I just purchased a "Custom Drive Cart", it looks like a mini hummer that's all decked out. This cart has a keyless start, power steering, disk breaks!! COLOR IS COOL AND EXTREME COMFORT OF SEATS. Chris is the manager who treated me like gold. He was very enthused about this Custom Drive and all of its safety measures for us baby boomers. Chris directed me to John, who is the most honest and respectful sales man that I ever met. John explained the entire process of buying the Custom Drive. Corey delivered the Custom Drive in a timely fashion and again went over all the details small and large concerning the cart. Horrible. Should be able to rate minus number of stars. We bought a cart little over 1 year ago with proported to be "all new" remanufactured cart with a full 5-yr parts & labor warranty. Complete and outright lies from salesman Perry Meinert. Have had it in for loud screeching countless times, always told it was fixed-Not! Now was leaking oil in garage and they came and took it in. Told 3 days later it had a bad differential (wow-we were told was "new" a year ago with a 5 year guarantee. Now have to pay another $125 Just to get the scrappy bucket of bolts back. They claim the Windshield is DOT, yet DOT windshields include a stamp which theirs do not. meaning, without a stamp you are not able to drive this cart on county roads and nor are they "village discount golf carts" able to source a DOT approved windshield which is required for plates and registration. Bought a new Custom Drive C2 from Villages Discount Golf Car summer '24. Since then, they have an upgraded motor and drive, called 5K. We had a 4K and encountered issues when slowing down. Our new golf carts arrived today from Villages Discount Golf Car in Coleman, Florida (just a few miles down the road). We originally purchased a 4-seater Club Car Onward gas cart from the family from whom we purchased our house, but found that it was not great to take on the golf course. It had never been used for golf, and our clubs fell off even when (seemingly) securely strapped in. It also didn't have a basket, cooler or sand bottle. Villages Discount Golf Car gave us exactly what we paid for our cart as a trade-in when we purchased 2 Yamaha 2-seater gas carts from them. They also discounted the invoice price for purchasing 2 carts from them. The other golf cart company in The Villages offered us 60% of what we paid for our cart in trade, and would only discount $250 on the purchase of the second cart only. Plus, Discount Golf Car will drive to our house to service the carts, when needed. Susan was great to work with, no hard sell, and really knows how to keep the customers happy. The store manager, Glen verbally abused me, insulted, and interrogated me about my decision. He refused to refund my money, and told me, "Make an appointment with me to see my in my office, and we'll discuss it. I'm really busy, so good luck getting an appointment!" I left the store nearly in tears. I waited four days and no refund. I contacted the overall manager, Tom, that I would dispute this through my credit card company. We have purchased two Yamaha Drive 2 carts from these folks. One a 2019 and the other a 2021. Both, within the first year had some issues, but the company stops behind them and made things right. Ask them if they replace the fuel gauge on their 2017 but reconditioned like-new Yamaha quietech carts. Just spent nearly $500 in replacing a fuel pump. Cart was driven very little in the 1 and a half yrs since sale and not just parked for months as I am a full time resident. No odometer on these reconditioned carts! Live and learn! They did replace the battery at the one year mark since it was failing. Also the upholstery job was shoddy and staples were showing along with raw edge. Several months ago we purchased our Evolution golf cart from Villages Discount Golf Cars at a good price with very helpful assistance from our sales person Susan. They were cooperative with holding the cart until it was convenient for us to pick up the cart. After a few months my wife had problems with the impact on her leg from the stiff ride of the cart and we contacted them about it. They picked up the cart and the technicians determined that the low profile tires should be replaced with standard profile tires to soften the ride. They replaced the tires with standard profile tires at no charge and that cured the problem. We are very happy with our Evolution cart, it is well made and after taking it on several long rides the cart gets the mileage claimed for the battery. I feel confident going anywhere in the villages and the charging time is a few hours. Fred read more

The supposed 5 year warranty is bogus. It's actually a 1 year and 5 year for only the drive train. Bought a 2019 in 2020 and I had problems in the 2nd and 3rd year with the belt, the spark arrestor, the windshield, the cooler placement ripping the back cover. They would not honor any of it due to the drive train clause. Would not buy from them again. I only drive it 2 days a week for golf so not much wear and tear. read more

We purchased our cart from Village Discount Golf in January 2022. We have broken down 3 times due to battery issues. The cart has been in their shop 4 times, for more than a week each time. They claimed they fixed a sensor. Battery still does not hold a charge. Was told a month ago that we need a new lithium battery (under warranty). So far, no battery and no cart. Management claims that Corporate is refusing to send a new battery. Management refuses to replace our cart, since they can't seem to fix it and honor our warranty. Don't waste your money at this business. Selling point 5 year unlimited warranty multiplied services and cart is still very loud and makes a rubbing/clicking noise when turning from the rear of cart. Repeated services still being told no issues with cart. Upholstery seat had extra material driver side, company came and took cart for repair, brought back with a hole by passenger side on the underside of seat. didn't see this until gas was needed, reported, then sent photos as they requested, told because of the pandemic it may be awhile. Four months later still no repair. Called two weeks ago to inquire found that there are new owners, not any better then previous owners! I purchased a 2022 Yamaha Quietech golf cart from Village Discount Golf Car and took delivery on May 31. On delivery I noted oil leaking on the driveway, brakes squealing, rough bouncy ride, and fuel gage went from full to half in short ride. Dealer picked up cart next day. I told the salesman I didn't want the cart back and would like a refund of the total amount paid. Instead they returned the cart on June 3 in same condition and was advised there was nothing wrong with it. On June 12, an independent mechanic inspected the cart. He noted that there was an oil leak, brakes were extremely dirty, tires were underinflated to less than 20 psi vs 35 psi recommended, and even after inflating to correct pressure the cart was bouncing excessively likely due to defective tires or rims. On June 13 the cart died while on short drive around the neighborhood and I had it towed home. On June 14 the dealer picked up the cart and delivered a refund check less 25% "restocking fee". I never agreed to pay a restocking fee for returning a defective golf cart. The manager Chris Shackleford refused to meet with me or return phone calls read more

I bought one of their refurbished Yamaha QuietTech carts in July 2023. I waited almost a year to write a review because I wanted to see how the cart performed over a period of time. What brought me to their store was the insane price of a new cart. You can purchase a decent car for what a new cart costs and there is no way I was going to pay that for a golf cart. The cart I purchased came with a lot of accessories such as self cancelling turn signals, extra lighting, screen for the front window for the warmer months, etc. To date I have had zero issues with it. it runs good and I have driven it a lot. To be honest it has exceeded my expectation. I knew it was a refurb and you never know exactly what you are getting when buying a refurbished product of any kind. I am happy with my purchase and if I needed another golf cart I would probably purchase from them again as the buying process and dealing with the salesman was painless. read more

Terrible experience with Village Discount cart. Purchased cart in Aug 2017, we are "snowbirds" and only here in the winter months so the cart is used then. Have been stranded multiple times with sporadic electrical issues. Each time it has to be picked up for service I get charged, they tell me these are separate non related issues. #1 short in turn signal, #2 oil leak, #3 Electrical issue, #4Electrical issue (supposed bad battery), #5 Electrical issue ( 2nd battery replacement in week), #6 Electrical issue (3rd battery replacement in 2 weeks) #7 Voltage Regulator/loose wire) #8 Electrical issue (after 5 blown main fuses, fuse link replaced) #9 Electrical issue (lights flicker, GPS cuts out randomly) All this with a cart with 202 hours on the meter, BS!!!!
