Lovely little local shop with a nice selection of rocks, gems and art. There was a lot of handmade jewelry as well that was being made behind the counter. I didn't feel pressured to purchase and the lady working was so nice. My son is in a very serious rock and gem phase. He examines everything top to bottom and asked a hundred questions. The gal working knew every rock and where each was sourced and was so knowledgeable and sweet with my kiddo. Everything was nice quality and they had some nice things. We ended up with a few bracelets and a bit polished rock for my kiddo. I'm sure we'll be back for more. read more

I've already reviewed Village Rock Shop once. I wanted to follow up with another review. I've since placed several more orders. Still love the selection, availability, quality and customer service. It's one of the two places I buy crystals from...and I have purchased ALOT. One thing that is also crucial is knowing that you are not buying fake crystals. Investing quite a bit of money, it's good to know that they are authentic. I check the site daily bc the selection changes often. Just when I think I have enough and am done buying, something unique and cool gets posted!! Also, I've purchased some other stuff that I didn't anticipate loving as much as I now do: the candles (manifestation one is my favorite) and the face rollers (just ordered one for a neighbor). I came in today looking to spend about $150 for a thank you gift. Left empty handed. Their selection is extremely limited. Nothing particularly noteworthy about their prices. Worst of all was the lack of service. Only one woman was manning the entire store. This little shop never fails me! Whether I'm just looking, in need of a gift, or something rather specific (i.e. gridding crystals or candles) Xenia is always willing to help. She's got a great welcoming and kind energy and the vendors she pulls into the shop have the same energy. our friends showed us this shop and totally kickstarted our interest in crystals and stones! it's a very cute, clean and organized shop. i like the shape of it -- it's a square basically, which creates a sort of flow when you're browsing. there's a nice assortment of items and she stocks new items often. i'm learning if something speaks to you, get it, cause it for sure won't be there next time. the owner is really nice and friendly and happy to share knowledge. there's also always little cards to let you know what type of stone you're getting and what it's benefits are. as someone who is new into the whole thing, this is very beneficial. i like to leave it up next to my new pieces as i get to know them! the shop itself is located a few streets removed from the main hustle bustle of downtown Carlsbad, so street parking is often easy to find just out front or to the right of the shop near the convenience shop. read more

I came in shortly before Christmas and maybe 30 mins or less prior to opening looking for "Tiger's Eye" for my stepson. I was greeted upon arrival and immediately directed to the middle table (close to the register side of the establishment) and found to my surprise, 3 types! I bought all 3 for about $10 bucks and was out before closing. The staff member was cordial, the checkout process simple and the shop was clean and tidy. I plan on visiting again soon! I am sorry for coming before closing (I used to close salons and know that is inconsiderate, so I try not to do this). Thank you Village Rock Shop! I saved your card, it's very cute! Oh!
