Avoid at all costs! One of the worst customer service experiences of my life. The staff is atrociously rude and I was literally verbally accosted and yelled at for merely questioning a pricing policy which was delivered after the fact and which seemed exorbitant. As if the appalling behavior of the personnel/owner were not enough, the store is physically unappealing--a dark downstairs hovel which reeks of decay and depression. Never knew this place existed (which is pretty sad considering that I can literally see it from my apartment, it's that close). But when I needed some pictures scanned to a CD so I could upload to an online album, I stopped in. It's not much to look at, and according to my husband I was overcharged, but the woman was extremely nice and gave me several options to consider with my final product. She also did some touching up on the older pictures (like 50+ year old pictures) and was very expeditious in delivering what I wanted. Bottom line, I'd go back. read more

The previous reviews seem like classic yelp confusion: a mix of great service vs. horror stories. I found the staff friendly and accommodating. I needed a t-shirt printed in a rush (same day). I emailed them my file and then went into the shop. The guy (owner?) sat with me and helped make some changes to improve the image for quality. I came back in an hour and the shirt was done. He did charge for his time to work on the file - but that is normal and considering it was a 1-off and a rush, I found the price to be reasonable. I would use them again for sure. Suggestions: The place is a little hard to find as it is in the basement and not well marked - maybe better signage. They should also consider stocking t-shirts that have no tags on the collar. read more

I have used Village Digital on several occasions, for CDs as well as printed materials - invites, flyers, etc. They have always been extremely helpful, affordable and friendly and the price has always been affordable. I don't usually write reviews, but my experience with Village Digital was outstanding and I had to share it. I needed to print 4 t-shirts, which represented a very small revenue amount for the printing shop, yet the owner and Chery, gave me excellent customer service, they were patient when I asked for changes in my initial order, and even offered me coffee while I waited. While I truly would have loved to give this company a good review, but my experience with this company was unfortunately unpleasant and unprofessional and I definitely would tell anyone who isn't incredibly experienced with printing companies to steer clear unless you're okay with getting yelled at and treated like they're doing YOU a favor for bringing them your business. So here's the deal: I called on a Sunday for a sticker order I needed by Thursday morning, and was happy to hear they would be able to accommodate me. I emailed them the order that day and called Monday to confirm only to be told by the man that now this is a rush order that would typically be done by Friday, but they will do it for the same price as long as I bring them business in the future. Sure - no problem! I immediately gave my billing information and they charged my card that night. I figured since I was charged and confirmed the order we were good to go. Wednesday rolls around and once I got out of work, I was surprised to see two emails from the man I spoke with asking me to confirm the proofs, but I immediately called to confirm. A lady picks up and is kind to me about it, but in the background I hear the man huffing and puffing. A couple minutes after I get off the phone he calls me back -- to YELL at me for not getting back to him right away that day! Excuse me, but I was at work and you've already charged my card, why wouldn't you confirm the proofs right away as well instead of waiting last minute?! He tells me he is now losing money on my order (mind you, it was 300 vinyl stickers, I cannot imagine that it costs that much to print especially since it wasn't cheap to begin with). I ask him what on earth he wishes to accomplish by yelling at me, and tells me I should be THANKING him for what he's doing. Sure, thanks for doing your job? It was never made transparent to me that the work on my end wasn't done yet, and you'd think that if this is such a "rush job" he would have ensured I had approved the proofs for him immediately, just as he had no issue charging my card right away. To make matters worse, when my boyfriend goes to pick the stickers up they weren't even individually cut - and I specifically was charged extra to have them cut. Of course the man also chooses to yell at my boyfriend there as well. So long story short, super unprofessional and probably the most insulting customer experience I have ever had. Nope. read more

After months of searching for just the right printer to execute my complicated t-shirt designs, I stumbled upon Village Digital. I knew from our very first meeting, that I had found THE ONE, with the owner Hortencio. Hortencio patiently worked with me through multiple rounds of set ups and sampling, perfecting the cuts, colors and placements of my vinyl heat transfers. He would laughingly say, "You better be glad I like a challenge!" He and his staff couldn't have been more helpful, friendly and professional. They held my hand through the whole process. This review is way way overdue. We were celebrating my father's 90th birthday and I wanted to surprise my brother and my dad with a T-shirt of the two of them that is one of the greatest photos ever taken in my opinion. I emailed village digital and received a response almost immediately from Sheri. She was extremely helpful and so on it! I had not given her a whole lot of time to work on this because I had just thought of it about a week before the party. She handled everything so beautifully, so professionally and was just so amazing to work with. I completely understand what people say about the business being downstairs and a little bit of a problem to find and perhaps a little bit of a pain in the neck to bring up boxes or whatever you have ordered, but she helped me with a smile on her face and was so sweet. I would never go anywhere else. After the party when I needed a few extra items, again she was so sweet and was on it immediately. Just a great experience! read more

Hmm, looks like some folks have had some bad experiences with this place. I've done 4 total orders with them over the past few years. 2 orders for 200 CDs with color jewel cases and color labels. 2 orders for 100 CDs with paper sleeves and labels. Both times they were able to get the product to me as ordered in record time (1-2 days) and at costs that are cheaper than any alternatives I've looked for. Have yet to have a bad experience with them, so 5 stars. read more

I wanted to get 2 custom made t-shirts for the Orange Con event in the summer. I needed them to be done in just a couple of days and everyone at Village Digital was so helpful. I looked at other places but they all required for a big order of 10+ shirts. They gave me the instructions as to what type of file I had to send and advised me as to what method would be best for my type of design and the shirt color I wanted to use. I decided on a black shirt with white and orange vinyl transfer. Emailed them the file, and stopped by their store to explain the placement of the text. The attention I received was exceptional. A day and a half later they had them ready. It was so easy and the quality was exactly what I was looking for too. We used Village Digital last year for T-shirts, and I was afraid that after multiple washer/dryer cycles the color would run, but it's still crystal clear and of great quality. Our shirts were for a Pride event, and printing rainbow colors was difficult to find on-line, but Gomez and his team did a really fantastic job. Always prefer supporting my local businesses. This one is around the block from me. I had a very odd printing job with a next day deadline. They took it and returned it at a very good price. People are great. Don't expect museum output, do expect a reasonable print and good prices. They also have long sleeved t-shirts they print on. Excuse me while I prep that file. I regret ever using this service. I was swindled out of $150. I instructed a worker to contact me before sending out an order for 150 CD's and he did not. While I requested them sent the cheapest way possible (via mail), I was never given the option for a tracking number. They sent the CD's, I never received them. After 22 days of waiting and trying to deal with their terrible communication skills - which were blaming and defensive, they refused to budge, offer compensation, re-make the order or even meet half-way in the process. They took no responsibility for the potential of human error on their part - (Who knows if the person sending the CD's even wrote the correct address to my home?). They are crooks and thieves with no ability to communicate through errors or problems whatsoever. I highly recommend no one ever uses this service, unless you expect to be ripped off, condescended to and stolen from. read more

Terrible job. I ordered 2 small cd/cd jacket runs here. Many of the cds don't play at all, and the ones that do are glitchy. They also showed up 4 days later than they were supposed to, which I overlooked since they waived the delivery fee due to their lateness. Also, the artwork didn't line up perfectly - I was willing to overlook that as well, since none of the text was cut off. But I'm getting more and more reports that the cd's themselves are faulty. I rarely write reviews but I wanted to write one for Village Digital. I had a last minute gift I needed to get and decided to get a customized t-shirt. I served on Yelp and found this shop, I only needed 2 t's and wasn't sure they would do such a small quantity, I went to the basement shop and was greeted by the graphic designer and then Chery the owner, they were very professional and friendly. I told them I needed the goods asap, they told me to pick it up tomorrow but I need it earlier then that. Chery then ask me to call her after closing and said that she'll make it happen, true to her word, I was able to pick the shirts up that same day, this is what I all excellent service.
