Another fun time at Village pointe this morning. We arrived just as the shopping center was opening on this gorgeous Sunday morning. The shopping center did look very pretty as new flowers have been planted recently during the spring time and the traffic again because it was early was near empty. That was nice and helped to find parking up the Main Street through the center. Always enjoy it here and when music nights are in and special holiday events... it's usually a must go to.

Apparel shopping wise, this is a great stop for young adult women and women in general who are young (or seasoned) professionals. While Oakview Mall and Westroads mall cater more to the departments stores and teen stores like Forever21, HM, Buckle, Pacsun, Village pointe is the home of higher end "adult" labels like Jcrew, Banana Republic, Anntaylor, White House Black Market, etc. VP also hosts the only LUSH, full sized Sephora and Apple Store in town- three of my favorites.Do you like yoga and working out? Athletica and LuluLemon are here! Do you like home decor? Pier one! I find most of the stores here women might like better than men, but at the center of the strip is big player Scheels- a sporting apparel and sporting utility store. This is the store that will convince your husband or man in your life to come along, along with the Apple Store or novelty gifts at the Art of Shaving. As for food, VP has a large variety of choices that would make any normal American happy. Cheeseburger in Paradise, Kona Grill, Bravo Italian, BRIX, paradise bakery and cafe, Firebirds, and Johnnys Steakhouse to name a few. For treats, Cold stone or Scooters. KOBE steakhouse and a frozen yogurt place are in the strip outside of the shopping plaza. While many people would be happy with these dining options and I have tried many of them and they are suitable, I wish Vp had more diversity or local flair here-not just the normal chain mall crap. I would like to see some cool independent restaurants here like we have in midtown and downtown Omaha. Even if it's a local chain like Flagship (blue, roja, plank, Blatt) opening here. The current options are fine, but maybe they can consider adding a few non chain eateries. Also, there is a movie theater here that I have never been to!

There is also a strong focus on athletic stores--probably because Scheels draws that crowd here.

I have loved coming to OPP since I was a teenager. There are many stores that you can't find at the…read moremall, but are still nationally known. Until recently it was mostly shopping, and now of course you have the "been around forever" Wheatfields, another Popp eatery, Andres, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Red Mango, 801 Chophouse, and the belle of the ball, Trader Joes. It's funny to think most Omaha millennials might remember Trader Joes as the only Abercrombie and Fitch in town for awhile. How fitting it became another millennial destination! The parking is kind of a mess, it's very cramped and most parking is for TJ's. One bright spot is Zen Coffee has a drive through there so you can grab a delicious matcha latte before your weekly shopping. I'm glad to see new life and staples stay in this plaza.

I used to avoid this shopping center thinking it "snooty" - at least until Trader Joe's moved in…read more Now I make regular visits to shop there and frequent several other businesses. I get my hair cut at Five Salon which specializes in Aveda products. Next door is L'Occitane which is a line of beauty products and fragrances from Provence in the South of France. Kinda pricey but it's the real deal. Fun just to look at their beautiful packaging. Last year I started buying dress pants for work at Talbots. Again, not cheap but high quality (and they have frequent sales). There's a Bath & Body Works, Sur la Table for high end kitchen ware, Wheatfield's and Andres Tortillery for dining options, and other small boutiques. Last but not least, I absolutely cannot visit One Pacific Place without stopping at Nothing Bundt Cakes and picking up a couple of bundtlets - one chocolate chocolate chip and one Flavor of the Month!! Truth be told, sometimes I make up an excuse to stop at One Pacific Place just to go there. :-)
