I loved the fact that a) he responded at all vs just ignoring the request, b) was upfront and honest about his timeline vs just taking the job and overextending himself. Once I told him that we were in no rush, and would be happy to wait, he proceeded to text back and forth with me helping me get an idea as to what the job might cost. He made recommendations about plants, etc....and all this without officially having secured my business. Towards the end of July, I reached back out to see what his timeline looked like. Again, he responded almost immediately. He apologized for not getting back to me sooner, and said he would come out to measure the area, and discuss the job in more detail. In my mind, he had absolutely nothing to apologizing for. He set a date to come out, came out exactly at the time he promised, and helped us figure out what would look good. He provided a written, detailed estimate, which he adhered to...we paid exactly what he quoted. On the day of the job, he showed up as promised and on time. He came a day later than he told me he would, without telling me ahead of time. Replaced my mulched area with gravel without telling me. He also left a giant pile of gravel on my lawn for a full day, killing a big patch of grass. I needed paver bricks laid, and he rebuilt pillars on the patio without telling me. While rebuilding the pillars, he cut the wire that was connected to light fixtures that are on top of the pillars. Fernando would not admit that he cut the wire, but I confirmed with an electrician that there is no power running to the end of those wires, so they were cut along the way. After weeks of calling Fernando and asking him to come out to take a look at the light fixtures, he either never responded or ghosted me. Stay safe and spend a little more money to have work done by people that won't damage your property and won't waste your time.

This company has turned into a real nightmare. We had a concrete patio installed in the fall of…read more2021. There poured the concrete basically on the dirt that was our yard, no gravel or anything. We were supposed to have a darker colored edge to the patio all the way around. This was not done. It was supposed to be stamped with wood grain. They did that, but it looks like they took individual pieces of wood and laid them on the ground. They never sealcoated the concrete as they said they would. We ended up doing that ourselves the following summer because we got tired of waiting for them to show up and do it, after several attempts to schedule the service and them not showing up. By that point, we had several cracks that ran the entire length of the patio and went completely through the concrete as is shown in the pictures. At this point, we can barely walk on the patio because it is so uneven. We will be going to court to get our money back because they are totally unresponsive to our daily requests to speak to them or get an email from them. When choosing a landscaping company, do yourself a favor and stay away from J and J Landscaping. They are totally unable to perform any job for which you may be trying to find someone. I will never use this company ever again…read more I had been using them for almost five years until they sold out to a hedge fund company. They used to have my credit card on file and would automatically deduct payments for years. However, last year, they changed their policy and stopped doing what they used to do, putting me into collections without even calling, texting, or messaging me. It's amazing that they can send me all these promotions and specials, but they couldn't send me a notice saying that I owed them something. When I found out about it, I called them up and said I was willing to pay this right away, as long as they removed it from my credit report. They refused, so I simply refused to pay them at all over a $130 bill. Completely ridiculous. Hedge fund companies are ruining everything. The owner used to live down the street from me.
