They are a family business that works together to get the job done fast. I need to get work done on the lawn of my house, however I had already done quite a bit of the tilling that would have been required. They discounted some of the cost based on that and added a few additions to what I was going to do originally. They for sure helped me fix some of the build designs around my house and taught me about new concepts. STAY AWAY. Simply dropped the ball and walked out of the project, where THERE are still unfinished items. Main task I hired them for, was to do leveling and patching of my entire front and back yard and weed control. Now, after two months, the property is full of weeds; bumps and dips throughout, clay like soil was put in which prevented grass to grow, seeds grown in unwanted flower beds!!!, a job would take a professional company a few days at least between prepping and cleanup work before even starting to lay soil and compact it in those bumpy areas. They demanded that I pay half $4500 and they will come next day to finish the job! Next day Gerardo the owner shows up demanding the second half ( which I have paid less the remaining $300 ) !!! It has been a a real nightmare with lots of back and forth and blaming me for their mistake (not watering enough where it have been raining like crazy for the entire week ) seeds started sprouting over flower beds!! What a waste of money, time and energy. I feel deceived and robbed my hard earned money!! I contacted them a few times and they demanded money paid ($300) before addressing their mistakes - very typical and unprofessional! Opened dispute with Yelp. Luckily I got half of the paid amount from yelp after a whole month of stressful e-mails, photos, documentation... Edit: replying to company's response: I asked for the sod after the owner Gerardo suggested areas around the patio where dead spots were and muddy soil forming. Plus all labor and material shouldn't cost $5000 sod would have been cents on dollar!!! You are quick to reply on Yelp but slow to finish the job. You kept saying you ran out of materials. The main task to level and fill dips was never finished , you came and sprayed weed in less than 5 minutes and you called that weed control...Still waiting on final invoice where many professional companies present before starting the job. Lesson learned to be more careful and be so trusting! So sad to see how dishonest companies especially landscaping are ripping people off like this and they are quick to blame clients for their shortcomings and screwups . Who would put a clay soil and throw seeds and without compacting the soil and expect seeds to grow!? And when I suggested a roller Joel asked me to borrow one from the neighbor , really!!! Joel and crew installed a boarder along the inside of fence, updated landscaping with brick pavers along deck. This addition has our back yard looking more vibrant and also stopping our dogs from digging. They fixed the front as well after having dug up last fall due to sewer issues. They planted over 20 plants and placed rock down. The crew was fast, efficient, talking over questions with you and cleaned everything up. Joel & his partner did a great job. They worked hard to remove all weeds, trim some bushes, and provide new mulch to areas that needed it. Now that we've had several rains, mulch has settled. I used them to prune my trees. Because they completed the project and it was getting night I wasn't able to see everything. The next day I texted him that some more branches that needed to be pruned. He was very honest and communicative throughout the whole process. He was able to fix his chainsaw and dropped by and finished the remaining branches. Trees looking great. I used Chimy's for weekly landscaping work because they offered to do it. The quality of their work was not exceptional but it was not too bad either and I figured I could make do with it. They began to switch up on the days for coming to do the work that I got confused as to whether they came or not, I do have a neighbor that cuts part of our lawn while doing his own. Their services rendered started to decline. However, last weekend they never showed up and never notified me that they will be absent; and I tried reaching them. A lady picked and said she will get back to me. This is practically 4 days gone now and I am yet to get a response. My subsequent calls have been going to voicemail and no call back. The rate at which they quickly responded on yelp and offered their services, is not the same rate at which they are trying to maintain that offer and try to keep improving their work quality. We hired Chimy's to trim up several over grown trees in our yard. They did a fantastic job! Some of the trees had dead branches, branches hanging over our neighbors' yards, and branches pulling on the power lines. They came out on a Thursday and gave the quote there onsite. Worked with our schedule and were back on the following Tuesday to do the work. They cleaned everything up, and even took dead and broken branches that had fallen already. Great communication and timely response. The quote beat out any other quotes, very affordable!!! Impersonal and changed pricing. Charged $850.00 for mulch And landscaping but said cutting the lawn was not included!!! Wtf. Why would cutting the grass be included with landscaping especially with that price. Also put brown mulch instead of the red we requested. Not happy. read more
