I thought the prices were fair, and it was conveniently located on the way to Mt. Bachelor for us. Only thing I would say is that the service was a little lacking. I've rented skis a few times and I've always had the employees fit the boots on me, and generally engage in a conversation about how they feel, how they should feel, etc. Here, they just left me with the boots and as a beginner skier, I would've liked to have a bit more engagement to make me feel comfortable with how they're supposed to fit. Otherwise, the employees were nice. The selection of ski stuff isn't too wide. read more

Fabulous service and reasonable prices! I rented ski equipment with them and staff made sure I had proper gear and was comfortable. We always rent our bikes from Village Bike and Ski when we come to Sun River (once a year). The employees are super friendly and knowledgeable. I feel like the prices are pretty steep but it is a touristy place and they have you by the kahunas if you need to rent a bike. I would DEFINITELY ASK FOR PRICING BEFORE YOU SIGN ANYTHING so you know what to expect when you come back to pay. Their equipment is clean and well functioning. They get you in and out in no time. They also tune bikes (if you bring your own) for a pretty decent price. We usually bring my daughters mountain bike with us and get it tuned every year here because, well we are here and it is easy, and it is reasonable. Lots of bike accessories here too. Great selection, really nice people. I was having some issues with a trailer coupler and stopped by to get some advice and guidance. An older guy gave me a coupler he felt may work with my frame. Asked him how much it cost and he said "Well, we don't know if it works.." He suggested I take it home and if it works come back and give him a few bucks, if it doesn't work, just bring it back. That's awesome. It worked for my bike(which was the initial issue), however not the trailer I purchased (elsewhere). I went back and he wasn't there but I spoke to another associate. Again really nice, but when realizing what I was inquiring about differed me to another employee they felt knew more about the trailers. He also was nice, told me about their options(including used), pros and cons of the trailers I was interested in, etc. I bought the trailer. It was a lot of money, but premium quality and when compared to the cheap trailer I had originally, the value seems pretty apparent. Really excited to have a shop close, with great selection of goods and nice people. read more

Just like last time, everyone was so helpful and kind (my youngest was in terror-mode and somehow they were able to fit him on a bike and keep him from destroying the store!), and we were in and out in no time. Not impressed at all with the service, the young lady working there was straight up rude and not at all helpful in navigating the online registration process. The kids bike we rented with training wheels was a joke...no way to adjust them downward to stabilize the bike more, you'd think these "bike experts" would have this figured out to make it as safe as possible. I purchased a bike here last summer, and had an excellent experience. Scott, the owner, is very knowledgeable and helped guide me to the correct bike and size. I had arranged to pick it up on what turned out to be a busy Saturday. When I showed up, the bike wasn't quite ready and they were flooded with customers. The mechanic on staff that day (wish I could remember his name) promised me he would get it ready for me ASAP. I killed some time in the village while he finished it up. I'm certain he had to work double-time or skip his break to finish my bike and deal with all their other business. When I picked up the bike, everything was perfect, he did a great job on the build up. read more

Each shop offers different manufacturers, so it's worth checking out if there's something specific you want to ride; but if you're looking for the most knowledgeable, friendly, informative staff; this is the place to go. I've rented, demoed, and gotten my bikes and skis serviced here with no complaints and great results. I've even had to warranty a couple of products due to issues with the manufacturer and these guys took care of everything. A friend recommended Village Bike and Ski for quality bike rentals and we couldn't have been more satisfied with the experience! Great shop! Stopped in there to look at bike helmets. The staff was friendly...we got greeted right away and was able to purchase a great helmet at a great sale price. The bikes were in great condition but we were in for a sticker shock when we turned them in. Price was a lot more then originally quoted at "around $50-$60 for five days". That is the price for the smallest bike but no mention of different prices for different bikes. There is absolutely no "up-front" pricing or a printed list of prices (that we were shown or could see). Seth (the man who helped us) seemed that he had something a lot better to do then to help us - very unfriendly and unwelcoming. read more

We can not say enough great things about this shop!! We rent from here when ever we come to town for the bits we need. They are so helpful, very knowledgeable and the customer service is amazing!! We stopped in to get gear for kids who had outgrown some skiing items they made the process smooth and easy ( can not usually say that about 3 kids - 2 teenagers).. when we went out to my vehicle the battery was dead. John did not leave us stranded in the parking lot at the end of his day, he went above and beyond to get us running again.
