The customer service was 10/10! Very attentive and accommodating, my review is only 2 stars because their page is currently false advertising. I chose to eat here from out of town because of the food posted on their yelp page. Their menu consists of one burger, one sandwich, one salad, wings, and apps. They have a specials board, which I ordered off of. The food I saw repeated on their yelp page was nowhere to be found on the menu on-site. And while the food was good bar food, I left with severe bloating and gas after eating a wrap and potatoes. The food comes served in a bar basket with tissue paper, not on a plate. Our server let us know the restaurant closed within the last year and that there were hopes to reopen or expand the business in the future. read more

We were not pleased with our meal, at all. We arrived at noon on the 23rd and we were The second of two tables seated. The server was great and came over quickly for our order. We then waited nearly 35 minutes for our sandwiches to arrive. My wife had a grilled cheese with bacon and onions while I had a Reuben. Everything was overcooked. The meat on the Ruben was cooked before putting it onto the sandwich. Meaning: it was crispy and overly chewy. Not what one would expect from a Reuben sandwich. The bread was burned and too crispy. Both of our orders of french fries where are extremely greasy and we only had a few. Hopefully this was all because it was off-season, but they most certainly were open for business and have specials listed for tonight's dinner. read more

I have been wanting to come here for a while. We went at kind of an off time so it wasn't very busy, which I liked. The inside of it is really nice and the woman working was great. Our server was incredible. We absolutely loved her! We had hiked all day and asked to be seated somewhere semi private as we were not dressed in dining room attire and looked a little rough. She found us the perfect spot, brought us extra water (without asking), made the most delicious (and pretty) drinks, and was super attentive. We ordered the lobster Mac 'n cheese soup. Do yourself a favor and order 10 - one of the best things we've ever had. We also ordered the lunch specials of some kind of sausage sandwich. We stayed at Letchworth Farm for two nights in July, and the owners recommended The Whistling Farmer Pub as a place to dine. The restaurant had just hired a new chef and expanded the menu. We were not disappointed! We ate there two nights in a row. Over both nights, I had the Poutine, the Mushroom French Dip, and the Pork Chop. They were all amazing! This is a local farm-fresh gastropub, so all the meats and produce are sourced locally. I bet you can imagine then how delicious everything tastes, especially the meat. We want to give this restaurant five stars, but after having ate here about a dozen times, the dining room service is poor. Very slow to take beverage order, even slower to take food order. Kitchen is fairly quick to prepare but wait staff can't seem to keep the same pace. This issue does not seem to be a product of a busy restaurant but rather that the wait staff appears unsupervised and is typically chatting with bar staff or playing around very loudly with kitchen staff. This has occurs on all but one visit where we are at the bar and had good service as opposed to the dining room. Menu is creative and food is usually good. The cider battered fish fry is exceptional, the local steaks are flavorful and cooked perfect, and the salmon with risotto (when on the menu) is always good. Soups have been delicious every time. The Shepard pie is trying to be too fancy and is a tiny portion with little to no vegetables, while the fettuccine with chicken is absolutely awful, has no flavor and was served with pain white soggy "wonder bread" toast. Mixed drinks are watered down or not made well and just not worth the price. Overall the restaurant is overpriced for the area as most meals are upwards of $25+ plus and severed without salad by a very distracted wait staff. We WANT to love this place, but it just seems to miss the mark every time. read more

The best option in Nunda, NY!! We stopped in for a dinner as a group on a Friday night and were quickly seated. It is very spacious both inside and outside and has cute decor and background to the building. The owner is super friendly and the food and drinks were amazing. The pina colada beer was a unique twist. They had cider-fried options instead of your normal beer-fried and it was actually really good! We got a variety of the blackened chicken, buffalo chicken salad, and fried fish. The mac and cheese and mashed potatoes were to die for. Definitely recommend! This place did not disappoint. When we arrived, the friendly host asked if we wanted to be seated indoors or outdoors. We chose indoors. The dining tables were well spaced and we had gorgeous view of the green golf course. We started with a delicious plate of fresh Caesar salad. Amazing little Gem in the middle of....? Haha just kidding - we found this on yelp after leaving Letchworth State Park and finally getting cell service. First of all, don't let the fact that this is a "golf course restaurant" deter you, because it's really not. Is it on a golf course? Yes. But the foooood! Farm to table, from locals. Tracey, the bartender/hostess/server/greeter was super friendly and accommodating. It was lunchtime so dinner menu was not available - didn't matter. We had: breaded mushrooms, Reuben spring rolls, "Dublin skins" (their potato skins), short rib sandwich, and the "East Hill Creamery" grilled cheese. Oh, and homemade macaroni salad!! The Dublin skins were ridiculously delicious, with a local farm's lamb. The meat was tender and lamb-y. The grilled cheese had bacon, a tomato jam, a kale pesto...yeah, soooo good. Our first time going to this restaurant and it was a huge disappointment to be honest we never received our appetizers We waited well over an hour and 15 minutes to get our food and it was pretty average my steak that I spent $33 on was very tough. The waitress was a very good however she was doing everything by herself including busing tables... The bill came to $125 for four of us they brought out the appetizers after we finished eating and then did not charge us for the pretzel because we never received it as an appetizer however they did charge for a small cup of cheese that went with it honestly it was disappointing since we had been looking forward to going to this restaurant for the past two years read more

They just had a large party finish up and were getting caught up, but the waitress was friendly, efficient and accurate. The fish fry was a good choice on Friday. We chose inside because it was cooling off. They have a wide selection of drinks available. I got the blackened chicken. It was juicy and great flavor in their BBQ sauce. The Mac and cheese is tremendous. It has a great cheese sauce that is thick but there is plenty of sauce. Not the usual it is only on the pasta. My wife got the Braised Short Ribs. My husband and I booked a second stay at the Letchworth Bed and Breakfast, which is lovely, on purpose to come to this restaurant when it was taken over by the new owners. The new chef is amazing! My husband ordered the pork chop and I ordered the filet. The meat was remarkably tender. Our server was friendly and commandeered the last piece of cheesecake for us to take back to our room;0). Recently visited with a friend and the 3 star rating is giving credit for my friend's sandwich, which looked good and she said was delicious. However, I ordered the arugula and beet salad, not knowing that they apparently had only *one* slice of beet, *one* teaspoon of goat cheese, *one half a tablespoon* of mandarin oranges and NO candied walnuts. The arugula was limp and sparse, I suppose in keeping with the scarcity of the other ingredients. It was a huge disappointment and not inexpensive, either. The bar area was cute, but we chose the dining room for the views. The server was named Alyssa and was fantastic, and appeared to be handling everything by herself. I didn't mention my salad and its lack of ingredients/freshness to her as she was busy and I didn't want to stress her. I may give them another chance, hoping that this review prompts them to make a more attractive, crispy and appealing salad. The setting/view is very nice, and I wish only the best for the whole operation. Just wanted to write this review in hope of an improvement in at least that one item. Pleasant service and good food- but inconsistent availability of menu items. My arugula and beet salad 6 months ago was one of my favorites- roasted beets julienned with creamy goat cheese and peppery arugula. Last night there was no arugula in the salad- all romaine with a few spinach leaves, large chunks of boiled or steamed beets - needed to cut them - the saving grace was the agave balsamic. That was disappointing. I'd rather be told we don't have it, than be disappointed with what they substitute. Time to get some consistency in that kitchen and key patrons know when something is out. read more

We went there on a Friday night. They have the usual fish fry that you can find just about anywhere, however they did it quite well with meaty fish, properly fried and not at all greasy, and wonderful coleslaw. We also had the salmon with risotto. Although the risotto was supposed to have beet, I was hard-pressed to find any beet in it, or is there such a thing as white beets? It made no difference as the risotto was quite nice and it went perfectly with the properly seasoned salmon and a scallion sauce that when all three components were combined on a fork, it was really quite exquisite. We visited them on their second day of business under new management and it is amazing that they pulled it off so well with fast service and no glitches whatsoever. I have heard a few complaints about higher prices, and I understand that perhaps their pricing is a bit high for Nunda, however the dishes that we had were worth it. Will we go back?
