You could spend an entire day touring from the hotel down into Lenox, MA or up to Manchester, VT. I wish they could get a pizza place or chinese place to deliver to their hotel, but plenty of places with a short 5-15 minute drive. I would love to see this little beauty updated, maybe some of the rooms transformed to take on the look of wood cabins. That would be perfect for the location of this motel. I think an improved wifi would be great, but that might require a cell tower placed on the mountain. We found this motel! What a good find it was! It's location was pretty good. Just minutes from MCLA! As we walked in the business owner greeted us. This little old lady. Who was more than helpful and friendly to us! Her and her family have been running this motel forever! She had shared stories with us about her family and the old race track up the road from her motel. So their hey days are over in terms of races. The room was very comfy! We got a room with 2 beds (Even though we only needed 1!), mini frig, AC, cable TV, and a clean bathroom! She only charged us $60 a night too...So its a GREAT deal! Check out was at 11:00am. As we checked out she even offered us coffee and made sure we had a great stay! It was a great stay and we look forward to doing it again next year! Perfect 5/5! Parking was convenient, right next to our room. WiFi was pretty fast. Would stay here again if in the area.

It is a minimal fee, but for the price they charge for a room, that's just nickel & diming the guest. They also make you sign an agreement that you will not bring any alcohol into your room. You either purchase from their "bar" in the lobby, or from the mini bar in the room. Neither of us are drinkers so it didn't affect us, but they charged us for a bottle of wine that we didn't take! If you want to stay there, check your charges when you get home.

It was not perfect, but 4 of us stayed comfortably and we easily could have hosted 4 others although maybe less comfortably. Check-in and service we received were great. We called twice before coming, one call was better (a middle aged male I think) and one was less than optimistic (younger female) but the person did seem to warn us that they would try to get is to our unit by the 4pm check in time. Honestly, I don't fault someone setting expectations correctly so I didn't hold this against them-I prefer truth and by being a little concerned maybe that made me pleasantly surprised when they were prepared to let us in before 4pm (but we did arrive later than we would have had the lady not warned us). Also noteworthy - every conversation we had with guest services were very pleasant and there was ALWAYS someone or multiple people at the desk. This was in early to mid May just to give you context. The unit itself was well appointed if a little tired in some places (couch was a bit dated as were some of the dinning room chairs) but the kitch and baths seemed good, save low water pressure and hot water taking a bit to come up as someone else mentioned. Heating unit was good, never tried the A/C. All the locks, cable/TV, stoves, etc. worked flawlessly (minus a crack in a carafe that must have been there prior to our arrival), we were even able to hook up a streaming stick in one of the units (not the other because of the model of the TV) which helped us enjoy the unit a lot in the evenings. The Pool and Jacuzzi were fantastic. The temp of the Jacuzzi was warm-like it should be-so I do recommend either getting out as advised after 20-30 mins or going into the pool to cool off a bit before going back. I'm sure the timing of our visit was key but our party used the facilities several times before anyone else were using them-I wouldn't expect this but we tried to go at dinner time to have some time to ourselves and we got lucky every time...and that worked well as we are late eaters. The location we are use to because we have stayed down the road at the now closed Bentley Brook (which we loved) and love the location of the resort in Hancock. Due note, for almost anything you have a 15-30 minute drive to Pittsfield, Williamstown, etc. on the East Side of the mountain the place is nesteld or Stephenstown and New Lebanon to the West/Southwest. We have stayed in the Berkshires a lot over the years and really like this quiet area. We tend to take road trips on nice weather days and have been virtually every direction in a circe about 1.5 hours. Other than the obvious close towns of Williamstown, North Adams, Pittsfield, Lenox and New Lebanon (which has a few close decent/good restauants) we recommend day trips to Albany, Great Barrington, Bennington VT and Hudson/Catskill NY. Saratoga and Lake George are a little farther and would require a long day but are doable from there if you are ambitious. Def would stay here again in a few years...but we have been to the Berkshires in most seasons and are good on it now for a bit. Hope this helps someone make the decision.

The bedroom is very cold the whole night and we had to sleep near the fireplace in the living room. The worst thing is the front desk personnel didn't even apologize for such a bad maintenance and suggested I should just wait for hot water and wait for hot air.

With driving rain and a road detour making it harder to find, I am glad I made the effort. Not a big deal, but I don't know that this is something you'll really know until check-in. The building a few doors down where I stayed also appeared to be historic though a bit less grand on the main level than the main house. The lobby of the building was festively decorated for the holiday. With the bright windows, a sofa, Christmas music playing, and a tree twinkling, one afternoon I couldn't resist getting a little work done in the lobby. My room was cozy with a small kitchenette, bed, arm chairs, and desk. The arm chairs are cute but not very comfortable. The desk was perfectly positioned overlooking the windows, which made for a great spot to work. The bed was pretty uncomfortable and probably needs to be replaced (it was sinking on both sides with a high spot in the middle). For my solo traveling girlies: +The inn is not staffed all night +Doors have old fashioned keys, deadbolts, and chains +The surrounding neighborhood seems nice and safe enough +Parking is slightly off site and requires walking around the block or through the back of the property. If you don't need to bring a car, I'd opt for uber +I think there may be some permanent residents in the additional property (a couple doors down from the main house) All and all, it's a beautiful, historic property, which is one of my favorite sorts to stay in. I wouldn't likely stay there again solo, but would absolutely stay with my partner!

The main one being that I was unable to enjoy the tub as much as I would have liked. The first night the jets didn't work, and someone was nice enough to come by the next day and fix it. Later that night I was looking forward to finally using the tub as intended (and even cancelled a spa day for it) but the other guests had already used all of the hot water by then. I left without getting much of any enjoyment from the tub, which is the main reason I booked the room in the first place. The other issue was the parking situation, which, to be fair, I should have anticipated before booking, considering its location. The parking spot doesn't come with the room, so you must pay extra to access it, and finding it in the dark after dinner is not easy when you have to follow a paper map and there is a line of cars behind you. Walking back to the inn alone in the dark was also pretty unsettling. Overall, this experience was the opposite of relaxing. I will say that the property is very pretty, though, and seemed to be clean.

Whatever. That's fine. This is a no frills, old school motel with some charming features. The manager, Joe, is very friendly and accommodating. Good at recommending places. Puts out a nice breakfast. The first room we were given smelled like cat pee so we requested another room. Joe took a whiff and agreed. So they do accept pets! Second room fine. We booked our reservation for 3 nights through Booking.com. On our day of check out we said goodbye to Joe so we know he knew we were checking out. Later we got a credit card bill for 4 nights! It took several phone calls to Joe (he didn't return calls) and when we finally got through he argued that we stayed 4 nights. Sent him the booking.com reservation showing we only booked for 3 nights. Finally the owner who lives in FL got involved and he also maintained we had reserved for 4 nights! It was totally ridiculous considering we had the booking.com reservation showing 3 nights. Finally we turned it over to booking.com to deal with them which involved several phone calls, sending our credit card statement, etc. Ultimately booking.com issued us a refund for the fourth night so guess they dealt with the management. So the bottom line is: OK to stay here but be sure to get a receipt when you check out! After writing this review, someone sent me the owner's Facebook link. Now I KNOW I'll never stay there again. Stay…read moreBerkshires in Williamstown was a terrific home base for our exploring all of what the Berkshires has to offer. Joe, the general manager, was very helpful with all of our needs. We chose Room #8 as it has the best view of the stream. The room was clean, simply decorated, with TV, microwave, and minifridge. The shower was delightfully hot. The breakfast was plentiful and a nice bonus. I highly recommend these accommodations!
