A deeply disappointing experience with Village Cinemas -- multiple system failures, unusable vouchers, and no meaningful customer support. I was gifted Village Cinemas vouchers which were well within their expiry date. When I tried to redeem them for a Gold Class session, the website repeatedly returned the same error message every time, across multiple devices and browsers: "The voucher code/pin was not valid or voucher has already been redeemed." This was simply not true -- the vouchers were valid and unused. At the same time, I was unable to reset my Vrewards password (the reset link never worked), and the "Contact Us" form on their website returned the same error over and over again, making it impossible to reach support digitally. I attempted to call the Sunshine location, but Village Cinemas has no direct phone support. The 1300 MOVIES number is just a pre-recorded loop of session times -- no help at all. This meant that every method Village offers for customers to get assistance failed: Website booking failed Voucher redemption failed Password reset failed Website contact form failed No phone support exists Eventually I emailed customer service. My messages were either partially addressed, responded to incorrectly (including being repeatedly addressed by the wrong name), or simply ignored. By the time this dragged on, the movie session I had attempted to book went ahead with only two tickets sold -- exactly the seats we were trying to book -- meaning Village not only lost a paying customer but provided zero assistance to fix the problem. Then there is the whole fact the gift voucher is for a gold glass movie - but doesn't cover the booking fee you are required to pay to get a ticket! To make matters worse, Village Cinemas is currently advertising Christmas gift vouchers with a 12-month expiry, which appears to contradict Australian Consumer Law requiring a minimum three-year expiry on gift cards (with very limited exceptions). This raises serious concerns about compliance and consumer fairness. After weeks of back-and-forth, the issue was never resolved. The vouchers remain unusable solely because Village's own systems prevented their redemption, yet no refund, replacement, or practical solution was offered. I am not someone who normally leaves reviews, but this experience reflects a business whose website, customer service structure, and error-handling systems are simply not fit for purpose in 2025. This was not about a "policy" issue -- it was about a complete lack of functional support, and being left with a product I was unable to use due entirely to Village's own technical failures. I hope Village Cinemas addresses these issues seriously, because at present, the customer experience falls far below what any cinema patron should reasonably expect. read more

Good choice of Bollywood movies. Otherwise, pretty standard for a cinema. Good experience though.

Why am I a fan of this suburban cinema complex you might ask?? Good question. Well I have never been quite sure why sunshine needed a 20 cinema village complex but I do not complain as nearly always this place is pretty empty. How is this good you might ask? Well I never have to stress about pre booking my tickets or worrying about my seats. The movie range is always prettty good for the burbs and they are relaxed about bringing outside food in. All in all this makes for one relaxed movie goer. It is not fancy or new but it does the job!! read more

This review is purely based on a gold class experience. I certainly wouldn't be coming out this way for a regular cinema experience though this place is huge and they have a lot on offer. Sunshine is perhaps the most easiet place to see a movie gold class. There is ample parking, it's easy to find and not many people go to gold class here so you tend to get great service and seat choice. Going gold glass you are happily paying a premium to see a film. The food service here is spot on. The food is at an acceptable level for the price you pay but hey you can get a latte at 47 mins into the film. read more

Mixed Feelings about Gold Class. We visited this cinema twice recently, our first experience was great, we visited opening night for IT Chapter 2, food, drinks & staff we great. Unfortunately, on our second visit to see Jumanji 2, although the staff were great the food was not. My BF chose Fish n Chips and she said the fish was very fishy, I had their mini burgers and they were rubbery, lathered in excessive sauce and no salad in them, my sons southern style chicken was over cooked. My husband wasn't very happy with his wrap either, it had little chicken in it and lacked salad as well. The prawn twists & wedges were the only good choice on the night. It seems it depends what you chose on the night, it's a bit hit and miss or pot luck but what cheeses me off is they charge restaurant prices for poor quality. I did write to Village and told them what happened, mind you I had to verify that my complaint was legitimate sending them copies of receipts (luckily I kept them), even before mgmt get to see my complaint and then when they did see it they basically just brushed me off. The second visit was part of my Christmas present to BF & family, so you can imagine how bad I felt and embarrassing it was everyone in unison telling me how poor the food was walking out of the cinema. I'd give this place 4 stars; but really it's like all the other Village Cinema complexes in Victoria, so no surprises really

My displeasure in this organization is being polite. In November I paid good hard earned money to "experience" the Gold class experience, what I got was anything but....I was left bruised and very upset and was not left with the "experience" that was advertised on their screens. I reported this to Village Cinema complaints dept. Only to be left with the treatment that "you got my money now go away". I paid $200 for Gold Class 3D experience and received the experience from Hell. They kept my child waiting for an hour for her drink but her popcorn (which ironically makes one thirsty) comes out as soon as the lights dim...go figure. I not only pressed the call button for assistance but spoke with an attendant who was walking around, which made no difference. I fell on their steps when I had to leave the cinema to find my daughters drink. This is their advertised "Gold Class" experience??? When I contacted your "customer service" people only to find their service bland. All I wanted was the experience that was advertised as being offered and what I have received was the most disgusting treatment. I want others to know of this experience that this is NOT Gold and that resolution was NOT given! I should have been offered reimbursement in the form of tickets my money paid for at the very least. Shame on you Village for ruining my families "Gold Class " experience and not doing anything to fix this. This is NOT the experience I paid for and Villages lack of good Customer Service reflects on their business. When this was put on their Facebook page they tell you to send through when and where all this happened but then get no response for it at all. Take ownership when you make your patrons experiences a NO CLASS experience. Hope this helps those who are thinking of visiting Gold class!!
