I simply wanted one cabinet that was higher than the other leveled and two shelves added between the two to display items. The designer suggested a cleat or large mould up to the ceiling but my request was just to level the new, wood cabinets that were installed in February and add shelves. The estimate was over two thousand. I have money to fund any projects that I'm interested in, but I value stewardship over my money and that means that I am not frivolous with it just because I have the means.

So after two weeks without receiving a quote, I reached out on a Monday morning, just to make sure I had not missed the email. She wrote back saying my project would be "one of the first projects she completed this week", well 7 days later....still no quote. Guess it's a good thing, wouldn't want to do business with a company that doesn't meet deadlines. On to the next company....
