My Experience with Village Honda I purchased a 2013 F-150 here for $13,900. The AMVIC and fitness reports claimed the truck was all good, but even during the test drive with their salesman, we both noticed a shudder--like the truck was trying to dance to the wrong rhythm. It turns out it's the torque converter. I asked them to meet me halfway on the repair cost. After all, we both noticed the issue before the sale, and I'm not asking for a free ride. But their response? Cold as a January morning in Alberta. They refused any help. After spending that kind of money, I expected at least a cooperative chat. Instead, I got the silent treatment and a door slam. I wouldn't recommend them if you value after-sale support. They sold me a truck with a known issue and left me stranded in the repair lane alone. read more

Bought a CRV hybrid from them 9 months ago. The vehicle seems to be ok but i haven't learned to use the features very well. They really fell short in giving an overview of what it can do and how to use the screen. It has been trial and error and ChatGPT to figure things out. Their online tutorials fall just short of useless. The vehicle beeps at me when I walk away and try to lock it and service just shrugs. The car is ok. I don't recommend village Honda. read more

I had a horrible experience with this dealership. I was dealing with a sales person for over an hour and we were almost at a deal. We had even taken two test drives and decided on a car and were now talking payment. Then the sales manager came in and sat down and started to get conversationally aggressive towards us. My wife was genuinely scared and almost started to cry. I had to stop the salesperson from talking and gently hold and reasure her to calm her down. It was unbelievable how the sales manager treated us. I highly recommend that no one ever go here. read more

This place is hilariously bad. Service is so bad, it feels like they have a deep disdain for customers. Requests to test drive or even view a vehicle is met with impatience and derision. Followed by long waits (15 minutes before we walked out after observing a nearly empty sales floor and lots of sales people standing around doing nothing but having some laughs). I bought a Honda from the dealer in Airdrie (night and day service and sales) and subsequently tried to call to schedule service at Village Honda because it's closer. I need service on an open recall that popped up in my Honda link app. They said they couldn't help me because they weren't sure what the recall was even though I can see exactly what it is and read the detailed description right from the notice; they said it was my problem. Village Honda did my brakes a year ago and then the brakes failed. The Service department when I contacted them asked me to call back as they were too busy to deal with this. When I called again, the service department said they would call back and the service manager would call me as well. never heard back. Honda Village abandoned me with no brakes and no ability to bring the vehicle in. They made no effort to rectify the issue. When I did finally speak to the service manager he said the brakes failing was a result of a flaw in the vehicle design. But there is no recall on the vehicle to resolve the issue leaving drivers to risk their lives since Honda does not actually do all the work required to maintain the vehicle safety. Took my vehicle to another service center and was advised that the brakes had not been fully maintained and the other issued I had been advised about did not exist. this was a hole in my oil pan but there was none. The radiator was leaking but Village Honda did not advise. Had the radiator replaced with the brake repair at the other service station. I would not recommend Village Honda as this is my second incident that my vehicle has failed and both times it was due to the lack of work being completed and safety inspections not done. read more

With my current car now over 300,000 km and blowing blue smoke, I decided it was time for a new one. Since I had good luck with my Civic up until about 5 days ago, I decided to stick with a good thing. I searched online and found a two year old Civic EX-L that fit the bill perfectly: it had under 10,000 km, it had one previous owner, it was a nice colour, and it was one of the top trims (which means it came with most of the amenities that I probably couldn't afford if I bought new, which I convinced myself I would never do). I phoned the dealership and set up an appointment for a test drive on Monday. This was Saturday morning. On Monday, I got a voicemail from another salesman (we'll call him "Joe") that said the car I wanted was sold, but that there was another one there that was available. I looked up the stock number, and it was black (which I didn't want) and had 15,000 additional km on it. Oh, and it was a "bargain" at $600 more! I emailed the original salesman and told him since the car sold, I wouldn't be coming in for a test drive (it's just under an hour from my house to the dealership). He phoned me about an hour later and nonchalantly told me that he had sold the car on Saturday night, but not to worry because there was an "identical" one there for me. I told him no, it wasn't identical. I didn't want black and it had way more kilometers on it. He said he would keep his eye out and if something came in he would call me. I don't care that he sold the car when I had an appointment to test it (and unless it stunk like a teenager's feet smothered with unrefrigerated Brie, I had every intention of buying it), because that's just business. What I care about is that this guy was knowingly pulling a bait-and-switch on me. He knew -- for three days -- that this car was unavailable for me, but never told me so I would still come in. I don't appreciate being swindled or lead on. Remember the voicemail from "Joe"? He apologized that the car was still showing as available on the web site, and that it was only there because it sold "late Saturday night". It is now "late Monday night" and the car is still listed on their site as available. Classy. (Edit on 2/15/2012: It's now Wednesday night, and the car is still showing as available on the Crowfoot Village Honda web site.) I have since taken my business to Mazda, where I bought a brand new car because of the fuel economy on the 2012 engine (with the amount I drive, the fuel savings will easily offset the savings I would have obtained from a car that had depreciated 2-3 years). Having had a horrible experience at CMP Auto, I was definitely fearful of dealing with another dealership - any dealership. But - I needed a reliable vehicle and took the dangerous plunge by driving into Crowfoot Village Honda. Lucky me, I was met at the door by a very nice man named Lee Gogel. He was kind, pleasant, truthful, down-to-earth and respectful. When I wanted to take one of the used vehicles elsewhere for a pre-purchase appraisal - no problem. Lee has a whole slew of "Thank You" cards lined up by his desk and yes, I know what you're thinking - and no, he did not send them to himself. When I had questions after I bought a vehicle, he actually called me back!! Wow! I guess after CMP, I set the bar pretty low but I really was very pleased with how I was treated at Crowfoot Village Honda by Lee. Wes Simpson took care of the financing part, sharing his veggies with me while he set up the loan. They are both terrifically nice and when I need another car, that is who I'll check out. This is a yelp review for both the incredible Village Honda and my amazing car insurance Intact insurance. I had a really really terrible week this week, including 1 million things that have all gone wrong and financially completely strapping me including a $30,000 divorce that I totally can't afford. Plus on top of everything else I had a car accident and I have a brand new car insurance company called Intact. There was enough damage to my car to make me worry that Intact would just write it off which I've heard is always a terrible thing to do. But it was slightly driveable so I drove it to Village Honda where I get my twice yearly lube oil filters done and I know the staff are amazing especially the super Murray Haskayne (yes - he is from THAT very famous family)...... As soon as I arrived the shuttle driver pointed out that my license plate stickers were out of date by six months adding to my stress level and I almost started crying on top of everything. He was so attentive and sweet and helpful he actually thought it was because of him that I was almost crying but it was actually because of everything mostly the accident. Because I'm from Toronto I didn't know that for some crazy reason 99% of all car rental places are closed on the weekends in Calgary I don't know why- I think that's insane, in fact people would more usually need to rent a car on a weekend would you not think? This amazing shuttle driver brought me around to the most senior people in the company including the general manager Chris and somehow finally found a loaner via much ultra help from Tyler Sweet which they gave to me and I've driven it for almost a week for free which shows how trusting they are if they knew what a terrible driver I was. So thank you so much Village Honda and thank you also extremely to my Insurance Adjuster @Intact Insurance because as soon as he heard that I love the Toronto Maple Leafs he saved me 50% of my deductible!!!!!!I'll bet this is the first and only time that somebody saved $500 just because they are a leafs fan. We went there to buy a used civic. Salesman showed us a few and said no accidents on any of them. We agreed to buy one only to find out after that it was rear ended. When we tried to get our money back the next day he gave us another vehicle to test for a day. Also claimed it was accident free. When we got home we discovered it had a full paint job and was probably rebuilt as many parts didn't align. So again we tried a full refund for our deposit but couldn't get it because some manager wasn't there!!! Anyway went back again 3 days later and refunded money without any signature or approval from manager. All we did was mention that we called Amvic about this situation. Around 5 months ago my CR-V lease was up and I was looking to upgrade to a Pilot. I had previously purchased from a dealership out of town, who always gave me excellent service, but wanted to give my local dealership in the NW a chance when it came to my new vehicle. Right off the bat their salesperson seemed completely disinterested. I ran through the specification of Pilot I wanted, he took notes, said "don't worry we'll beat your current dealership to your business" then promised to call me back - he never did. I love my new Pilot, bought from the same dealer I got the CR-V from. I will never go back to Village Honda, despite them being the closest to my home - not even for servicing - they obviously didn't want my custom or probably hoped I'd come back begging. DON'T BUY A USED VEHICLE FROM VILLAGE HONDA!!!! They will want to charge you a whopping $400 "VPP" (Vehicle Processing Payment ) - basically an unecessary paperwork charge that will increase your cost - OTHER DEALERSHIPS DO NOT DO THIS!!! This dealership is a long way from us but we decided to head up to check out a used Honda that looked like a good deal. After experiencing a negative, stressful high pressure negotiating experience with salesman Lee, we decided to call Rob (General Sales Manager) in the hopes of finding a more sympathetic ear and some better help with crunching numbers on the deal. Unfortunately, this was not the case - we were offered prices that were too expensive based on our calculations and given more negative attitude to boot! 10/23/2009 First to Review (transferred) Village Honda repair services and customer relations are pretty darn good. They fix your car properly the FIRST TIME. I've been using them for 8 years now and I've learned they are completely committed to pleasing their customers. Automotive servicing is not an easy business but Village Honda has the right attitude and approach. They keep improving their operations, adding little touches to make sure customers are happy and things are done efficiently and cheerfully, etc. And, surprisingly, for most Honda mechanical repairs, their work is NOT EXPENSIVE compared to independent shops. I shop around for major work so I have learned. For example, a 24,000 km interval transmission flush at Village Honda is less than half the price of the same service at a transmission specialty shop. I found the same for disk brake replacement service. I think the biggest reason for this is they don't do anything unless it's absolutely necessary per Honda Canada service guidelines. So, if you own a Honda and live in Northwest Calgary, you're in luck. Update: March 31, 2010 There seems to be two Crowfoot Village Honda's in YELP. I brought my old civic in for a service and to keep it functioning. Just wanted a basic inspection and fluids topped off. They gave some recommended repairs which I declined. When I got the bill I was blown away by how expensive it was. Over $1000 for some basics. The cost of their strongly recommenced repairs would have been way more than my car was worth. I took my car to another trusted shop later only to discover that my fluids hadn't been replaced and that their recommended repairs were not needed or accurate. This place is a complete rip off and not trustworthy! Stay away and go somewhere else! read more

This review is for the parts group specifically. Have been there twice in the last two weeks to get some stuff for my Odyssey. Both times, I was greeted by the girls at service .... and then had the privilege of waiting around for 15 minutes. No updates, no information, nothing. Once greeted, the girls at service had more interest in their staplers than their customers. The 2nd time, I was with my 3 year old son. I just didn't have time to wait for Crowfoot Honda staff to learn how to communicate, so I Ieft. I'm pretty stunned by this behaviour - but I guess they make a great case through their customer service for ordering parts from the US. The time and grief savings alone pay for the time lost waiting for these guys to regain consciousness. read more

I rarely feel compelled to provide detailed feedback. After 8 years as an owner, I will be discontinuing my relationship with Honda (with the exception of recalls). The reason - outright misrepresentation by the service department at Village Honda in Calgary. The summary - I had my vehicle in for regular service. I received the customary phone call to review the service work as well as the dealership recommended work. The recommended work list was extensive - front brakes ($650), inner tie rod ends ($450), spark plugs ($350) and a valve adjustment ($750). Wow. I questioned the service advisor about the work and when they were unable to support why the valve adjustment or spark plugs needed to be changed, I opted not to proceed. Over $1000 in work that you support with ... 'well its recommended'? No codes, no mechanical issues, no real reason to fix something not broken. I declined the work and let the advisor know I would call around for another opinion. So, 2 quotes from reputable local service shops later - I had work completed elsewhere. Both shop owners openly questioned the valve adjustment as the engine runs perfectly. One shop pulled the plugs in good faith; to find the platinum plugs are in excellent condition. Both shops reported brakes at 80%+. The right inner tie rod end was the lone component that needed to be replaced. Honda - almost $2000. New service provider $300. The hilarious irony - Village Honda called me back to offer to price match! You had the chance to be honest when you had my vehicle in your shop - on a hoist. All that was required was integrity. Due to that distinct lack thereof, I will never frequent a Honda dealership again. That, and I will extoll the virtues of an honest owner of a local repair shop. I just convinced my brother to buy an Odyssey because we love ours so much. My next call is to let him know where to get it serviced. Regards, read more

A horrible experience with Village Honda. We were not explain lease payments details and the rules. Sales person just gave us documents to sign. That was our third dealership that day, so we were tired and thought that we finally found the car we were looking for. Coming home we found that the dealership is overcharging document managing fees. All other dealerships did not have that and we checked 6 or 7 in total. We also decided that we can go with just 1 car in family for a while. What was our surprise when we came back to return the deposit and there were no politeness nor smiles anymore. Sales people did not want to deal with us. Our sales guy Ali, that missed to explain anything to us was referring to his boss all the time. The boss just looked at us and told that we signed all documents required and the car is ours now. We just filled in a lease application and did not sign the final documents at all. The story is not over yet. However, there are many Honda dealerships in Calgary and I do not recommend anyone to deal with the Village Honda. read more

BEWARE. Village Honda is not trustworthy at all. I've been through the ringer with this dealership. On May 13/18 I invested $20,000 on a 2013 Ford Escape. I paid for it and within half an hour of me driving it off the lots there's been huge issues. Huge issues that they hide on a $20,000 vehicle! My dad moved out of town so I'm on my own for car shopping. I'm a single independent woman, who knows little about newer vehicles and unfortunately these guys have made me loose faith in humanity. I trusted them. They screwed me and as the months have passed more and more has come to light and now they won't even return phone calls or book me an appointment with a manager. The Sync system went black and they told me that my iphone6 was messing with it and that I needed a new phone. After 2 overnights without my SUV and it still not working, I took it to another dealership and there was a recall on it for that exact issue! Then within 2 weeks of purchase, the vehicle was dying constantly. I was getting it jumped every few days. I took it to Advantage Ford and the tech there told me the battery was sold to me at 30%. It wouldn't even hold a charge. So Village reluctantly paid for a new battery. I live downtown and driving slower and over speed bumps I could hear a slight klunking in the front of the vehicle. I was told to not worry about it and that I'm not used to a newer vehicle engine sound. So I trusted that. After 5 weeks of owning it I saw my dad, he got into the SUV and instantly commented on the klunking. I called Sean Ochosky (sales manager) at Village again, and he raised his voice and said that at some point I have to take vehicle ownership responsibility. And that my dad doesn't know anything. I raised my voice back and made sure he knows that my dad is a licensed mechanic 20+ years, licences airplane mechanic and one of the best turbine engine mechanics. But it's not my dads problem to fix it, it's theirs. So I had to bring my SUV in again and sure enough, the ball joints were worn down to nothing and it was a $300 fix. And another 2 days without my vehicle. By this point I have invested every day off dealing with this for over almost 2 months. No compensation. I just bought new tires for the SUV because yes, it was sold to me with absolutely no tred. I had taken the vehicle to KalTire, Canadian Tire, and Mr. Lube. All who suggested I get new tires as soon as possible because of the condition of them. When I had new tires put on at Mr. Lube they informed me that these jerks sold me the vehicle, which is a 4 wheel drive super charge engine, with 1 totally different tire on the back with different tred. Which is pretty serious. Because that messes with the drive train. And on top of it, that rim is completely bent. So I'll need new rims too eventually. Now I've owned this vehicle for 4 months and the drivers side door is broken, the silver Ford decals are coming off on both sides. The plastic that goes around the window and the piece that goes around the wheel to protect the paint are all coming off. It's literally the biggest disappointment of my life. I saved for 5 years to buy my first expensive investment vehicle. At this point I will not deal with Sean Ochoscky because he tries to mask all the problems and always tells me that there is no problem. When every time I've been right and legit about my concerns. I have now spoken to the sales manager in Service Chris Robertson, who was helpful at the time, and I explained my case in detail, he told me that he would give the information to someone higher up who can help me. And NO ONE HAS CALLED ME and it's been a month. I've been more than patient. Kind and professional. Emotional at times because I feel like they stole my $20,000 and this vehicle is worth $10,000 at the very most. I want to trade it for another one because I do not trust it and this entire horrible experience has taken away from my "special new vehicle purchase". Now it's a burden that's costing me so much time and money. Next I call AMVIC and see what they can do to help me. At 120,000km was told by Village Honda's Service Dept. it was time to get a new timing belt for my 2007 and it would cost $710 unless I wanted to risk severe damage to my engine. Decided to call around. Was told by another Honda dealer's service department that Honda Canada says timing belts don't need to be changed until 160,000 kms (the MM4 service). Without knowing I had talked to VH, the other dealer quoted $550 parts & labour to do it. You can draw your own conclusions from my experience. ;-) read more

This review is for the Service Center. I visited the service center 5 times in the first year after I purchased my new accord. All 5 visits I received horrible customer service. I had my car in to have a spoiler installed (which took 2 days!). When I picked it up, it had a large scratch on the rear bumper. At this point my car was only a week old, so I knew that it had happened during this visit. After speaking to my service provider about, he proceeded to accuse me of having scratched the car myself. Nice! So after they agreed to fix the scratch which I had to make another appt for (could only get in 2 months later) they told me it would take another 2 days to fix. Since I need my car to get to work they said they would loan me a courtesy car. When I dropped my car off they said they had no courtesy cars available to I would have to go over to enterprise to get a rental... 2 hours later, I was on my way in a ford focus. Now that is customer service! When I picked my car up 2 days later, it had an additional 60 kms on it. Hmmm, were they using it for their own personal errands since they told me it just went to the body shop across the street. Again, I asked to speak to the manager and they told me he wasn't available but would call me. He never did. It's sad to say I would have received free oil changes for 3 years from Village, but as we know, nothing in this life is free! I now pay and drive half way across the city to T and T for the customer service. I have never had a problem there. read more

The service department has poor workmanship and is dishonest. I went to Village Honda a few months ago to get the wheel bearings on my Civic fixed. The rear passenger side was making noises. Upon inspecting the vehicle, Honda pointed out that the front driver's side needed maintenance too. We agreed and got both bearings fixed. Within the month, the noise started coming back, and gradually got worse. I took the vehicle back last week to get the same rear passenger side bearing looked at. After an inspection they wanted to charge me $118 for, we were told that it was the rear driver's side causing issues this time! This clearly wasn't the case because 1) the noise was coming from the passenger's side and 2) the mechanic inspected all four bearings our first visit and there was nothing wrong with that one - and if there was it started falling apart within a month which makes me question their technical expertise! I argued these points with Heather, the service coordinator and asked to speak to the mechanic. She told me she would call me back. I waited from 11am and didn't get a message back until 4pm telling me to pick up the car. Honda had apparently fixed the rear passenger (which I had suspected was the problem to begin with) and any residual noise is from the winter tires. However, I recieved zero paperwork AND my car still makes the same noises - which is not "from the tires". Also, zero explanation on why they would say it was the driver's side rear - complete lie to charge me for services I didn't require??? Looking back at my experience here, I wonder if there was any issues with the front drivers side bearing the first time because there was zero noise there. Also, nothing was fixed and I'm left with the same problems I had before my first visit - except my wallet is much lighter. I recently took my Honda Fit to Village Honda to have the winter tires put on. While it was being serviced, someone accidentally backed into my car. The service manager, Jeff, called me immediately and explained the situation. He offered to have it looked after promptly and gave me a loaner car to drive in the meantime. Just got my car back today and the work was perfect. Very happy with the treatment I received and the work done on my car. What could have been a very stressful situation was quickly resolved.
