A very nice, small town "watering hole" that offers a great selection of drinks and some really good food! I can see why the locals enjoy this place, as the staff was very friendly and quick with relevant recommendations. After a full day of hiking and driving, we were ready for a big dinner. The French Onion soup was very hearty and rich, with lots of cheese. I thought it was delicious, but a couple staying at the same BNB made comments the next morning that they did not... They clearly don't know good soup! We also ordered the Smoked Wings and thought they were pretty much the perfect wing. Big, juicy, tender, full of flavor. I'm sad that they are 4 hours away from home! After some discussion, decided to order the Antelope Burger with onion rings as an entree. The server said it was a lot of burger and he was correct - topped with grilled pineapple AND pulled pork . Ordered medium and it came medium rare but was the perfect medium by the second bite - impressive! I double dip my onion rings when I make them at home and prefer a really crunchy ring, but these were lacking in the crunch. Still a great side, just wish they were a little more substantial. I wish I could remember the beer that I ordered, as I would recommend it. But I waited a little too long to write this review I would highly recommend a stop if you're in the area, or a quick detour if you're not too far away! read more

Lots of parking, outdoor seating, and there is a ramp to get in but the door may be difficult for someone in a wheelchair. The 2 bathrooms are gender neutral. We sat at the bar and Chris promptly greeted us, gave us silverware & menus, and asked for our drink order. Despite the focus on beer, several patrons were drinking wine and Chris made a very good Cosmo for me. Our dinners were delicious. I had the steak and romaine wedge - love the combination of flavors. Hubby had a burger cooked perfectly and delicious tater tots (I had to sample a few). All of their desserts are homemade. Hubby LOVED the peach cobbler. We stopped in to Village Tavern on our travels today. Friends had recommended it and it exceeded expectations. This was one of the best burgers we've had in a while with a great blend of meat, thick cheese, a soft bun that stood up to the richness, and a really zingy chipotle ketchup that was amazing. We also had an Apple and Brie Sandwich with side salad. The sandwich was super interesting and delicious. The salad dressing was also unexpectedly wonderful-- a citrus vinaigrette. Quick and friendly service. Hot and flavorful food. Nice bar with several dining areas. Each time we have visited the Village Tavern we have been satisfied. The service is prompt and they brought waters right over to the table. I personally love potato soup and was fully satisfied with this appetizer. I would recommend the Street Corn Chopped Salad and the portion size was generous. We really enjoyed adding tater tots to our meal which had a salty, delicious seasoning sprinkled on them. The bacon jam on the Wagyu burger is excellent! The room smelled freshly cleaned (maybe bleach) which was a bit overpowering with the food smells. I saw the reviews and one of the things everyone was talking about was the French onion soup, but when we got there, it wasn't on the menu. We were there on a Saturday evening and the place was packed. We had to wait about 30 minutes for our table, the service was okay. Not extremely good, not extremely bad either. The food (chicken fingers, fries and a burger) was also "okay". The fries were a little chewy instead of crispy and they were really salty. Normally I like salty, but this was bordering the inedible. My wife, daughter and I tried this restaurant for something different from the chain places around the area. Never being to the place I was intrigued by the size of the building. Upon entering you are greeted with a nice bar setup to the left and one of the dining rooms to the right. They provide a beer cheese and jalapeno mustard dips. I enjoyed the jalapeno mustard dip, but didn't try the beer cheese as my wife and daughter had that one under wraps. The jalapeno mustard dip provided a great zing and heat combination, which i will need to try and recreate sometime. For dinner I had the Turkey Club sandwich which was excellent. The meat to bread ratio was spot on and the side of house made chips were great and added an extra crunch. The only weird thing was the tomatoes in the club were diced and not sliced. I ordered the mac and cheese of the week - this week it was technically barbecue pulled pork, but there was some slight confusion with the change in rotation (not a problem at all for me, I'll eat basically any mac and cheese!), so I ended up having Philly cheese steak mac and cheese!
