A very sad situation. Very nice staff and FNP Amie Horst is excellent. However, the corporate BS of their "NO DIRECT PHONE LINES" has made dealing with them a huge problem. Even thought I have saved their phone numbers in my phone, and never blocked those numbers, every call I get from them goes to voice mail. I then have to waste 15-30 minutes of my time calling back to their "CALL CENTER" in South Carolina so the call center can call the office directly. Then those transfer calls often get disconnected, so the cycle starts all over again. If you have been referred to this office I recommend you try another medical group, and be sure they take direct calls from patients. As I said, nice local staff but absolute crap corporate policy. read more

Don't walk...RUN from this place (or move away at a fast pace if you're in a walker or wheelchair)! This place is just bad. I have two autoimmune disorders, which comes with an assortment of conditions and issues. But what helps is if the doctor or nurse practitioner gets the original diagnosis RIGHT, and treats you according. For a year, I discovered that my NP had the wrong diagnosis listed on my conditions list. I discovered it, contacted them via email and advised them. My NP was on vacation at the time, so another NP emailed me back saying that the correction had been made and that my NP would be advised. Well, a year goes by. I switch insurance companies. And then the crap-storm begins. This office continues with the wrong diagnosis when updating my information, so my insurance won't cover certain products now. I find out from my insurance company about the conditions Village Medical sent over and it's the same from when I first started going there. On top of all that, my current NP treating me ignores me when I tell her some medications I take are precautionary only. Nope! She (Amie Horst) wanted for override the specialists and start saying it HAD to be for conditions I did not have. I was done. To Dr Amie Horst, My wife made an appointment with you to talk about something, you explained to my wife that it is something that you do not cover at village medical. So why am I sitting here with a bill for the visit coded for something you don't cover? Please explain. I've tried calling the office, nobody calls back. I've gone into the office, they tell me that I need to contact billing. Billing says they go off the dr notes. Just an overall terrible experience with village medical. read more

Called in the early morning on 8/21/2025. Inquired to see if a cardio exam could be accomplished at this facility. Also asked about treatment for a pinched nerve. The woman on the phone seemed to not have any idea what I was taking about. Said she would get back to me. Never did. read more

I have been going to Dr. Kent Johnson since 2005 and have always received the best possible care. I cannot imagine ever changing my primary care physician. He listens and always is spot on with his diagnosis and executes a successful plan . His entire staff is kind and efficient too. read more

I schedule has been canceled to the worst healthcare service I have ever received this award goes to Village Medical if you want absolutely no one to care about you or do nothing for you. Then this would be your number one choice, I am done with these people they are incompetent. They cannot keep an appointment available after you schedule their appointments. They continually canceling them for some nonsense reason and then the quality of doctors is so poor that they actually told my 15-year-old daughter that it's OK for teenagers to have sex have babies and dress accordingly I will never recommend this place read more

Do yourself a favor and find a different doctor's office. This place is awful. I had been a patient here for about five years but was recently informed that my physician was no longer with this practice so I would need to find a new provider. My pleasure...I've already found a much better doctor. About two years ago my previous doctor at Village Medical also resigned abruptly so they had to reschedule me with another physician in their office. They rescheduled me with an appointment some six months later. What?! When I finally did get in to see the new "physician" it turned out to be a physician's assistant who could barely speak English...there was clearly a communication gap. They also require you to complete endless repetitive paperwork on their crappy app even while seated in their waiting room even though you already filled out the identical forms the day before your visit. This is corporate health care at its worst where the only thing that matters is their profit margin. It's an office where the patients are treated like cattle...and the staff is always hurried and unfriendly. There are better offices out there...avoid this place....just ask anyone who gets "care" at this place. It's part of a chain of dr's offices and you are treated like a customer at any fast food place: get them in and out as quickly as possible. I'm done with Village Medical. No wonder they have a hard time keeping Doctors with an attitude like that. Good riddance... read more

Wrongfully diagnosed my child that had a severe ear infection because they didn't check both ears. My daughter had a seizure the following day and had to be taken to the hospital where they told me how extreme her ear infection was and how impossible it would be to miss! Not giving them a dime! And should be requesting my copay back. The neglectful care was very dangerous for my child. read more

Wrongfully treated. Lab work was never sent for test. Was told all results were normal anyways. Staff was very rude and disrespectful. Dr. Fossi was a lawyer and didn't join the medical field until after her career in law. Nothing wrong with that but prove the doctors are there for the money not to care for health. discarded all my symptoms and told me everything is fine. So if you're looking for treatment and a doctor that cares about your health, this is not the place for you! read more

The only good thing about this place was the greeting they give you from the secretary at the front window. From there on you are on your own. The doctor asked me if I would like a colonoscopy, and I said yes due to the fact that I'm almost 50 years old, she told me you would have to do this on your own when I asked her if she was going to take my blood to give me a check up she told me I would have to come back on another day make another appointment and miss another day of work so they could take my blood it was a waste of time and they did nothing for me or to me but take my weight and blood pressure. It was awful. I walked out and didn't care what happened. I really really don't recommend this medical facility. Worst experience ever. read more

This place has treated me so poorly, I swear it was as if they WANTED me to leave. I had an appointment for a shingles vaccination. The "nurse" took a walk-in for pneumonia vac. before me, after I had waited over 45 min. I heard the entire conversation with the walk-in and front desk, as I was waiting close by. I got up and left; I was so mad. WHY would they take a walk-in before an appointment?? The staff here is so poor. I will NEVER go back. read more

I am 65 years old. A retired competitive ski racer and coach all my life. I have had more than 10 surgeries as a result. I am also a cancer survivor, and a type 2 diabetic. Needless to say, I have had an enormous amount of experience in dealing with Dr's offices. This clinic is the worst I have ever experienced. You CANNOT 1) call directly for anything (foreign call center), 2) get a return phone call, 3) get response from a written letter, 4) communicate by email, 5) get a billing questioned answered (third party billing), or 6) trust them to "code" their billing correctly ( I finally gave up after three months of fighting them to resubmit a claim properly. I'm out $117 and way too much time dealing with this practice. read more

I've been going to this office for a while now and their service is slowly deteriorating. I haven't seen the actual doctor in years even after I was diagnosed with breast cancer. The PA was nice, but didn't ask too much about where I was in my cancer treatment. I am being treated at the Mayo Clinic and everything has been sent to my primary physician but oh well. Most recently, I went in for an annual check to for my blood work. A couple days later a lady from the office called to relay my blood results. They indicated my vitamin D and B12 was low so take a multi vitamin and that my thyroid was low so they were going to "decrease" the dosage. When I asked why would you decrease my thyroid medicine if my thyroid it is low, she said that's a good question, I'll have someone call you. Still waiting for the call. Now today my husband went in for his routine blood work. This appointment was made by their office 3 months ago. When he arrived to their office they asked for his blood work orders. He said why would I bring on my blood work orders when the orders came from this office. They said, well we like you to bring in the prescription orders. We send a " memo " out staff expressing that patients need to bring the order. He was never given a order last visit and really it should be in their computer. Ironically, another man was waiting for his blood work and he was asked the very same thing. He handed them his appointment card. They said this is your appointment card where is your prescription order. He said this is all you gave me. This office seriously lacks in communication. I'm beginning to found feel like just a number. read more

I wish I knew ahead of time that I would be billed for things that were never authorized by my insurance then stuck with a bill from hell by Dr Jennifer Maitra MD. She was very cold and unprofessional to me by making me wait 40 min to see her when my appt was only 30 min, then when she does come in, she never apologizes then rushes thru the appointment for 4-10 min and bills you for 30 min. She cared less about your concerns and tells me I only am allowed to discuss one thing only before rushing out the door. A test was ordered for me and was told to go do the labs for it. The test was NEVER authorized thru my insurance, so I was never given the option as to if I still wanted the test or not resulting in me being billed by the lab $1200.00! Billing said they would take care of it but months later, I am told, "we can't help you". DO NOT GO TO VILLAGE MEDICAL ON INDIAN SCHOOL, THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR WELL BEING OR MENTAL HEALTH. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I called and spoke to someone to schedule an appt. i explained what my symptoms were and what I believed I had due to my child just testing positive 2 days prior. I was given the virtual visit I requested since I knew I just needed an antibiotic. I was scheduled and at the appt time I was checked in by a nurse or assistant and told to please wait while the doctor finished with his patient. Well I waited in the virtual waiting room for Dr.Johnson for an hour. He canceled my visit and no thought to advise me. I then had to go into the office to be seen because he wanted to test me. Well I get there and the nurse swabs me for Covid which I had no symptoms of prior to testing me for what I was actually there for. When Dr. Johnson comes in he was dismissive about my exam and the appearance of my throat. He says nothing of value just to conclude with well you're positive for strep. LIKE I HAD SAID FROM THE FIRST PHONE CALL UP UNTIL I ARRIVED IN THE OFFICE. I say all that to say to advocate for yourself. These doctors jobs must be to squeeze every dime they can out of you instead of to help with ailments. read more

I had been going to Dr. Ken Johnson for over 20 years and stayed with him through a few different expansions and mergers, but since his office went from Estrella Internal Medicine to Village Medical it's been nothing but an awful experience. The phone number you call is an answering service and they take a message to have someone call you back within 1 to 3 business days. The nurse for Dr. Amy Hornst is the rudest person I've ever dealt with in the medical profession, and, as of Jan. 1st they no longer take our Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance. We've chosen a different provider and are much happier. read more

Awful experience. Visit was brief and unhelpful- then they sent us a huge bill for it. One of those places that you can't reach directly- just an 800 number where you go through a bunch of automated menus only to talk to someone who isn't even in your state. read more
