Stopped in here on a Friday night. Got seated promptly. Waitress was friendly and attentive. She explained that the food comes out as it is ready. Some things take longer than others. Lots Of the dishes are shareable. The bread was amazing. I ordered the bone in pork chop, mashed potatoes, and apple slaw. The pork chop was tender and had a nice crispy coating. The mashed potatoes were delicious and flavorful with the bacon and cheese. I didn't like the apple slaw which consisted of apples, slaw, and onions. It did have a good light vinegar dressing. Overall, good meal. I had my dinner ate before the rest of the table received their burgers.

Neat place in an unassuming building. Very nice inside, very upscale. High ceilings and a very nice bar area that fills up very quickly. Happy hour specials, but at the bar only. Our server was very friendly, we never wanted for anything. Keep in mind that food come to the table as it is ready, so some members of the party could have their food and one waiting dependent on what was ordered. I had the burger, which was a super generous portion. the burger itself was huge and the portion of fries were even bigger! I am a saucy person, so the burger sauce and toppings were on the light side. I ordered an additional portion. Overall, good flavor of everything, great service.

Wow! What an amazing dinner I love this place. An old train station turned into a romantic restaurant with a wood fire grill. Walking we received a warm welcome and headed to the bar for a drink before being seated. A great selection of wines, beer, spirits, and they support local wineries which is always nice to see. The dining area is all stone with fires built into the stone walls. Our waitress greeted us promptly and with a big smile and genuine happiness. We were served an assortment of bread and she explained how the restaurant encourages sharing plates, tapas style. We started out with the house salad which was awesome! What a presentation in a huge bowl mixed with pickled cauliflower, fresh tomatoes, chickpeas and onions. We finished the bowl just the two of us. Then onto the entrees. The Faroe Island baked salmon was cooked to perfection, flaked off the fork, moist, and mouthwatering. Cooked with a pear & bulgogi glaze on top of roasted sliced potatoes in a ginger chive oil, topped with crisp roasted brussel sprouts and hot honey. My mouth is watering all over again. Highly recommend this restaurant I can't wait to go back. Friends had the sesame seared wild caught ahi tuna, wakame, ginger soy glaze over wontons with chili lime aioli, sriracha, and wasabi. They loved it and the presentation was spectacular. Kudos to the owners and staff for making this a wonderful experience. Also check out their specials, Mondays no corkage fee, Tuesdays & Wednesdays kids make their own free pizza, Thursday 1/2 price bottles of wine, and Friday Happy Hour 3:30-6. They have gluten free options, family friendly. Hope you check them out.

I was supposed to come here with a friend but he's sick so it's a good thing I like dining solo just fine. I went right after they opened and there were several tables there already. Maybe Solar Eclipse traffic??? I was greeted right away-from across the room actually. I think it was the manager because he made the rounds to the tables asking how everything was later on. I started off with a lemon sour. Delicious. Never had one but if you're looking for a sweet drink this ain't it. It was on special. I was delivered bread with honey butter, pickles and hummus. I thought that was weird but it was actually so good on the bread. I had a piece of Italian bread, some onion bread and probably focaccia. The bread plate was insane-I could have just had bread there and been happy. I ordered a wood fired pizza. I mean that's in the name so that's what I got. It was pretty good. The sauce is on the spicy side. Just enough heat to wake up your tastebuds but not so uncomfortable that your mouth is on fire. I heard the table next to me also was talking about the spice of one of their dishes and talking about their nose running when things are spicy...same girl, same. And my nose was a little runny. I wish the pepperoni had been cup and char but that may have put that pizza over the top with having such a robust sauce. I did indulge in dessert. Against my better judgement because I full! But luckily my dessert stomach stepped her ass up to the plate and took one for the team. I do not think the dessert selection is that fantastic. I think every dessert has some chocolate in it except for the crème brûlée so if you're not a chocolate person, there's not a whole lot to choose from. I really wanted the coconut cake, but that had chocolate ganache on it, and the oatmeal cake just sounded unappealing so I passed on those. The crème brûlée was really good. My server was really good. I can't complain. It's a good place to eat-worth the drive and I liked the atmosphere. I found it to be a little drafty though and I noticed others keeping their coats on. I didn't have a coat so I was a bit chilly the whole meal. Good drink selection, not many appetizers though not that you'll need them. They encourage plate sharing. The pizzas are quite big especially for one!!

Margherita pizza is awesome. Loved the tomatoes they use!

Got an 8pm reservation on a Friday for dinner with my daughter. We were in town to check out the nearby college. We were seated right away. Ambiance is awesome! Lighting is just right, decor is modern, and the seating is situated nicely for conversation. Staff was excellent from the gentleman running the process to the absolute "foodie" of a waitress. She took the time to discuss the food options and also took time to talk to us about the area, so that my daughter could get a sense of what a student would experience. On to the food. Straight awesome! Definitely a foodie paradise. Sharing plate setup is a dream. We had a margherita pizza, premium tomato taste, fresh mozzarella, and a crunchy and chewy crust! Jerk chicken and rice and Mac and cheese were also hits. Raspberry chocolate truffle dessert engaged parts of my stomach that don't usually get engaged. Loved it! All around great experience!

Limited menu, kinda pricey, really good food. Got seated right away, took a while to get service. Won't sub anything, didn't want the fries, but they included them anyway. Wedge was delicious, and the 18 day aged burger was super flavorful - grilled onions on top complemented the beef well.

Ember is now one of my favorite restaurants! Love the family style shareable dishes, you can try a bunch of different things! And yes, the portions are actually suitable for this! We shared the steak burger, the macaroni and cheese, and the house salad. Best burger I've had in a long time, and best salad I have had in a long time! Mac and cheese was very good, just not my favorite. Service was excellent, they are so friendly and serve the food as soon as it's ready - which is fast. Super cute place, I just wish they had outdoor seating. Will definitely be coming back soon!

Ember maintains an elevated ambiance indoors and a comfortable atmosphere on a spacious outdoor patio. The menu is focused with a carefully curated selection. A menu mix that goes well together. Perfect for sharing! Awesome!

Amazing food, service, and ambiance. We go to this Resturant once a year when we are on vacation and it is the high light of our time.

First time to eat at EMBER... well well, its really pretty place. Host is friendly. Waitress is friendly too and its awesome that she is willing to communicate w/ Deaf customers. Thats awesome. Food? Pizzas are really good!! Mac & Cheese is kinda not bad. Fries is pretty ok but we added salt to make it better. Breads is not bad but if you add sweet butter or sweet dill.. or other- that'd better taste. Thats why i give 4 stars. Also, theyre shareable and hugeeee!! Inside of the building is really nice!! It looks like 4-5 stars fancy. Rocketman hanging up on ceiling is cool. Cleanest!! Definitely will come back again for date night.

This post is a little late but like they say better late than never! I went to Ember for the first time a couple weeks ago, and what an experience it was! To make a long story short, the food was AMAZING my friends and I did try several things because we could not choose from the list they had. Ultimately, we ordered the steak and fries salad, goat cheese and arugula pizza, hummus bruschetta, and hot wings. Everything we ordered was spectacular. We were a little skeptical about ordering the pizza since it wasn't like a traditional pizza (no sauce or mozzarella). Instead the pizza had an apricot jam which made the dish sweet and savory, so although it was different, it was delicious. For those of you that have never been to Ember, the dishes are meant to share and let me tell you... it's more than enough. I went with two other people and we may have over ordered as we were all stuffed leaving the restaurant. A little more about the restaurant, it's in an old train station and the inside is sooo nice and fancy. I felt a bit under dressed dining in when I came in my casual attire. The staff members were all so nice and the service was great. Overall, I had a great time and will definitely be back. 10/10 recommend

    Sweet potato egg rolls

Very interesting concept of American style fresh tapas. Flavors were very good and unique. Menu had lots of interesting options. Sweet potato eggrolls had an unexpected kick to them. Burger was cooked with a great flavor and carmelized onions tasted so good on the burgers. Service was ok.

Our first visit was in January and we've been back 2 more times already. The main dining room is down stairs. The bar area upstairs seems very lively and inviting as well, and I've heard there's patio seating we want to try in the late spring. Service was excellent and very attentive. We loved everything we tried. You can do things traditional tapas style or you can go the appetizer and entree route. We had the calamari to start and some cocktails. For our entrees we each ordered the "feature" of the evening -- my fiance got the steak and I got the salmon. My fiance is pretty 50/50 on how good his steak experiences are in restaurants and he was very satisfied with the entree he had. My salmon cakes were SO good, everything tasted very fresh. The server also did a great job recommending a white wine to pair with my meal. We finished off with our dessert, I had the flourless chocolate torte and my fiance had (I can't recall exactly) a banana cream cheese churro I think? The desserts were amazing every time we've gone. We've had more chances to try other tapas items, the arancini is delicious as well. Also of note was that we had a good group dining experience here in February for a family members birthday. Overall if you haven't tried this spot make sure you do!

I throughly enjoyed the salad - crisp greens, perfect dressing and hot, crispy calamari. The tuna bowl followed - flavor was spot on, but the tuna itself was disappointing - tasted thawed and texture was meh. The biggest disappointment with Tapas was just the location itself being down in a dark basement - not my favorite environment. Would try again when the weather is nice and their patio is open. Server was very nice!

I had booked my rehearsal dinner with Capri when they were a wine bar. Imagine my surprise when I randomly see on Instagram that they have completely rebranded and redesigned the restaurant to be a sports bar. Painted the interior black, changed the menu, even completed the space with some dart boards, a pool table, and beer decor. Not ONCE did they let me know about this change. I felt it was completely warranted that I get my $500 deposit back as this was far from the appropriate vibe for a rehearsal dinner and never was I even given the courtesy of letting me know their restaurant was changing. I have since reached out via email multiple times and left multiple voicemails without reply. I then messaged them on instagram asking for their contact, which they very promptly replied to because they weren't aware who I was. I confirmed the event coordinator was the same woman and email was the same. She has just been ignoring me. I then replied and told them to reply and asked they give me my deposit back and (shocker) they went MIA. Horrible business practices, I bet that if I didn't reach out to them and never saw about this change on Instagram, I would have showed up for my rehearsal dinner to discover this mess. Don't give them a cent of your money, they have plenty more than they deserve from holding my hundreds of dollars hostage :)

They also have a surprisingly large food menu, but we just had cocktails and dessert. Drinks were just OK, but the desserts were great! Definitely recommend the chocolate raspberry cake. There was street parking available in front of the restaurant and on either side of the street. When we walked in the first thing I noticed was the decor. Everything was beautifully decorated and so welcoming. The bar was to the right and the host stand a little further up. I didn't get a picture when we walked in but there was the cutest orange stand and a sign with an arrow pointing to the host stand. They had live music that night and it was pretty busy. Once we were seated we did wait for some time before someone came to greet us but the person that sat us did bring us water. When someone came over they were very apologetic for the wait and let us know there may be a little delay with the food but was very proactive with making drink recommendations and took our food order before leaving the table. Our drinks were delicious! I got the coconut lime margarita and it was so flavorful. My friend got the espresso martini and she said it was so good. We enjoyed the music while we waited and all of the waitresses would check on us anytime they walked by. We ordered a second round of drinks and I got the pistachio martini and my friend got the crème brûlée martini and both were great. I really like this restaurant because they offer small plates so my friend and I picked a few we both wanted to try. We got the stuffed gnocchi flight, arancini classico, and ahi tuna martini. All 3 were 10/10 on the taste scale. My favorite of the gnocchi flight is the one with pesto. The arancini was so tasty and the sauce that came with them was a perfect pairing. The cilantro crema on the ahi tuna martini was the star of the dish. Overall, this was an incredible dining experience and I'd love to come again to try some items from their dessert menu and on a night with no live music.

I've always loved the food at the classic, not only because the food is fantastic, but also because owner Drew is very personable and friendly. We decided to do the classics "Sippin' South" themed dinner. We had already done a beer pairing dinner at the classics several years ago, when they collaborated with one of our favorite local breweries, iron tug, to create an amazing multicourse experience. Firstly, the ambience was excellent and the atmosphere excited. we choose to sit at a table with two other couples we had never met before, but were glad to have interacted with as we shared in our common love of food in the great city of Rochester. We truly loved the pairing of each cocktail with the food. I think everybody loved the appetizer which featured a toasted bread with savory pimento cheese on top with a fresh salad with crunchy ham that functioned almost like a crouton! I personally loved the combination of onions and olives as well. The first cocktail was one of my favorites as it was a take on a whiskey sour with corn liquor with a tajin topping that was a stark savory contrast to the sweetness of the drink, but worked well. Next couple of cocktails included a take on a highball, a sweeter, coconut, flavored cocktail featuring a rum caste bourbon, and finally ending with a toasted bourbon drink that reminded me of an after dinner port. As far as the food, the chicken slider was delicious, and the chicken itself was well seasoned, my only nitpick was perhaps some sort of a aïoli spread to make it a little bit more moist, but this was made up by a delicious coleslaw with fresh vegetables! The lamb was excellent and served with perfectly cooked polenta. We finally ended with one of my favorite dishes, the caramel pecan bread pudding, which was a great end to this lovely dinner. Lastly, I thought the service was excellent and the dishes were well timed, I wish there were one or two more courses because the price was a bit steep in my opinion for the amount of food, although the drinks were plentiful and let's just say I was glad to have a designated driver!! All in all, we will return again to the classic kitchen :)
