They say the offer "luxurious apartment homes in a beautiful, well maintained area". I have a toured and walked around to check out these apartments and it really does feel like a resort. The apartments are gated as well. They are pet-friendly and that is a plus for me. I have viewed and approve of the well kept grass area they have for the dogs. This place truly cares for the residents as well as the 4 legged residents as well. I highly recommend this place. read more

I moved here from Georgia, and I have been living in Sereno Townhomes for 3 years now and I love it here. The leasing manager is amazing, and maintenance is great! Both parties are friendly, and professional and may I add, they get the job done (quick response). I love the fact that it is a gated and peaceful community. Oh, and I love my garage space. The neighbors are friendly and mind their own business. I am grateful to be here. If anyone decides to move here, they will enjoy it and have no regrets. I've been living here for 3 years now, and I love it if we didn't have to move (we are a growing family need more space) then we wouldn't the staff is friendly and respond quick and are willing to help you with anything and I love that, it's never "oh you again " or anything like that. Love the grass areas for my pup to run around in when we can't take him on long walks at the park , and overall they keep the place very maintained. The neighbors are really cool too, mostly families. read more

When choosing an apartment in Glendale, we unfortunately had to exclusively use online sources, as we moved from out of state. This was a horrible mistake. Village Sereno Apartments look amazing online. They show many pictures of the inside and poolside areas, which are very nice. However, they neglect to mention safety, poor customer service, poor outdoor lighting, and their fitness center that is only open during business hours. Before signing the lease the staff insisted that the community was crime-free and that the gate was closed during the day. This however was far from the truth. The front gate is open all day, allowing random people to walk or drive through. Within a few months of moving in, our ipad and gps system was stolen from the car while we were unloading groceries! We had left the car unattended for literally less than a minute. I should also mention that this has happened to several of our neighbors, making theft a frequent event a Village Sereno. The community is extremely poorly lit at night and the side pedestrian gate is left unlocked at all hours. Many communities provide keys. There are also more serious crimes at Village Sereno. We have heard gunshots 3 or 4 times since we moved in, one of those being in the field below our balcony. Speaking of community crime, we came home one evening to find a drug-bust happening in our neighbor's driveway... these events do not make Village Sereno a place I want to call home. Noise has also been an issue at Village Sereno. At odd hours of the night it is not uncommon to hear neighbors coming home with their bass up so loud it wakes you up. The neighbor we share a wall with also has this same love for loud music... the mirrors and pictures on my walls shake! The fitness center is also of concern. When we moved in, the staff mentioned that they were re-modeling the fitness center and it was going to have several great machines. Five months later and they still only have a treadmill. But this surprisingly is not even the worst of it. They only allow residents to be in the fitness center if a staff member is present, as it is connected to the main office. If they have to show a unit you have to get out. My experience with the management has been awful. When we moved in, there were several huge black stains on the stairs. It looked as if someone had changed their car oil on the carpet. We asked for another unit, but they didn't have one available so they promised to get it fixed the next day. Well of course this never happened. After asking several times and having no luck, I talked to the manager. She assured me it would be done within the week. Two weeks later, no word from the front office. I called and she forgot all about our conversation. She again assured me that it would be done within a week. I called back and she had forgot again... after talking to the incompetent manager several more times she finally sent a carpet cleaning service out. This was great, but the stains didn't come out. A couple months later after hearing no word from her we finally went to the office and spoke with her yet again... two weeks later now and we still haven't heard from her. This is just one incident. We have made several other complaints and she has not been able to come up with a single resolution. Do not make the mistake of living at Village Sereno. The online pictures may seem great and the staff may seem on top of everything while you are a "future resident," but I am certain your views will change after you move-in. We sincerely regret our decision to move into Village Sereno and are counting the days until we can move-out. read more

When choosing a place to call home for my family I was very picky as to where and what we'd be living in. Initally I came accross Village Sereno online, and boy were they were amazing looking; the only thing that was stopping us from renting here was the distance from our everyday lives. Our childs daycare was more in the east valley as was our work places. After touring the complex we were wowed. The townhomes themselves were LOVELY! We decided to take back our holding fee from another place we were VERY interested in as well (which was way closer to work/daycare) and take a chance here. Shortly after moving in the nightmare began. The noise from the neighborhood was insanely loud. My child refused to sleep in her room during the week because of the noise, and on the weekends it was even worse. A few of the neighbors would gather at the house down from us and party in the garage. Theyd get crazy drunk; between the music and loud talking it made it at all impossible to enjoy our peace. There would be drunk couples fighting outside throwing glass bottles at eachother, to them being all in love practically having sex ontop of the cars in the parking lot. It became so often we would avoid being home unless we absolutley had to. It got to the point we called non emergency a few times to come and quiet them down. After this occuring repedetly we went to the office and voiced our complaint and was told by the manager she'd get in contact with the residents and make sure this was taken care of. Sad to say it was never resolved, and continued our entire 12 month period of being here. After a certain point we were afraid of our safety and well being. The thought of us getting robbed was always in my mind being that our neighbors were young punks who obviously didnt care for us. Some times I would take my child out for a walk to the mailboxes or to play in the drive way and after witnessing what goes on in the complex I stopped. Between seeing residents smoking weed in huddles, cars flying through the complex, and unfriendly people we resorted staying inside. This place is definately not some where to call home. The manager is not helpful at all and completely unprofessional. She accomplished nothing with resolving any of our issues and as a fellow resident I would have assumed she would have been more concerned as to what was going on in a place were her kids slept at night. The office was NEVER available.When we first moved in the office was open normal business hours MON-FRI and open for a while on SAT, which was nice since my work schedule conflicted with the weekday hours. If I ever had a package left in the office I would have to go on the weekends to pick it up, which was no big deal until the office conviently closed its doors on weekends without notice. I began taking hours off of work to make sure to get my package from the office during its NEW unannouced business hours but to my surprise the office was always closed for what ever reason without notice. I called a few times to see if the maintenance guy could leave the package in my house for me and the manager said "Sure itll be there for you" I get home and what do you know....my package isnt there. I call the office in panic leaving voicemail after voicemail hoping someone would get back with me and it wasnt until i left a very rude voicemail the package ends up on my door step! The gated community should not be advertised as such since the gate doesnt even close! Anyone can come and go as they please. Two houses down from me there was a raid, down the street from us in another complex was a murder and there are constant shootings. I could write on for days about how awful this place is to live. And I DONT think its the homes themself because like I said to begin with the homes are BEAUTIFUL. Theyre spacious, open kitchens, renivated, and for the most part clean. Its the area, the residents of Village Sereno and the Manager/crew that would steer me clear of this place. I think they definately need some HELP or assistance in getting this place on track but all in all Im grateful my lease is up and my family and I are FAR FAR away from this place. read more

I recently moved to Village Sereno from Colorado and I must say my experience with management and maintenance have been pleasant. I found the manager to be very helpful. The community is beautiful and I love that there are full size washer and dryers in my home. I think things have changed a lot because the fitness center is open 24 hours and it has several machines to use plus free weights. I recommend this community to anyone that that is looking for a nice place to live. Also the community is walking distance from GCC and public transportation. read more

I have lived in VS for a year and will not be renewing my lease. The complex is ok...but not outstanding and for the price you'll pay in the long run?... My experience has not been terrible but the closer I came to the end of my lease things did take a turn for the worse. To start my family and I had our belongings packed and ready to be unloaded at VS... the young woman that worked at VS at the time did not even have our keys for us to move in. We waited 2hrs for the maint. guy to show with our keys... once the complex closed for the evening we were locked out!... the code and card they gave us for the gate did not work and have not since we have lived here (mostly my fault because of the already poor service I refuse to waist one more minute solving this issue) my family and I have used the emergency access code since day one. Mgmt changed during our lease for the better and worse. Old Mgmt was pleasant and knew residents by name...maint. guy was efficient and overall a cool guy. Workout facility?... 4 equipment pieces that more or less served the same purpose and was only open during business hours... the pool is small and resembled a cheap hotel appearance. Pool area did not have one umbrella for shade or any pizzazz. Lighting was poor. Residents sped through the horseshoe parking lot as children rode bikes, skated or just merely walked in middle of street. I would hardly call VS pet friendly...yes they do have an enclosed dog park which is nice and comes in handy but only one dog station throughout complex. Apartment itself was very nice in appearance and space was wonderful but.... everything is cheaply made and broke several times within our stay. Air conditioning blows wonderfully throughout bedrooms but living room and kitchen are noticeably hotter. Electric bill throughout winter was hardly ever below 80 and summer was a high 260-280. Garage is nice to have but very small and makes getting in/out and unloading groceries a pain. Parking outside of garage is limited. Complex does tend to be loud on weekends and could ruin the best of nights sleep. New Mgmt and first thing is first...they begin on the outer appearance. They started painting the outside of the units and I started noticing ticks on my pooch...7 within 2 weeks. Called 3 different times and finally burns came and sprayed...well no more ticks. They did get more lighting..oddly enough they did not bother with the walkways lighting...they did get more gym equipment and changed the hours from 7-10 (nice I think) they added shading to the pool and bbq area (looks very nice I think) and added several more doggy stations. BUT of course for the changes came the rent increase! I went to see about renewing and was quoted market value of 1251 before water,sewer trash,tax, and pet fee....compared to 1089.... once I signed my release and began looking VS all of the sudden had deals and blowouts... guess she thought I was joking about moving and called bluff. My screen door broke ... new maint guy seems nice but never completed the order and still hasn't because he left and the new maint. guy was never informed of the order but because we are moving in less than 2weeks it no longer concerns me. I can never get in touch with mgmt unless I go to the office and half the time mgmt is not in the office. There is only one woman in the office during open hours at any onetime. As of this week 7 residents including myself have turned in notices. Again the expo has not been too bad but I have seen better. read more
