For the past few weeks we've been visiting this location, because they have "The Market" every Saturday from 9am-1pm. They only do this local market from May 14th through September 24th. I have discovered some awesome local vendors that sell alot of homemade crafts. This Amphitheater also does many free concert events on Thursdays, and it's always a great time. There is a huge separate building that has both male and female restrooms. There is a public parking lot on site, as well as nearby street parking. Even when they've had large entertainment events, we've never had any issues with parking. I would highly recommend this local market and outdoor Amphitheater to coworkers, friends, and family members!!! Come by and say Hi, I sell here also!

The tickets said the event was for 6:00, then it was changed to 6:30. At 7:45, the band still had not made it out and people were complaining. When one of our party went to talk with the management to find out what was going on and why things weren't on time. The first person we spoke to said they didn't know what the hold up was. When the event planner was approached, he said that they were on time. We have never been to an event there where we had to wait so long before the performers began. Then when the event finally started, it was unbearably loud. So much so, that there was feedback and distortion. We had to leave. First time we have ever been let down, but this was a big let down and to top it off , we had to pay for the tickets. Surely their contract spells out what is expected of the band. When they are to go on stage and for how long. Also, I have never been there when it was physically uncomfortable because they music was so loud. My ears are still ringing.

All the seats are actually good, but next time I will go early for a better seat choice. I actually liked the theater, even though its been neglected for many years. The outside of building is in great shape. The bathrooms are on the second floor, theater on third floor. Elevators are old and slow, we decided to use the stairs instead. No concessions, so eat before you attend. They are taking donations for the upgrade of the seats, I will post pics. The play was excellent, all the actors did such a wonderful job! I will watch the website for future plays. My daughter attended medical school at USC for 6yrs, so I have first hand experience on what the school charges for fees. Im really disappointed that the school has failed the up keep of this historic building. Im not accepting any excuses, its actually shameful. The Arts dept, staff and students deserve better than this. If you want the real history of the theatre, read the truth. While I'm originally from Lexington, I now live in Honolulu, Hawaii. So I did some research online and saw that there was to be a performance while we were in town. I jumped at the opportunity and purchased tickets for us. The prices were very reasonable and we were able to get seats near the front/close to the stage - but not uncomfortably close. The theater itself was very well maintained, especially since it's a older/historic building. The staff were very pleasant and welcoming. They even offered to print our tickets since we had no way of doing so. Also, the need to print tickets never occurred to me as I've converted to having most things in digital format in my day to day life. We were guided to our seats and given a thorough theater layout (pointing out restroom locations, exits, etc.) The highlight of the evening, of course, was the performance. We were both impressed with how incredibly talented the performers were at this community theater. I would love to visit again next time we're in town and if I were to live in the Columbia area, I am confident that my family and I would have season tickets.

The lighting for the show (The Supper Table) was also good. However, the sound wasn't great for some of the actors. There were about 14 actors on stage at once. The theater uses local talent to voice the scripts and to produce the music, and they always do a fantastic job! They are super friendly, wonderful to talk with, and the girls really learn to dance even at this age. I was surprised by how professional they were, and really recommend this school to anyone looking to have their child learn structure, and possibly dance professionally when they are older. I truly feel this school gives children the tools to be a future professional dancer!
