After 3 weeks of no contact with them, I learn that they are still working on the car. They managed to fix the fuel gauge. Take apart my trunk latch and fix it and fix my air conditioner. I ended up with an almost $2000 bill. Not only did I not ask for my air conditioner to be fixed, it isn't. I specifically didn't want it worked on because I live in Hawaii and obviously can't take the car back to Dolan's to re-fix the air. The Air conditioner STILL DOESN'T WORK. To make matters worse, they obviously didn't inspect the car because my brake lights don't work and the battery won't hold a charge. I can't believe they had my car for almost two months. I am out two thousand dollars and I have a car that isn't safe and doesn't run. Thanks a lot.

But at the recommendation of my first choice in mechanics, Dolan's garage was mentioned. So deciding that a drive from Columbus to Caledonia was much more preferable to a dealer in Birmingham (thanks Royal Automotive, for never answering my e-mails) it was decided to let somebody and their local garage work on my car. And boy was I pleasantly surprised with the result. Even from the first phone call, Jimmy at Dolan's Garage just naturally inspired confidence in his knowledge of foreign cars. He answered my questions and reassured me that he could not only look at my car that next morning, but fix the laundry list of items I had asked to be looked at. Jimmy worked efficiently too, having my vehicle ready by the afternoon. When he handed the keys back, he even provided a print-out of my on-board computer and was willing to explain the results. We chatted about my car and he gave me useful and helpful information, explained with visuals everything he did, and jokingly chuckled that he "just went ahead and fixed" the issue with my hood latch I didn't even talk to him about. What a guy. So far I'm loving the service I've gotten from Dolan's. The elephant in the room is that this place might not be the best looking of all shops I've been to, but damn if they didn't do great work. Best of all, the price was reasonable. I was immediately helped and given a set date when the car would be ready, which is incredibly helpful with a busy schedule. Though the car was finished one day late, I was informed ahead of time. Great communication. I had an additional problem with the car (was not caused by the accident, and not their fault) and took it back in for a re-evaluation. They promptly took the car back to look at it, and fully explained to me (and showed me) the problem going on, and some courses of action at no extra cost. In my eyes, they are an outstanding team. The quality of the work was borderline immaculate. The fender assembly is all fixed up/replaced and the paint blending was far better than I thought it would turn out. It makes sense why Advanced Collision has grown so large.
