If I could rate 0 stars, I would. DO NOT GO HERE!!! This vet failed to recognize the severity of my family's dogs ear infection & prescribed him ear drops that ended up in a trip to the emergency vet. The drops they prescribed did not fight the infection & ended up damaging his ear behind the infection & created nerve damage in his eye. He is currently unable to see out of his one eye. The emergency vet that we took him to (because this vet told us they "can't see him until 1:45 pm" when we called at 7 am to report the issues post giving the drops they prescribed) told us this could progress into his brain. They offered no help, and no accountability. He is four years old & now may have long term damage to his eye and ear. They didn't even offer to refund the ear drops, which is the least of our worries, but would have gone a long way. We also had our dogs here for routine shots not that long ago & our other dog ended up having seizures post vaccines!! We have NEVER had issues before this vet with any problems like these. I don't know what they're doing with their medications or procedures but something's not right. read more

We have dual residency and are remodeling our WNY residence. Being we were going to be here 3-4 weeks then returning in second week of July for the summer, I had to bring my dog. He got a UTI. Knowing his discomfort, I called around and all I could do was get in here for an emergency visit. I explained we needed a local vet as our other one is 13 hours away. Got an exam and bloodwork. Was prescribed antibiotics, great. Thought we had a new local vet. He's almost 17, the day before we are to drive 13 hours back to our primary residence, he was up all night with loose stool. Everywhere. When I called V V, and explained I will need something to help stop it for the drive I was told someone would check with the doctor. I'll post a pic of the response I got. Apparently, because I took an emergency appointment, he is not considered an "established client"! Why did I have my other vet send over his file then??? Why the bloodwork? Very confused. This wasn't my first choice of vet based on reviews, now they are my last choice based on response. I called my OOS vet and you know what? They are sending scripts in for me!! That is a place that cares about animals!! V V didn't even bother asking me to bring him in! Horrible service. My vet back home was shocked when I mentioned what happened as I apologized for calling them again to script me something long distance. V V didn't lose one customer, but 5! We have 2 sphynx, 1 tabby, and 1 calico aside from my elderly dog. Telling me to go see my primary vet a 13 hour drive away was not appropriate! I explained everything to them. If I needed another visit to become an "established client", they should have mentioned that on my visit so I could have scheduled another visit that wasn't an "ER" visit. Why did they think I had his file sent to them?? Poor, poor practice. We spend thousands each year on pets as one sphynx has a few conditions, they require ultrasounds and cardiology work ups, my dog is elderly and goes to the vet a bit. One kitten we bottle fed since 3 weeks old. I've taken in strays and even wildlife to vets. We care! V V obviously does not. I wonder if they knew the income potential that would have made them care, because the condition of my pet certainly did not. When I get back in town, I am getting him in with my first choice vet that has outstanding reviews. I will just need to pray he won't need ER care as I will not patronize V V again. read more

There was no rush, no pushing in a certain direction....just presented with the facts and then left it up to me to decide. Even afterward, no attempt to get out right away...given the opportunity to take as much as needed. I am devastated to be writing this. I took my 2-year-old cat to Hamburg Vet for an emergency visit after he stopped eating for days and developed a strange, unsteady walk. I was terrified for him and needed real answers. Unfortunately, in my experience, he didn't get the thorough care an emergency visit should include. They only felt his stomach for lumps and sent us home with liquid antibiotics and L-Lysine. They did not listen to his lungs, did not run bloodwork, and didn't recommend any additional diagnostics. I repeatedly expressed how worried I was, but I was told it was "just a cold." This gave us hope, so we pushed through stressful at-home treatments--pulling him out from hiding spots to give meds, force-feeding him for days, watching him get skinnier, and hoping each dose would make a difference. Instead, he continued to decline. When things got worse, I called back, desperate for guidance, and was told a vet wouldn't be available to speak with me until the next day. At that point, after other past negative experiences with this clinic, we decided to seek help elsewhere. We made another emergency appointment, this time with Eden Vet. We waited two hours to be seen, holding onto hope--but during that time, he passed away in my arms. The vet there told us he had liver disease, and in their opinion, the care he received at Hamburg Vet did not reflect the severity of his condition. I cannot express how heartbreaking it is to think that his last days were filled with unnecessary stress--for him and for us--because we were reassured he only had a cold. I feel that Hamburg Vet failed him when he needed them most, and in my experience, it caused avoidable suffering. I will never return to this clinic. My dog Dashwood started being followed by Dr. Cely for treatment and Physical Therapy. From the kindness and compassion the entire staff showed Dash and I, I knew we were at the right facility. Dash's back problems were a challenge however they helped keep him comfortable and with me for many months. Today I made the heartbreaking decision to let him go, his conditions were becoming worse, and I knew he no longer was happy with his life. Dr. Cely and her kind and compassionate staff could not be more comforting to Dash and myself. I cannot thank them enough. I am eternally grateful for the medical care Dash received and especially on his final day. Goodbye my good boy Dashwood, mommy will always love you, you were very brave today. read more

That isn't true Mr wife called back in that Monday November 24th asking for further help and input... she was told that no doctors could talk to her and someone only further more continued to talk to her only after she pushed further. Also in your response you claimed I never mention anything on November 15th when I first called about taboo not eating. That was the FIRST thing I said as I've had cats my entire life and I know it's a problem once they start that. Regardless of diagnosis with a cold you guys failed to check his vital organs or offer any other tests. Also regarding the diagnosis if it was just a cold they antibiotics would have treated him and we would've seen improvements not declining. Your response to us only further more proved that you guys want to pin the blame on us the owners. I also have to mention that I was supposed to be emailed a receipt upon the appointment and I never received said receipt. If you and your team truly cared about any loss or pain you wouldn't continue by extending the blame on "not coming back, or you were happy with the diagnosis" no one said they were happy as we are NOT doctors. We have gone through many visits some of which included Physical Therapy, Acupuncture and Laser Therapy ending with the euthanasia of our 13 year old beloved family pet. Thereafter, we rescued a 3 year old puppy mill release. I called for an appointment to register our new pup two weeks later only to be told they're not accepting new patients. When I asked why, I was told "sorry but that's our policy." I stated we have been coming to Village Vet for 12 years. Because we have a new pet you won't accept us? They got us in right away and took care of our dogs issues. We had a follow-up visit, and they prepared an advanced treatment which took care of her gastrointestinal needs, they even called up to check on how our dog was doing. Highly recommended friendly fast and extremely knowledgeable. Dr. Joy spent an extended time with us, explaining the treatment plan and answered all of our questions for our 15-year-old dog. My dog was a patient at VVC since the time we got her in 2018 until about a month ago. They have never been anything other than ordinary. They seem to be most concerned with their boarding resort, opposed to actual pet care. More times than I can count, they sent incorrect medication for my dog, despite communicating to them over and over that she had an adverse reaction to trazodone. Our breaking point was about a month ago when she ripped her dewclaw, was bleeding, and in a great deal of pain. We called the VVC and they tried to discourage us from coming in for unclear reasons. I think it was their lunch? They said we should just wait 3 days until her upcoming appointment to avoid additional cost. They didn't seem concerned that her dewclaw was hanging off her foot or she was in pain, despite expressing this repeatedly. They very obviously couldn't be bothered and didn't offer any helpful information or advice. Thankfully, we took her to the Abbott Road Animal Hospital that day and they were very kind and helpful. They gave her medication for her pain, removed what was left of her dewclaw, and stopped the bleeding. After taking my animal here for about four years, I can tell you that the 5-minute monologue you hear when you first call about "hanging up if patients are rude" and not tolerating unsavory language etc etc, 150% says more about VVC than it does about it's patrons... go elsewhere. read more

I brought my kitten for a check up & a new visit. I was actually looking for a new vet because the other one I went to I really didn't like (& wrote a bad review). I really liked them. I drove up told them I was in the parking lot. Unfortunately, I couldn't go in with my kitty but that's ok. When they brought him inside they called me. Asked if I had any questions and concerns. We brought our 3 dogs in for their very first visit. For the first time in 45 years, we were changing Vets and chose the Village Veterinary after reviewing their staff and services they provide. We made the right choice. From the very first, we were made to feel welcome and appreciated. The reception staff were quick and efficient without making us feel rushed. The waiting room was spacious and kept exceptionally clean. The vet tech that escorted us to the examination room was very friendly and treated our pets as very special guests. The wait in the room was minimal. When Dr Krezmien came in, she knelt down on the floor and played with the dogs. They immediately felt happy and relaxed. The examinations were thorough and all of our questions were answered clearly and in an understandable manor, not "Doctor speak." Check out was quick and we were amazed at the cost. We were expecting to pay much, much more. Parking is adequate. There is even a dog park there. Our choice was correct. This is a very professional practice. read more

We started bringing our two dogs to this vet April 2021, one of which requires frequent visits. The care is truly pretty good, and I trust them with my pets. The major downside and why we will be seeking out other care is that the costs are double what we used to pay at our vet in the northtowns. If you have a pet that needs regular care, it is difficult to afford. Cost aside, the general experience we've had is that there is typically a 20 minute wait on hold before getting to speak to someone, and many of the visits we have had could have been phone calls--The vet we see there even waived an appointment fee for us once as the appointment was so unnecessary all together which was appreciated. They have a beautiful facility, but clearly shows in the fees you will pay to have an appointment there. There are definitely less expensive places with even better care. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Let me start by saying I have 2 dogs, 4 cats, and a reptile breeding program, so nearly 100 reptiles. We are well versed in veterinarians. We used to go to this clinic and had to leave because they were so terrible with our pets and extremely rude to us. They were fine with our dogs but when it came to our cats I would go ANYWHERE else before I went back to this place. They yanked around my cat and were so aggressive with him and then wondered why he was getting an attitude with them. I've never seen a vet so bad with cats. And just now, in an emergency with the same cat, we called because they were one of the only vets currently open and they were EXTREMELY rude to us. My boyfriend started explaining that our cat has swollen eyes and discharge and the lady on the phone immediately cuts him off and starts being extremely rude to him telling him that it's only emergency vets and he needs to stop because she's only the receptionist and there are only emergency surgeons there and he can't just come in right now (not that he had even suggested to do so - he was simply asking if they thought it was necessary to bring him in ASAP) so he tells her to forget about it because we're not bringing our cat there regardless if that's how they're going to treat us on the phone before we even get there. They have terrible service and were horrible with all of our cats. We switched to Southtowns Animal Hospital and couldn't be happier. read more

I was originally so grateful to get an appointment here for my puppy. They accommodated me and my dog for 8 week puppy shots after I had called multiple other places and everyone else was booked out at least 2 months. The first appointment with Dr. Krezmein was great, she and the tech were wonderful. The tech visits after were also great. However, I had two visits with Dr Joy and was unimpressed. He and the other male tech were very off putting and were pressuring me about a lot of extra treatment I didn't feel my dog needs so soon and at her current size (she is a dachshund, under 10lbs). While I understand Vets and Techs are very knowledgeable, no means no, or at least not yet. At one vaccination appointment I really felt they manhandled my dog, who was only 6lbs at the time. She is an otherwise quiet and well behaved puppy who only barks when she wants to play. Now she has been consistently barking at men, and I really feel this was the catalyst. I will be looking for another vet as soon as her puppy shots are finished. read more

When I first got my puppy, I asked around my friends and family to find out where we should go for a vet. Village Veterinary Clinic was highly recommended. The front desk staff is so friendly, they offer a daycare service, they have emergency vet services and a 24 hour on-call service. They are very vocal on their social media pages and always offer friendly conversation and advice. I have witnessed the staff there treat every animal that walks through those doors as if they were their very own pet. I now bring both of my corgis there and they have been so helpful with everything! When my babies got fixed, they called me every 3 hours (per my request) with any updates regarding their surgery. until Saturday, the 22nd. my review would have been a 5 star rating; however my app't for Sat with my large sized Yellow lab was a disaster! I loaded him into my car with a very sore back ( I could barely move ),,,,, he barked LOUDLY and continued in the parking lot.... because I cannot handle him and was afraid that he'd run into the street I attempted to call for help ( which I have done before). whenever I say 'hello' he barks ( no matter where we are) ,,,, so as I am trying to listen to the many prompts from the veterinary phone He was barking in my ear! I then called 2 more times because the prompts offered didn't apply to me! The third time, I dialed one ( even tho I had no emergency) and I had the receptionist on the line, so I asked if someone could walk my dog in for his shots. She said " unfortunately because you are late , we need to reschedule the appt! Figure this out, appt was NOT made by me, it was made by vet personnel for 1:20pm ( my car's clock read 1: 22 when I parked in the handicap spot) I called three times, each call takes 1min and 30 seconds ( try it) that's 4 and 1/2 minutes on their phone!!! Me with excruciating back pain right outside the door??? Not even worthy of one star! the week before that, I took my caged cat and still had to wait in the waiting room for someone to find us a room? So you decide, if I have to wait for them shouldn't they accommodate me? I wasted my afternoon and my gas for their whim! read more

So far I am pleased with their service. They were the only vet that offered an opening for PT appt. as everyone I called was either booked or not accepting clients. I have a five year old small dog who has the body of a 15 year old dog (arthritis, torn acl, hip dysplasia, arthritis all since she was a puppy) My vet recommended PT for her issues. I was able to get an appt in a reasonable time, the staff was courteous, and the vet was knowledgeable. The vet is recommending a very comprehensive plan including PT ( massage, laser therapy, and tens unit) and meds changes to start. She took time to explain my dogs condition and treatment plan, I was appreciative of this. Cons: the prices for PT are a bit exorbitant at $150/session and a 10 pack at a discount of $1200 . You have to have $ to provide these services, so I would say save or consider another option. I will continue to provide feedback of my dog's course of therapy, if I am able. I am hoping that all goes well as this will hopefully provide a little bit of quality to my dog's life. Btw; I loved the little dog park that they created which is attached to the clinic, this was a nice feature. read more

We have had multiple animals as patients at the Village Vets for many years. Including our 3 year old cat. I called to make an appointment and they had one that was well within the normal business hours, however it is an emergency visit. When I asked them about how they can do that the one comment from the person answering the phone was they are booked up all afternoon with emergency visits. So if you have patients that schedule during normal business hours and all you have is emergency visits, does that sound a bit odd since they charge quite a bit more for emergency visits? or is it just me. I have a hard time believing that they are scheduling out normal visits over a month out. Every time we have been there before there has been rarely anyone else there. Price gouging maybe? We will be moving our remaining pets health to another practice. read more

I had never been treated or disrespect by a service industry business as Village Vet. Of Hamburg. We had schedule a surgery for our dog, and was informed by their company to bring him in at 7:20am. We got there a bit early at 7:00. They asked us to provide drugs to our dog so that he would be a bit elusive prior to the surgery. Upon arrival, we were not permitted to come in. We were told at that time that there was paperwork to fillEd out. We started to get confused as to why we were not provide paperwork prior to the appointment. Having NO EMPATHY, we were told to wait outside with our drugged up 100lb dog. our dog was so out of it. We tried to question why this was happening. Again with NO EMPATHY, the employee comes out of the office and gets in our face and instructs us that we have NO reason to disobey his authority and instructs us to leave the premises or he will call the police. We had to leave with a drugged up dog. We tried to call back and speak to management, but again threatened to call the police. And a letter came three days later to inform us that if we called, emailed or contact them in any way, the vet office would call the police. Where is the EMPATHY for caring for our dog? It seems that this is a on-going issue with this vet office. They are consistory hanging poster "that if you disrespect their office, you would be kicked out." I have witnessed an empty lobby, a phone call comes in and they put you on hold for 5-10 minutes. While the caller is on hold, their employees are laughing and telling stories to each other. You would hope that your veterinarian needs, would be met with professional whom have EMPATHY. Do Not bring your pets to Village Veterinarian of Hamburg! read more

I have two cats that I have been taking there for 4 years now. Dr. K treated my older cat, who had some on going health problems (she was 14 years old). Dr. K is so wonderful, knowledgeable and compassionate. You can tell that she has a real love for animals and I felt like she took excellent care of my cat. Recently, my older cat was sick and I made the decision to put her to sleep. Dr. Reyda, along with the entire staff, was incredible at counseling me on various treatment options, while being realistic at the same time. I can not say enough wonderful things about everyone there from the vets to front desk workers. I am overwhelmed with the love, compassion and empathy they show my animals. When you call and tell them your dogs has fleas and they tell you to come to your appointment and they will check. You then proceed to drive 50 miles one way for your dogs therapy appointment. When you return to pick up your dog they tell you they didn't do therapy on your dog because of fleas. Then they handed me a schedule of my dogs future appointments. I let them know months ago I have a very sick family member and that I will schedule her therapy appointments when I can. I also ask them when I dropped my dog off to please adjust some of her at home therapy to make it easier for me to do home and they never responded back to me or talk to me that day about any of her home therapy. So I called to complain about everything that happened and they didn't want to hear what I had to say because they said I talked vulgar. I didn't swear at them but using the word bullshit and that must be considered vulgar. They didn't want to hear my opinion, but sent me a letter canceling my dogs pre-paid visit. I am offended by the way I was treated and not wanting to communicate and work with me. PS - Last year my dog barked at the Vet doctor who does the therapy. So then the Vet proceeds to leave the room and had someone else come back and put a muzzle on my dog. My dog didn't like that. She never had a muzzle on her before. She is a friendly dog and never was treated that way. If the vet is afraid of bigger dogs maybe she shouldn't be a vet therapist. Bottom line - don't give your opinion if it's not a good one. read more

Called Village Veterinary and they had me in within 30 min, took some xrays, found the issue (sinusitis), and prescribed some meds to address the issue. I've been going here for a couple years and haven't had to many bad experiences until this recent experience which has left me absolutely disgusted. My cat is having symptoms of asthma. At the last apt the doctor told me to call if she starts having symptoms so we could start an inhaler. I wouldn't need to come back in, I could just call and they would send the script to the pharmacy for me to pick it up. I called Friday morning and left a message at 6am. No call back. Called Friday afternoon and was told the doctor would call me back. No call back. Waited Saturday and didn't hear anything. Called Sunday and left a message but no call back. Now I understand the weekend is for emergency visits only, but is a breathing problem not an emergency?? Called monday and was told the doctor who I saw last doesn't come in until Tuesday and would call me then. First of all, couldn't someone tell me they were doing that so I wasn't calling everyday? Second of all, my cat is having trouble breathing, why wouldn't another doctor cover for the doctor who is off?? I'm so angry and disappointed at the lack of care and follow up! It prescribes medication for my dog that it will not refill when it is necessary causing me to bring my dog in on an emergency visit costing me 1000s of dollars. I get lied to when asking for a manager. When the pharmacy calls the vet, the doctor can never be reached to refill a medication which, when not given, is life threating to the dog. read more

I brought my 6 year old cat in this morning with symptoms of weight loss, bad breath, increased thirst, vomiting, decreased appetite, and generally looking ill and not behaving as normal. I had brought him to a different hospital the week before and was told after an x-ray and never being offered labs or a urine sample on him that he was constipated and just give him Miralax, which that trip cost me $400. Fast forward to today when I had to take him in for same ( but more severe) symptoms to Hamburg village vet and immediately labs were drawn (with results in 20 mins) come to find out he has kidney disease and a UTI and needs to stay overnight for 48 hours for dialysis and antibiotics. I was happy to consent to treatment as my cat is like my baby. I left in hysterics as I was so upset that this could have been caught last week by the other hospital and he wouldnt have to suffer. But Hamburg village vet is currently caring for him, have updated me and thoroughly explained his treatment plan. I was visibly upset over his condition and they were comforting, patient and understanding. I am hoping for a full recovery and can't thank them enough for their excellent treatment. My dog, aged 12, has not been acting well for the last two weeks. He was panting heavily and trembling to the point where I was very concerned. He had seen his own doctor twice and an additional layer of pain medications had been added for his arthritis but this weekend was particularly trying on him. When I called to see if they could see him, they were kind and concerned and I felt welcomed. Their veterinarian was able to find that in addition to arthritis in his legs, he also had a narrowing in his spine which was causing him enough pain to bring about the panting and trembling. Everyone at the Village Vet are so helpful. Dr. K is amazing. She is very patient, listens to what you say and truly shows that she is concerned about your pet. She embraces, pets and kisses our "girl" like she was her own. Dr. K diagnosed and resolved a health issue that our pet was having since the day we got her 7 years ago during our first examination.
