Do not pay full menu price for the massages! My husband and I got 2 80 minute massages for $270. We almost did the 1 hour beach side for $105. However we waited and sure enough like others mentioned when they are having slower days they walk around the pool with ipads and offer you deals. There is also someone set up outside the breakfast restaurant offering promotions. The spa facility was nice a tad dated in areas and not as nice as secrets maroma beach but overall it was nice! Very clean also if you put a dirty towel in the hamper it was gone within 5 minutes and taken to be cleaned. The hydrotherapy was a neat feature as well. You can add this on for $35 I believe. They start you out in a sauna then you walk into ICE cold water hot tub then you go into the steam room, ice cold water again then the hot tub and then onto the pool with tons of jets that are HIGH pressure and able to hit all of you aches in pains and you feel as if you got a mini massage by the second you walk out! Before your massage you are guided into a circle of lounge chairs and given cucumbers over you eyes with a cold washcloth to put over your face. Your assigned person will come find you and take you back to your room. My massage was probably one of the most relaxed I have ever felt in my entire life and I get them monthly. She knew exactly what spots were aching and got SO many knots out. I was sore that very next day but in a good way. I was so impressed because the girl who was assigned to me was tiny and I thought oh she won't be able to get my knots out she did above that and beyond. If I ever came back to the secrets playa mujeres resort I would most definitely come back and visit clara! the relaxation station after your service is super nice as well they have dried fruits delicious oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and different kinds of teas and fruit infused waters. I was approached by Juan Carlos for a free neck massages at the pool, so I took him up on it. He seriously worked it right out. I could have kissed him. So forward to October 2019 I see Juan Carlos around the pool with his massage chair giving free 10 minute massage. So I got the 10 minute massage and just melted. So I made an appointment for 4 p.m. that day for a full body massage overlooking the sea. Hands down best massage ever. He is firm yet gentle. Thoroughly worked me into heaven. When he was done I told him "why didn't I do this the first day I got here" He said majority of his clients say that. I will seek him out the moment I get to Cancun. The spa it's self in the hotel is stunning. Being on the club level you have total access to it as well as an indoor pool. Do yourself a huge favor and stay at JW Marriott while in Cancun. To me, it was simply a 100 percent totally relaxed, and "forget about work and everything" experience! As with what most spas should be. We arrived one hour prior to our scheduled appointment, and ended up waiting in the 'waiting area' for only a few minutes. There were little healthy gram cookies, mixed nuts, teas, and mineral water at the self-serve bar nearby. Nothing special, but great that it's available. After loungin' and yelpin' one of the staff took us to the steam room, sauna, jacuzzi area. He presented us a locker, with a slightly broken/loose lock that had sandals, towels, and jewelry box. Next to it, free for the taking, were some cold face towels, small fridge with bottled water, and some fruit flavored water dispenser. The spa was relaxing, steam room calming, and sauna was hot hot hot! Thank goodness for the ice cold water next to it so you can recharge your face towel with some coolness. Plus add a spray of fragrance. Right across from that you can wash off in the couples shower. The stand up showers with five shower heads for all over rinsing. Our scheduled appointment had come up, and we were massaged and cleaned up by Herta and Anna. Prior to dipping your feet in some fish water, you've got to have them cleaned off first. I've never had fish spa treatment before, but I totally enjoyed the 25 minutes of algae eaters picking off my dead skin cells. And no issues with service, as Herta and Anna were excellent. They even gave us pina coladas! At the end of the session, we were cleaned off and massaged one final time. I'm very pleased, and hope to do it again before I check out of Cancun.

Finding the concept interesting, we decided to step in. The friendly workers here informed us that it was $20 per person for 20 minutes. We agreed, and sat down to get it done. One of the workers first came to clean our feet with some solutions, wipe them, and then told us to put our feet in the water. It was ticklish at first, as the fish started nibbling all over. After a few minutes, we got used to it. It was interesting seeing the fish do their job. They were small and very energetic. The tub in which they sat was transparent, and we saw fellow shoppers passing by and finding intrigue in this place as well. After a cool 20 minutes, we took our feet out of the water. A worker proceeded to apply lotion and give us each a massage. It was a pretty cool experience. I would recommend this place if you find yourself in Cancun.

The same applies to this 5 star resort despite what Wyatt would advertise. We rented a cute spacious clean room with a western view of magnificent sunsets! The room is outdated but spacious and comfortable. One can argue that you shouldn't be spending time in the resort suite on a Tropic of Cancer island, but it's still home await from home. The bathroom is large and attractive. The best is the large walk-in shower. the spa is excellent thanks to Lionel, Theresita, and Nora. While attractive and well located on a beach, it does *not* deliver. The management lacks experience or skills for this to qualify as 4-stars, definitely not 5-stars. Yes, it has an attractive facade and excellent location. The staff is friendly and pleasant. But the management seems to be unaware of the lack of quality in the overall experience. Even as i raised issues, I received a blank expression. the services are inconsistent, from room servicing, cleaning, restaurant, and amenities. we requested the concierge to reserve a golf cart 2 days in advance, and they failed to reserve the vehicle. What we did receive was a worn down poorly maintained vehicle that was unsatisfactory @ $150 US for 24hrs. The restaurant was not at the level of resorts of the same class or price range. The prices seemed…read morereasonable, and after checking the reviews, there was only one concerning review from a couple of years ago, so we decided to try it. We both booked deep tissue massages. At first, my masseuse seemed like she knew what she was doing, but things became uncomfortable once she asked me to flip onto my back. She lifted the sheet so high that I could see her face, which completely defeated the purpose of being covered. After that, there was little to no actual massage done on the front of my body. At one point, she stretched my legs in a way that exposed my private areas, and later she lowered the sheet too far and briefly exposed my breasts. For a large portion of the session, she mainly rubbed oil on my body without any real technique or pressure. There was a serious lack of professionalism throughout the experience. While there is often a misconception that Americans have endless money, we still work hard for what we earn and should be able to enjoy the fruits of our labor without feeling uncomfortable or taken advantage of. A massage should feel safe and respectful, and this did not. I would not recommend this place unless you are prepared to feel exposed and disappointed.

Due to time, I was unable to enjoy the hot and cold pools this time and was escorted to the waiting area for my massage. I scheduled an 80-minute deep tissue massage, which was great. Definitely felt nice and relax after everything! Overall: I would highly recommend the spa and massage experience at Awe Spa if you get the chance.
