Wow, I can see why Alex has earned so many stars here! He just framed a poster that was collecting dust under my bed, and now that I have it in my living room, I wonder why I waited so long. I know the answer, though. I dreaded the idea of bringing it to a big chain store, dealing with someone who may have minimal training, waiting weeks for them to complete the job, and then being charged up the wazoo for the favor. Alex's superior service, on the other hand, started before I entered his store, when he came racing out the door on a soggy afternoon, to provide cover for my poster and to run it inside, as if it were a priceless treasure. I was resigned to ordering a generic, even boring frame because I assumed the cost for my oversized, irregular poster would be prohibitive were I to order anything more fanciful. This was not the case, though. Alex showed me a sample frame, Italian, silver-leaf, and handmade, that looked as if it had been customized for my exact poster. This sort of frame is no longer being made because it was so labor-intensive. Therefore, he bought the inventory while he could and passed along the discount to me. As I type this, I am looking at this gloriously beautiful frame and cannot believe how lovely it is, so much so that, rather than hiding it away on a bedroom wall, I've decided to hang it in my living room where it can be better showcased. I also bought in a framed poster that I'd purchased from Art.com. When I received it, however, they had installed the hardware incorrectly, so it could only be hung sideways or upside-down. Alex agreed to repair the shoddy work and did a beautiful job, so now I have two fabulous prints hanging on my once-bare walls. What's more, in the midst of one of his busiest seasons, he and his wife got these jobs completed within one week! I was shocked when he phoned to tell me the job was finished. I can guarantee that I'd still be waiting had I taken the work to a chain store. I am certain, too, that the cost would have been considerably higher. In short, I cannot recommend this place highly enough. And to demonstrate that, I'm including some special directions because the new location is a bit tucked away and, thanks to my misinformed GPS, I nearly gave up on finding the shop. Here's the deal: It's located on Imperial between Harbor and Mervyn's Drive in the Sunny Hills Imperial Park (right next to the McDonald's). Once you turn into the place, keep heading toward the back and veer left. It's all the way at the end, near a now-empty field. You can park right in front of the shop. I wish Alex and his wife lots of prosperity in this new location. They are definitely burning the midnight oil to make sure their customers get first-rate service. read more

Alex the owner, worked with me on lowering the project's cost (I have expensive taste!) by suggesting other frames, using mattes he had on hand and working with me on other costs.
