I'm done!" I asked about the 8:30 closing. The place is decorated in a way you can tell he is. LOL The food was amazing. Our table had 13 people. We ordered several things and it was all amazing. We were staying at a local lodge and wanted some pizza. We found this place on Yelp and thought we would give it a try. Staff were very nice as soon as we walked in the door. We were the only customers so wasn't sure if that was a good sign. Lol. The waitress took our drink order and then our food order. It appears to be family owned and operated. The gentleman who took out order was Italian! Could it be Fabio? The ratio of cheese to sauce to pepperoni was perfect. The crust was flavorful, crispy outside - soft and chewy inside. The sauce was tasteful, well seasoned but not overpowering. The dining room was so hot. There was no music. Very awkward. We got wine and it was too hot we had to put ice cubes in it and we ended up having to order a beer. I got the water it tasted weird like soap I had to get a different drink. From out of town and stayed near by, so my wife and I ordered a large deluxe, hold the hamburger. The pizza was forced into this box, that must have been meant for a medium. Crushed the pizza inside and made it curl up and fold over on itself, and made it very soggy. There were also WAY too many toppings on it. I get that it's a deluxe/supreme, but the proportions were all out of wack. And lastly, the part that put the final nail in the coffin for us. The pizza was assembled: crust, sauce, toppings... and then cheese. So when you ate it, all the toppings came skidding off the soggy crust. Cheese last?! Who does that? Three brothers: Giuseppe , Ciro and Carmine are the chefs from Ischia. They do know how to make amazing pizzas and paninis!! Seriously delicious food! My favorite is white pizza with anchovies on the side! Superb! The rest of the menu is OK: lots of pasta for those who are hungry. They are all good people! We are here from out of town. Ordered pizza to go. Called ahead so it was ready when we got there. We walked in to what looked like 2 people gossiping. As we stood there waiting, they quickly shooed us away asking us to step up to the waitress window. We stepped up to that window. There was a young lady behind the counter that was getting other orders ready. She literally didn't look up or even acknowledge us for a couple of minutes. Finally the cook looked up and gave us a smile. We waved and said hello. The young lady still would not acknowledge us. Finally my husband said Good Evening. She sighed and looked up, no smile. We then told her we were here to pick up pizza. She got our pizza together and took our money. Not one ounce of warmth. It was almost like she was bothered by us coming in. Seems to me there is a cultural problem after reading the comments here after our experience. The pizza was decent but who wants to feel that way coming in for a to go order. We had been here years ago and were craving Italian food. We remembered it as having been really good, and we were looking forward to it. It was about 4:30 pm on a Wednesday. When we entered, there was one person sitting at a table but nobody greeted us. It was awkward. We finally had to ask if she worked there and if we should seat ourselves, and she said YEAH without looking up from her reading. We sat in the completely empty, completely silent dining area for about five minutes before that same person came in and asked if she could get us anything. She warmed up a little once we ordered, but it was definitely one of those restaurants where everything is a hassle and every change or request is done begrudgingly and at an extra charge. I should say that the food was still good. The salad was wilted, but the bread was amazing. Again...they'll charge you for more bread, but only about a dollar. The chicken Parmesan was delicious and the portions were big. They make a nice Alfredo sauce too. This place would do great if they paid a little more attention to detail. Some music would be great. Maybe don't use bathroom paper towels in a stack on the table. Get the staff some training. The food alone would not bring us back there. read more

We have never had the pizza here since the new owners. It may be very good. I have always told people this is the best Italian food you can find in the area as long as you order from the specials menu...and until yesterday I have always been extremely happy with everything I have had here and so has my wife. I am being very critical in this review because not only was a meal not very good, but it was not as it was described in the specials menu and the staff/owner did not care if we were happy. The specific meal was the Seafood Cannelloni my wife ordered. At $15 it was a terrible disappointment. The menu (handwritten daily specials) described this as made with crab, shrimp and scallops. There was nothing that even resembled crab, shrimp and scallops in the dish. The only pieces that even resembled seafood were clearly mussels and some still had the beard attached. We even took some home and dissected the meal to prove this to ourselves. There were some hard chewy bits of indiscernible something that may have possibly been scallops but more resembled diced calamari that was cooked to near cartilage type hardness. That was it. Not even anything that resembled bits of shrimp or pulverized crab flakes...and at $15 any diner should expect clear and present chunks at least of the scallops and shrimp and at least something flaky that could be perceived as crab...even imitation crab would have been almost acceptable but they didn't even attempt to pass that off in this dish. Our server said she would talk to the owner/manager and went back to do so...we saw her with the manager printing our check/credit statement and thought they would address the problem somehow...perhaps at least an apology but a discount would have been appropriate. We were given nothing...not even a comment or an explanation that they use what they have on hand even though the menu says otherwise. We don't blame the server...we blame arrogant Italians that own the place. Italians are not known for taking criticism of their food well...I've been there...done that. I ordered the Farfalle Bolognaise and it was fair, but not exceptional and does not look like any bolognaise recipe I have ever seen. The server said they mix their standard meat sauce with alfredo sauce for this dish...sounds like a cheap way to use leftover sauce and get paid $14 for that "special" to me. We will try to give them another chance. I have always loved their food and I'm very disappointed...I hope they are not beginning to fail which would explain them cutting corners like this. If they redeem themselves in the future I will come back to Yelp and revise this review or post another positive one...but for now...customers beware...there was something very wrong with our experience last night. read more

We ordered to go pizzas here in January 2014. There was a power outage and they were not cooked through. They didn't bother to explain just solved them to us. We just tried them the second time due to quarantine and well it was not much better I'm afraid. I am a vegan but that does t mean I want a pound of huge spinach stems and all heaped onto a crust with barely any more than a watery sauce. And so many artichokes. You might think more is good but there's such a thing as balance. My carnivore husbands pizza had a plethora of mushrooms dumped atop but alas, a sparse amount of pepperoni. At least there wasn't too much cheese. At home we scraped off a lot of topping and my pizza crust was adhered to the paper under it. We grilled pieces as best we could on the stove and after adding some hot honey and lots of chili flakes, I could eat some of my pizza. We are spoiled by home made pizza and great pizzas from Charlottesville. We will continue to drive there for restaurant pizza. read more

My husband and I are on vacation. I did a google search for Italian food. We stopped in for lunch. Our server was mice and polite. She had a dining room full. We got our order promptly. As we waited other tables got their food. Seeing the generous portions and other offerings made me question my order. We enjoyed the generous salads very much. I ordered the broccoli chicken alfredo. It was good. The chicken was a little tough and I would have liked a bit more broccoli, but those are personal preferences. The sauce was good. My husband enjoyed his Ziti very much.
