Great selection of used vinyl at the best prices I've ever seen. Every time I'm back in Muncie I stop by the Village Green. Here are some examples of cool stuff I've found there: Television - Adventure. First pressing. Literally $10 cheaper than a copy I saw in Austin just a few weeks before. Kinks - Muswell Hillbillies. First US pressing. Half the price I've seen elswhere. Miles Davis - Get Up With It. I already had a copy, but Travis was selling it for a steal relative to what I paid. Wanted to follow up since I stop by here pretty frequently. Last time I was in I bought ten records or so. Big highlight was a first pressing of the Kinks' "Something Else" on Reprise. I had just paid $40 for a copy on Ebay (after having missed out on a few that went upwards of $70). Travis was charging less than half of what I paid on Ebay! read more

This is the spot. Travis sells records for cheaper than anywhere you can find them online and you get the sweet satisfaction of supporting an awesome local business. He's got everything... and if he doesn't, he will order it and recommend something different yet in the same vain for you to check out in the mean time. Plus he usually knocks a little off the top if you are willing to try something new. I also like to support this place because he does a lot for the local music scene by not only putting on shows in the front yard but he helps promote shows and brings great acts to other local venues. This place has been important to Muncie since it's inception and I'm glad Travis carries the torch so triumphantly. Go give hime a bunch of your money. read more

This place is a DJ/Producer's last refuge in this new age of digital consumerism. You can come in and speak with the owner directly and he'll help you find whatever you need. Beyond that, if he doesn't have what you want in stock he can order it for you, or suggest other artists that he feels you'd equally enjoy. In all of the times I've shopped here I've never been dissatisfied because of that fact. I'd come looking for Zedd and end up with Justice, Daft Punk, and even the Zedd album i wanted. VGR is no joke so get down here and enjoy a REAL record store with all the trimmings. read more

It's pretty stand up for a small time operation on a college campus. The atmosphere works well for what they are trying to accomplish and the selection is average. It's worth a visit if your in Muncie, but here the reason they are missing a star. There is a certain level of faux-hipster attitude that leaves you wondering if your pants are tight enough to shop here. If you're looking for a better record store in Muncie try Dan's Downtown records, which in my opinion is the best in Indiana. read more

One of the best record stores on the planet. The owner, Travis, is exceptional at making recommendations and he gets even better as the relationship between music consumer and proprietor matures. If you consider yourself to be a fan of music, than you owe it to yourself to spend some time at VGR. There is no substitute for developing a personal relationship with a well-run record store. While various platforms such as Pandora and Spotify may sound appealing, they pale in comparison. read more

Easily the best record store I've ever set foot in. Travis (the proprietor) is knowledgeable beyond belief on music and pretty much any other subject I've thought up. And the prices are, by far, the lowest I've ever seen. Not sure if that's because it's in Muncie or because Travis has good connections and is a stand-up guy. I suspect it's the latter. I ordered a record online through Amazon from them and I couldn't have been happier! I have been searching and searching and this was the only place I could find the record I wanted (San diego doesn't have the best selection) and my package showed up a day earlier then I was expecting (which was such a pleasant thing to come home to) and it had the nicest note written on the back:) hopefully I can visit in person and I will defiantly be ordering from VGR again!!! read more

Love VGR! Always a great selection of new & used vinyl, tapes & CDs at fair prices. Every time I go in Travis turns me on to some new music & he hasn't steered me wrong yet. They also carry local artists albums & do a lot for the community hosting shows, etc. They pay fair prices for your old stuff too as I sold a big chunk of my collection & was more than happy with the offer. Travis has such a vast knowledge of music and such a friendly personality that it makes it almost impossible to walk out of his store without purchasing some great, new tunes. The selection can accommodate anyone's musical preferences and you are guaranteed to leave happy. This establishment is a staple of Ball State's village and I think the people of the university would be greatly missing out if Travis was to ever leave. read more

Support special needs businesses! I stopped in here the other day and was delighted to speak to Travis and check out his cool record collection! He may have severe autism and several learning disabilities but boy does he sure love his music! His parents are great for paying for this space and giving him a job to keep him occupied...we need more people and places like this in our community...and boy does he love the Kinks! read more

It is awesome that this place is in my home town - Muncie, Indiana. I now live in Austin, TX which has two of the top 50 record stores in the US, and I go record shopping whenever I visit a new city for work, but Village Green is among my favorite shops. For many years I have enjoyed shopping at VGR. It is an awesome venue for up and coming bands in the area as well. Best place to buy CD's in Muncie hands down. They have great selection, good prices, and occasionally put on cool events. The owner is really friendly and on top of it all times. I can't even begin to estimate how much money I've spent here over the years. Definitely recommended. read more

Floors are dirty, honestly looks more like an unfinished basement than a store, employees were rude and off putting. Wouldn't go here again or recommend. Claims to be a "record store" but it's just a handful of bins of garbage. Wouldn't call it a legitimate business read more
