I haven't had a "store-bought" haircut in YEARS and I was due for some sort of maintenance on my grey mop and white beard. I decided to give Ethan at BCBS a shot at making this old man look a little more stylish and civilized; a tall order, indeed. I gave Ethan full creative control, and after he asked a few foundational questions, he got right to work. Ethan's attention to detail was matched only by his brain-surgeon-like steady hands. He was never in a rush and took a lot of pride in his work. Ethan was a really nice person and I couldn't be happier with the results. I brought my son for a haircut. It was actually his second time having his haircut here. I showed Jess a photo of inspiration of which my son wants. She said "yes" she could do it confidently. Unfortunately me and my son were not so happy with the outcome. Very far from what I've showed her. I paid $40 +tips for the service that I am not very satisfied. Please! Next time if you can't do it, please let your costumer know. (Telling my son he doesn't have a curly hair that's why it doesn't looked the same. I don't think he needs a curly hair so he could have the same hairstyle as the inspo picture. It was shaved too much which I said from the beginning to not over shaved because my son doesn't like it. ) it was a very disappointing experience. Not worth of what I paid for. I really don't like giving out low ratings but here is my husband's experience: Heard about this spot, but didn't really want to check it out because of the price of a regular haircut being $40+...I go to Ian every other Friday at Great Clips here in Inspirada and he can fade me up for less than $20. My cut is simple - 3 on the top and 1 on the sides. He's done in less than 10 minutes, quick and efficient. Saying that, I prepaid for a "line up" that costs $16 since I had a few work events and couldn't wait until Friday at Great Cuts. Well, first off; Blu the Barber didn't show up to her 9am appointment so I decided to just get a regular $40 haircut with another barber. He did a good job, slightly worse than Ian's fade - cut my neck up a bit, but overall ok. I paid $40 plus a $4 convenience fee to use credit card (which I thought was terrible) and since service folks live off of their tips, I tipped $6. So, I'm all in for $66 for a fade at this point. That's like four haircuts for me at Great Clips with slightly worse quality. Per the barber/owner, I would be refunded my $16 because of the no show. Today is October 19th, 8 days later and still no refund after multiple messages on their platform and a few more messages on instagram. They asked for my Venmo, I sent over; and still nothing. Long story short is, for a fade; they're super overpriced, a 10% fee to use card is crazy, and the follow up on this refund has been drama. Money is better spent somewhere else!!! Update: received Venmo refund of $16 finally later today, 10/19. read more
