Best tailor in RVA bare none. Whether it's alterations on a suit, jacket or dress or something different like my son's basketball pants that were too big, Sal at Vincent's is the best. My son goes to Benedictine so even things like sewing a name tag onto a uniform is a piece of cake. Could not recommend this business more! read more

I've been going to Vincent's for at least 5 years. Mostly tailoring of suits, sports coats, and slacks. Recently added shirts as I've lost some weight and the "off the rack" tailoring just doesn't do it anymore. Very old-school layout at the top of the stairs in the Libbie-Grove area, but the folks are always nice, professional, fairly priced, and timely on getting my clothes back to me. I live in the Oakwood-Chimborazo area of Richmond and would not take my tailoring to anyone else. Highly recommended. read more

i was excited because they were able to do a quick hem on a dress for me to wear as a guest to my nieces wedding. i get there to try it on and it was as if she hadn't done anything (she was supposed to take 3 inches off). but i needed it the next day so i couldn't do anything about it. she days to me ..you just need to wear a higher heel...i had the same boots on that i wore when she measured!!!!! so no! i didnt want to wear higher heels! disappointed is an understatement! then when she rang me up...she charged me 75.00 to supposedly hem 1 freaking layer ....1 layer!!!!! and it didnt even seem it was done ...i stepped on it all night at the wedding! i will never go here again! read more

I recently had some trousers taken in. I was so impressed with the gentleman who assisted me. He took his time to measure each trouser with me wearing them. I would never take any garment to any other place other than Vincent's. Suits, shirts, dresses, jeans, all perfect. Super friendly staff.

I went into this business today and the first thing I heard from an employee was "wow you waited until the last minute to come here." That was very off-putting to me. After getting past that and doing a fitting, they were much more professional. However, the biggest drawback was that they were not real familiar or comfortable with tailoring a suit to slim fit. They even expressed that they were not use to fitting a suit in such a manner. So if you are looking for a more updated look, I would go elsewhere. If you are simply looking for a simple business fit, I think these guys can get the job done. read more

I have had nothing but good experiences here. There is an older man I assume is the owner, and he is blunt, but his assessments are spot-on, which is what you want from a tailor: Don't flatter me, just make it fit. The younger people who have helped me do not convey the same sense of assurance; they seem more concerned with making me happy than making things fit. I'm torn on this. I am more comfortable in the moment with the young fitters, but in the long run I am more comfortable with the older guy who tells me I'm fat. read more

Friends raved about this place (entrusted them a World War II Army suit no less), so I trekked there with a dress I needed for a wedding in a few weeks. I was in and out, they were very accommodating, and said it would be ready in about 10 days. Perfect. Ten days later, I'm running from a doctor's appointment but really need to pick up the dress for the wedding. Vincent's is only open til 5:30, and I was dashing up the sidewalk literally at 5:29 and saw them locking up shop. The two gentlemen saw my distress and not only let me in and found the dress (I had faith enough in them that I didn't try it on, and yes, it fit perfectly), but they told me to just come back as soon as I could to pay for it since they'd closed up the accounts. Who says customer service is dead? I'm heading back today to pay up and drop off another dress... I plan on picking it up a good month before I need it. ;-) read more

This place is a little expensive for certain alterations on women's clothing, but they do a GREAT job, and they do it pretty quickly.

Have been using these guys to alter off the rack suits, jackets and slacks for the last five years. Great work. Fast turnaround. You're not paying for the frills. This place is dated. But that's good. You're just paying for the work. Great if you know how you like your clothes to fit. They'll listen and make alterations to your wishes. They don't force you into doing anything too trim or boxy for your style like more opinionated tailors who push their idea of a good fit (either old school loose fitting or contemporary slim fit) on everyone. These guys will do what you ask. Just know what you want. I don't know why they don't have more reviews. They're always busy, but I've noticed many clients are older (I'm under 30) and may not be Yelp users. read more

Hands down the worst customer service I have ever had. As soon as I stepped out of the dressing room to look at myself in the mirror, to could figure out exactly what needed to be done the seamstress, without hesitation says, "Hurry up, I don't have all day". I almost left right there and then. I seriously could not believe how ill mannered and unprofessional this woman was. She then begins to argue me that she can't take in the strap, to make the dresser tighter, and as she proceeds to go about other pinning that didn't fix the problem - I said I was going to go somewhere else if she couldn't fix the actual problem, only then does she take in the strap. After that, she began to hem the dress and it was about an inch off the floor and without shoes! and asks me if I like it while she tries to stretch the dress down to the floor to make it appear as if it were the right length. I will never go back to this place and not to mention the shop is set up very oddly and makes you feel uncomfortable as soon as you step in. Not sure how this place even stays in business. read more
