More practical things hikers rely on, like guest computers and shuttle services. Their lackluster breakfast fruit display doesn't make up for the fact that the woman who runs this business told me she hopes I "break my leg on trail" because I mentioned the website, (and therefore was nervous about their integrity) and asked for a receipt at check out. Hey, it's a motel and not the Hyatt. The neighbors are heard through the walls. The floor squeaks a little. It is cold until the radiant heat gets going. It fits 2 full beds and a small desk and dresser. Excellent We visited the Taconic Golf Club. We played golf and stayed at willows for five nights. This Willows Motel Is as beautiful as it's surroundings with beautiful flowers . Compliments to the Excellent Front Desk staff with cold water and candy Great Customer service and genuine care for guests! Room was well decorated and the new mattress bed was super comfortable. Shower and bathroom were high end (water pressure and a well built/designed bathroom are evidently important to me. The Breakfast is awesome four different types of coffee and drinks were VERY good and the wait staff excels.Outside the restaurant is a large comfortable fire pit with Adirondack Chairs and a great end to the night. Sweet little motel for anyone visiting the Berkshires on a budget! The rooms are small but cozy and clean, the staff is super friendly and helpful, and the location is really convenient - very close to restaurants, shops and sights (Museum of Dog, Mount Greylock, etc). My boyfriend and I read yelp reviews of this place before booking and were amused and bewildered by all the reviews raving about a motel's continental breakfast....until we saw the continental breakfast! Seriously, it was lovely for such a tiny place. They provided bagels, fruit bread, Chobani and Activia, juice, coffee, cereal, fresh pastries, and TONS of fresh fruit. Seriously, they had everything from apples to grapes to kiwis. My boyfriend had his first lychee thanks to this place! They also brought in fresh donuts for all the diehard Dunkin fans - seriously, Willows covered all their breakfast bases. We went to this motel for five days as our kids had camp at Mass MoCA and we were out of State. The best breakfast that anybody has ever served in a hotel! Organic tea, seasonal fruit and nuts, and some sweet treats. My son had a stomach ache and I asked if they had peppermint tea, and the owner made us fresh ginger tea with honey. It was delicious! The pool in the back was also a big hit with the kids! I highly recommend this hotel! Super friendly people and everything was very clean and welcoming! read more

If you're looking for a motel that's convenient to the college, modestly priced, friendly, that over-delivers on effort and care, you can stop looking! The couple that runs this place could not be nicer. The outside of the hotel demonstrates their love and appreciation for nature and for gardening. The whole place is very well tended and everyone seems to be working very hard. My room had 2 Queen beds, new mattresses, a large TV on the opposing wall, Wi-Fi, an abundance of towels, and I was perfectly happy there. At one point, I thought I had a problem with the heat. It was late in the evening, but he came over immediately with an electric radiator! The continental breakfast was so much more than that label suggests. It was served right in the office, and had all the usual offerings. It also had separate bowls of 3 different kinds of nuts, separate bowls of 3 different kinds of organic berries, and separate bowls of different types of organic fruit. There was granola and even Chobani yogurt, as well as different kinds of toast good bagels, ecetera. I happily took mine back to my room with no nasty looks. I also noticed 3 European fellow boarders, a retiree couple with connections to the area and a young couple hiking the Appalachian trail and a few singles. I would so go back! Great experience. We stayed 2 nights at the Willows Motel for my niece's graduation. It's a very pleasant 2-story motor court which has been refurbished recently, everything from the parking lot and landscaping to new mattresses, complete bathroom makeover and carpets. The owner/staff were very pleasant and solicitous, and could not have been more accommodating in making sure we were comfortable and had everything we need. We were there in a heat wave, it was 96F outside, but the powerful A/C unit kept the room as cool as 66F if we desired. The continental breakfast consisted of various fruits, yogurt, muffins, juices, really good coffee, etc, and there were several umbrella'ed picnic tables outside that made for a great setting. Even though we booked 3 nights and cancelled one of them after the deadline, they did not charge us for the extra night. We did not find time to try the pool, but it looked well-kept and clean. Everything about our stay was pleasant, and we highly recommend staying there whenever in the Williamstown/North Adams area. read more

We love love love this motel, have been staying here on and off over the past few years. Some years were pleasure trips, others sad reasons to visit. The owners have let me in late at night, even on the spur of the moment when all rooms but the largest suite were taken, they let me have a bed before venturing to the hospital to visit my ailing parent. We've come in from Chicago on motorcycles, rental cars, even towing our 55 Chevy, and they always made sure we were comfortable and securely parked. The rooms are always clean, and the owners very pleasant and accommodating. Recently they have been doing room upgrades which are awesome. Love having the continental breakfast, plenty to choose from, on the deck by the office, or just having a glass of wine by the picnic benches. There is so much beauty in the area, so many activities including the colleges, museums, galleries and theatres...mountains and so much more....come during any season...the area will always make you feel at peace. For me, there is no other place to stay, and as the years go on, i will only be coming to town for visits to the cemetery, but I know that my stay will be pleasant and my visits comfortable. read more

Solid. Split the hotel with 3 others Solid Sound weekend, and my bedmate and I didn't need to spoon to fit comfortably on the bed. The room was clean, well-maintained, simple, but had a dorm-sized fridge (very important on a festival weekend)! This has been the cheapest option of hotel that I've stayed at for the last 3 Solid Sound festivals, and also the closest to Mass MoCA at only 4.3 miles away - it's set up right next to one of the festival shuttles (mere steps out the door), but since I'm a walker I actually walked the 4.3 miles to Mass MoCA and it was a really lovely trek, too. Bottom line-- this motel is just fine. One of the cheaper options in the area, it is a good driving distance from North Adams (10 minutes to Mass MoCA) and walkable to Williamstown center (just under a mile to Spring Street and just about a mile to campus center and the theater). The room was fine in size and came with a queen bed, AC, fridge, instant coffee service, and TV. The sheets and towels were nice and clean and there is daily housekeeping service. I wished the pillows were softer but hey, it's a motel. The mattress was fine. Also, even with the shades closed, there is some light from the parking lot that gets in. There was a small private bath (shower and tub). A nice touch was the close line in the shower, which allowed us to dry our swim suits without them dripping all over. Unfortunately, the room smelled damp and the floor, in fact, looked and felt like it gets soaked on a regular basis. Perhaps this tracks from the bathroom or seeps through the ground; I'm also sure that in winter, skiers and other visiters track in snow. The bathroom had a fan to suck away steam from the shower, but it sounded like a jet engine. This dampness/smell was the biggest drawback. A variety of candy bars are offered free to guests (this struck me as odd but nice, even though I didn't have any), and there are muffins and coffee in the morning. We did not attempt to procure said muffins, and I didn't see them anywhere, but I'm sure they were around somewhere. As a plus, they have a heated pool (it didn't feel warm, per se, but on the hot days that was fine). It is not too big but quite deep (it drops off to 7+ feet). There are some chairs and tables around the pool that seem a little the worse for wear. read more

Not your average roadside motel. Very friendly and attentive ownership, grounds are meticulously kept. Rooms are smallish, but whatever the water is hot, nice big HD TV sets, mattresses are on the soft side but whatever. Pro tip: Look in the drawers they have an extra pillow and blanket. Found that when we were checking out, but nice touch! Healthy breakfast foods to choose from are provided in the office room in the morning. Nuts, berries, yogurt, fresh fruit, etc. Or if youre like me they have Hostess donuts ;) They do have an inground pool in the back too, but it was empty because we stayed before June. Empty is better then ugly with ducks swimming in it, like you might find at a place nearby for $20 bucks less. Would recommend as a great value choice to new visitors to the area. And dont make the mistake I did which was drive to Lanesboro to go to Mt Greylock. The North Adams entrance is right on the same road 2 miles on the right from the motel. Very glad I did the research and found this motel. First choice when we go back in the fall. read more

The staff was beyond friendly, and helpful. They went out of their way to accommodate us - even making excellent suggestions as to where we could pick up a great evening meal. I stayed here for a trip to Mass. for my sister's college orientation. Funny story, but it's not the hotel we reserved a room for, but we didn't realize that until much later that night. My mom and I stayed in a room with a single bed and it was just fine. The owner is incredibly friendly, had recommendations on where to eat, and had a small breakfast for us the next morning. The room was clean and comfortable enough for one night. The bathroom, likewise was clean. It was small, but that was fine. It served our purpose. Overall it's a quaint little place. I enjoyed it and I'll definitely stay there again the next time I go up to visit my sister. There's Cumberland Farms very close and next door was the Olympic Pizza and Diner where we had a really good dinner. The owner suggested it, and I'm glad he did. We were pretty much the only people there most of the time, but don't let that concern you if you go. The owner was spot-on with his recommendation. They do have a pool, though we didn't use it, so I can't really review that, but it looked nice enough. read more

The motel itself was fine. Nothing special, but fine. Last year I had a fine stay there. This year I had a TERRIBLE experience with the owner. First, he lost my reservation (which I'd made 11 months prior) and I had no room three days before my trip (he did find me a room in another motel, crisis averted). Second, in negotiations to right the reservation situation, the previously friendly owner morphed into someone who was accusatory, hostile, inconsistent, and repeatedly interruped and had no interest in listening. It was quite shocking, definitely disrespectful, and felt downright demeaning. Needless to say, I will not return there. If your reservation is straightforward (as I had intended mine to be), I'd imagine your stay will be lovely. If not, good luck. read more

I stopped here for one night on a road trip and was pleasantly surprised. The place is kind of adorable. The staff is friendly and was more than happy to tell us about the town, gave us the internet passwords right off the bat and made sure we knew they were available if we needed anything. Plus there was a patio area and chairs set outside the rooms so people could sit outside and talk, which was cute. We could hear people talking from the room, but it wasn't anything that bothered us. The room itself is just fine, no complaints. And there is a breakfast in the morning in the office. Overall, I don't see myself ending up in the area again, but if I did, I'd definitely come back. read more

Not only is the Willows Motel extremely convenient to Williams College and the village center, the owners are friendly and attentive. They pay attention to repeat visitors, and welcome first-time visitors warmly. The rooms are bright and clean with special touches not always found in most motels. Coffee and tea, a hair-dryer, refrigerator, a small seating area even in a one-bed room. Wifi, although it was slow and sometimes balky. This is an older motel but it does have a pool and was comfortably air-conditioned. In fact, my room happened to have been just remodelled. Excellent mattress - slept very well. Very clean and tidy. Booked online and then canceled WITHIN the free cancellation window. Willows decided to charge me anyway - good thing I reviewed my credit card statement and saw the charge. When I called, they ended up refunding me, but it sounded as if this happened all the time as a scheme in hopes that some people wouldn't catch the charge. A lovely spot to enjoy Williamstown, MA, a really great town. The rooms were immaculate, as Paul, the proprietor had promised. He gushed when we checked in over the new carpeting, drapes, bathroom and 62" TV. He was right. Even better were the breakfasts - much more than would be expected from a motel. Yogurts, a wide variety of fruit and pastries, bagels and cereal. Just lovely to take breakfast outside to eat on one of the tables. However, we were disappointed in the pool, one of the reasons we booked at the Willow. Before dinner the first evening, I went to get in a swim and was not happy to see the pool being treated and closed. Worse was the condition of the pool area. Actually, it was disgusting. Even if the water had been swimmable, I probably would not have used it. The management was sufficiently apologetic, but did color my experience of the place. read more
