Yesterday, I had two failed attempts at other jewelers who said they could replace the batteries in my 30 yr old Rado's. One of them was Mike' watch repair, and upon picking up my watches, I found a chip in the face of one of them. Mike insisted he did nothing to it, but it wasn't chipped before I took it in. I went back to looking online for a watch repair, and found Village Goldsmith Jewelers. I called, and again was told that they could change the batteries. So I drove up to Ormond and showed them one of the watches. The assured me they could do the job, and quickly changed the battery of the one I handed them. They assured me that, unlike other jewelers, they actually were very knowledgeable in high end watch repair. With that, I handed over the other two watches. I was informed that one of the watches had no gasket, probably lost in a prior battery replacement. They actually had a gasket on site to fix it! When I got the bill, it was LESS than what Mike's watch repair was going to charge me! I highly recommend the Village Goldsmith Jewelers for any watch repairs. Absolutely the greatest!!!!!! cannot say enough amazing praises about this place!!!! Starting with the compassion and feeling of special attention given by Ashleigh--( brought in my watch for repairs, not a fancy watch at all. But very sentimental to me because of the giver. ) Ashleigh treated the watch like it was special not only to me--but to the store as well!! Brian talked and treated me like an old friend--(although this was my very first time )-- with respect and gave me a feeling of assurance and confidence that he would put his all into the job! He did not disappoint!! Extremely quick turn-around on the repair-which I prepared myself for at least one full week--took only two days!!! Final result, they replaced the broken part with a low profile part--( which I forgot to request )....but was done because Brian overheard me telling Ashleigh how it broke in the first place. I had a watch that needed a battery. Two other local jewelers were unable to help me. Village Goldsmith replaced it while I waited. I also had a small clock that was not working. As it turned out, the mechanism had broken because of improper "repair" by another jeweler. The cost of the new insert was not worth it to me, but Village Goldsmith suggested I try and find one on the internet and provided me with the exact information I needed on what to look for. I entered the store with four watches. Brian helped me decide which were worth repairing. I left the store with three watches, all perfectly fit and in working order. Both men working in the store were friendly and courteous. The work was done quickly and the fee for repairs was most reasonable. I took my new Citizen watch in to have the band adjusted to fit my wrist. I had never used their store in the past but was treated like I was a family member! They were very busy but immediately attended to my request to adjust my watch band. They were courteous, respectful, and treated me like I was a known high valued customer. Went to the village Goldsmiths on Hand Ave in Ormond today to have a broken necklace of my Mom's fixed I t took minutes and we were out the door no charge. I found this place a few years ago and have taken lots of broken peices to fix. Doesn't matter if it is real or costume . They are happy to help .
