As an American in London, I thought this French restaurant quiet good. The staff was friendly and polite. I would highly recommend this place.

This deli is chic and an everyday place to stop over for a cup of coffee. They have a restaurant and bar as well so be prepared to be lured by creative french cuisine done very tastefully. Most of the basic food is imported and then its cooked up to make an array of interesting new dishes. Villandry sits in a part of London which is a residential and office mixed used of space. Marylebone high street is quiet a close walk from here. They have free baking lessons for kids; Little People's Cookie classes every Saturday at 1:00pm, but call to check in first. Saturday gets perfect when you wake up and crave for freshly baked bread with coffee, uuumm Villandry it is then. They have a great selection of baked breads mostly french........but fresh! So if you love your food and ambience, drop in to this very chic gourmet place.

I cannot recommend Villandry enough. My friend and I enjoyed ourselves thoroughly when we recently visited the Villandry Charcuterie for lunch. We enjoyed a cow's milk cheese platter, an Italian charcuterie plate with a leafy salad and a lovely bottle of wine. Absolutely fabulous. It was a chilled out afternoon where we sat for perhaps 4 hours catching up and enjoying the atmosphere. No one bothered us, they let us sit there enjoy out food and wine. Villandry is a foodstore, bakery and bar all in one. There meats are really fresh and tasty. Next time I will try the Steak and Old Speckled Hen Ale Pie. I will let you know how it goes.

The Croque Monsieur is my jam. Anytime. All the time. Every time. Served with a fresh, green, leafy salad and a sparkling water --- really, it's the meal of champions on Great Portland Street.

Villandry is a warm breakfast place in a very convenient location in the area. Their menu is simple, more simple than I initially thought, and they have tons of fresh baked goods. My friend ordered a bacon sandwich and I ordered an English muffin and a croissant. We were surprised to find the bacon sandwich was literally ONLY a few cooked strips of bacon between two pieces of white bread. I couldn't believe it. It was good, though. This is one of the more awkward dining experiences I've had. My waiter was simply an awkward person and we never knew what to do next. He staggered the delivery of our food in a weird way. He gave me my English muffin first. Then he brought our drinks. Then after I finished my English muffin he brought my friend's sandwich. At that point I thought he had forgotten about my croissant order but to my surprise he brought it well after my friend had finished his sandwich already. I asked him for the check a few times and he never heard me, until he eventually brought it later. The English muffin itself was extremely good. Though a small portion, it was one of the best I've ever had. As was the buttery croissant which melted in my mouth. The prices, however, were a bit excessive and the whole experience didn't seem worth it.

London Wine Week: Villandry, St James's Street - If you have not heard, it is London Wine Week from 18th May - 24th May. To participate in the wining and dining scene with London Wine Week (LWW), buy a wristband for GBP 10.00 and you will get a free London bar guide, GBP 5.00 wine taste flights in participating wine bars, bespoke discounts in restaurants which include a small dish paired with wine and with independent merchants there are a series of wine tastings, masterclasses, meet the maker sessions and discounts on bottles of wine. Gladly, my introduction was with Villandry at St James Street. This is also available at their Great Portland Street branch. Villandry's offer: 3 chorizo sliders and a wine flight - GBP 15.00 3 mini fishcakes and a wine flight - GBP 10.00 a dish of salt and pepper squid and a wine flight - GBP 10.00 Villandry's wine flight offers four types of wine by Adi Badenhorst; two white and two red from the Secateur and Family (a blend with over a dozen grapes) blend range. The chorizo sliders were delicious, slightly spicy but mildly tamed by the mayonnaise spread. Three of them were plentiful and at GBP 15.00, it was definitely a bargain. With more than 100 venues across London participating in the LWW, it is time to make a strategic planning for your wine tasting week!

Smoked salmon with capers and quail eggs. Absolutely delicious!

Great food, nice atmosphere. The service was a little slow but well worth the wait. Each dish was better than we expected.

I started with the Camembert Frit (Camembert cheese coated in breadcrumbs, fried, and served with redcurrant and raspberry coulis). This was delicious! The cheese paired so well with the raspberry coulis and it was no greasy at all (perfectly fried). For my main course, I got the Steak d'Agneau au Romarin Grilled lamb steak with red wine & rosemary sauce (served with sautéed potatoes). This was delicious as well! The lamb steak was so tender and flavorful and the sauce went so well with it. The potatoes also went very well with the lamb. I have also had their Filets de Cabillaud Rôti (baked cod fillets with sun-dried tomato and cream sauce), served with leek and potato mash. This was excellent! The cod was so fresh and the sauce was to-die-for! I could have licked all of the sauce off of my plate (if it were socially acceptable haha). The sauce was so fresh and paired so well with the fish. The potato mash was also fantastic--perfect texture. For dessert, I had a rhubarb tart. This was delicious! I loved how the tart wasn't too sweet and I could really taste the rhubarb. The service was also excellent. The servers and managers were very attentive and considerate of my husband's allergies. They were super accommodating, which is the reason we came back again! The have a great price for their prixe fixe menu. I would definitely recommend this restaurant! In a nut shell, great service, excellent food, fair prices and great ambience!

The Food: We did the Valentine's set menu, and a fair warning: it creeps up on you! Every course is delicious, but by the time dessert arrived, we were absolutely stuffed. Even if you aren't typically a seafood fan, give it a chance here. The dishes are incredibly approachable, well-balanced, and clearly had a lot of thought put into the flavors. The Vibe & Dress Code: The atmosphere is unmatched, but learn from our mistake! We spent the day exploring Covent Garden and didn't have time to head back and change. You definitely want to dress smart-professional to match the elegance of the restaurant. We felt a little underdressed for the level of experience they provide! Summary: Romantic, delicious, and worth every penny. Just dress up and come hungry!

Given how difficult it was to get a seat, I would have liked to have been seated in the main dining room with the more impressive array of decorations, but my tiny table tucked away in a corner near the entrance wasn't all bad; decorations were still plentiful, and I didn't feel in the way of passing traffic. With the food, you get what you pay for; which may not be as much as you might think given the "poshness" of the place. Without booze, you shouldn't end up paying more than £50pp. The menu has an array of seasonal favorites like Hertfordshire Beef with a red wine jus, roast chicken with leeks and girolle mushrooms, and seasbass with Autumn vegetables. Seasonal desserts are also available and the booze is seemingly never-ending. You can never go wrong with the chicken here, regardless of season, and with a seasoned sommelier always on-hand, rest assured all your wine pairing needs will be met. The beef and venison dishes are also superb, with both light and hearty sides to compliment them perfectly. Dessert can be a hit or miss. I didn't like my first experience here with the Delice, but my second experience was a delicious poached pear with a superb buckwheat ice cream and buckwheat-infused biscuit. I paired mine with the recommended Bordeaux wine to wash down the sweetness, and let me tell you, it was an extra £14 well spent. Overall, this isn't the type of place you visit every week, or even every month, but it's definitely worth planning months in advance to come during the hholiday season. Reservations are a MUST.

I think every American mother/daughter duo was checking this place out for lunch or high tea. We did this over the more pricey high tea, but that certainly looked like a good time as well. That dining room was gorgeous. The food was pretty good. Nothing that absolutely blew my socks off, except for the strawberry dessert. Everything was certainly well done, though.
