Been a minute since I was over on this part of town and thought I'd swing in for a trim. I remember always having to wait but was always worth it. this time I just got right in. A men's haircut has gone up to $30 so that might be why. Not pleased with the guy who cut my hair, have been trying to grow it out and just wanted the back cleaned up a bit. Apparently that means remove all growth and blend in the sides means the same. Shame this used to be a good spot. Could have paid almost half at a chain spot and I'd still have my hair, it's just hair and as frustrating as it is, it will grow back but the price is a kick in the nuts. read more

I don't like leaving bad reviews, but hey..I did reach out to the barber. He never replied to me. The hair cut was cool, but then he needs to be careful with that razor blade. No one likes getting hurt with it. Even if he thinks it's a small mistake, nobody goes to get a haircut expecting to bleed. I got home and looked and it wasn't "not bad" as he said it was. It was like an inch long. Not just one side but both sides. One above my right ear and one on my left ear lobe. I'm never going back there. Nah. read more

Love that they are open early and took my son as a walk-in. They are very friendly and the owner's son gave my son his haircut and he did a great job! I came here too many times to be posting a review like this. I just like supporting the small business. In reality, this place should even be open. I ran into a couple good barbers who did a quality job. Also ran into a couple bad ones who send you out with something other than what you asked for. Their response to my complaint was arrogant. Love this place when they can manage their appointments. Called for an appointment in the morning. They said come in at 11am. I signed in at 11am and waited, and waited, and then someone asked me to come up. Told them I wanted a haircut and shave. They couldn't do it. That said, I had the worst cut ever. No names, but she's an older oriental women. She pretty much butchered my hair. This is a review for Charlene (barber). Went after school on a Thurs, brought my 2 sons. One had a different barber which was fine. My youngest had Charlene. I said a trim and keep bangs long as possible. Right after his haircut he was teary eyed and asked me to take him to the car asap. He was hysterical and didn't like the cut. At the beginning I thought it was fine since she put a gel on top and styled it sideways. We left that night to Cali and never got to see haircut. Friday is when I saw how horrible the cut is. We had to attend the wedding! I really wanted to send him back to have it fixed Monday but my son is traumatized by this time. I'm sure other barbers in this shop are talented. This place is decent, I would recommend One barber out the bunch. And I'd definitely stay away from the girl. I'm assuming her name is sharlene based off another review Didn't catch the name just but she is the only lady there cutting hair can't miss her at all. My cut with here was fine at first but after the the process of of asking what I wanted done with my hair and actually following through was a different story. I asked for mid fade with nothing cut from the top section due to it being long and spending over 2yrs growing it out in order to shape it the way I wanted only for it to be ruined within minute.... At first I thought it was great but after arriving home and removed my hair to style my hair LITERAL CHUNKS OF HAIR began to fall out from the sides and back portion. Looking more thoroughly the back side of the so called line up was slanted and longer even. After going back and addressing the issue she acted unprofessional and confused claiming she was not responsible for the chunks of hair ITS NOT HARD TO OWN YOUR MISTAKES. This review is after my first visit to Village Barber Shop. I found this barber shop on yelp and after reading the reviews I thought I'd give it a shot being new to the neighborhood. As I walked in to the shop there were quite a few people there. It was the last hour of their work day so I'm not sure if everyone was tired but no one really welcomed me when I came in. Gave me sort of an odd vibe that in turn gave me a mediocre impression of how the cut was gonna go. Glad that it wasn't the case. Anyway, I put my name in and was called to the chair by KC. KC was awesome. Not only was he a cool guy to chat it up with but he was very meticulous and professional with the cut. Looking at it from all angles like a science and fine tuning where he could. It didn't feel rushed which is nice. After it was all done the price was reasonable. I'll be returning to keep getting my cut here as long as KC is there. Thanks KC. See you next time. read more

Stop by for the first time to get a haircut. Simple skin fade. Or at least I thought that was going to be simple. Not sure if the normal clientele don't get fades. The woman that cut my hair had no clue on how to do a fade. When she first showed me my hair asked me if it was okay you can clearly see a line so I said no. She continued to try to blend in only making it worse going higher and higher on one side. The other side has hair's that was not cut because she was focused on the side that could not be fixed. Took my boys to get a haircut, my expectations were high due to the treatment I get from my current barber. Hes far though and I was looking on on branching out plus my boys are very good in the chair, they don't move or fuss. Two different barbers two entirely different haircuts with both being horrible. These dudes botched my kids hair! One left a bunch of razor burn on the back of kids neck and a bunch of patches. I asked them if they were skilled in skin fades, they re assured me they knew what they were doing.... WRONG! Cassie is amazing !! She is so so wonderful with my 7 year old daughters hair. She had a lot of wonderful suggestions, that we rolled with trusted the process and it turned out amazing ! I went I with long hair. Carol asked me what I wanted and I instructed her to cut NO MORE THAN 1/2 Inch off the top and 1 inch off the neck. There is no hair on my collar now because she cut the entire length off! The hair around my ears is almost shaver cut short! I wanted to keep long hair but now it almost looks like a mullet!!! Our daughter is fighting Leukemia and she was losing her hair so we asked her if she want to get it cut and if she wanted daddy to cut his too she said YES ! We waited about 10 minutes then daddy was in the chair. Hair was falling. Then daughter was up in the chair and all was coming off everyone heard our story as to why we were doing this. Finding a good barber is like getting to eat the last slice of pizza. You feel special and emotionally whole. Well that's how it feels for me! Case in point, The Village Barber Shop is a gem in the Henderson area. I walked in and was immediately greeted with a smile and a comfy chair. Jerry (the owner) sat me down and went to work. I gave him a brief description of how I like my fade and he instantly knew what I was looking for. Perfect fade, cleaned up on top, and I even got my eyebrows trimmed. Thank goodness, I was starting to look like Doc Brown from "Back to the Future". Just when I thought the amazing experience was all over, Jerry informed me that he was going to clean up neck using a straight razor and some warmed up shave foam. "That'll be $16", he says. Damn, I love this place! I threw him a twenty and strutted out the door. This barber shop is geared more towards men, but I heard a rumor that they might setup a cut and color area in the back for the ladies. If you go to Village Barber Shop ask for Jerry when you get there, but if he's busy I'm sure one of the other barbers can take care of you. read more

I was in the area of my favorite intersection in Las Vegas and decided I needed a haircut since I was meeting up with some friends for a birthday dinner. How does a guy who gets a military style (high and tight) haircut have a bad hair day? By coming here! My hair cut is so simple that I always cut my own hair. Simple zero all around or sometimes a 1 and depending on the side, 1 or 2 on top, high and tight, rounded in back. But what I got was some uneven cuts, edges, and what was something almost like a sharks dorsal fin that's been run over by the Titanic. Carol is an awesome barber! I've received over 5 haircuts from her and she has been extremely thoroughly each and every time. In addition, she remembers me every time I come in. Did I mention that everyone always ask for Carol when they come in? Even if there's a wait, Carol is always getting customers. It's about $16 dollars + tip for a men's haircut. Unfortunately, this is a cash-only place. There is an ATM located in the store though. Without a doubt, I'd recommend this place to anyone. This place looks like it gets a lot of repeat customers.
