From micromanagement and lack of integrity to extreme rudeness in the administration office, they fail in multiple areas. They neglect the school, as demonstrated when a tree branch nearly harmed some kids, and allow parents to drive recklessly in the mornings. Meanwhile, gatekeepers keep children waiting at the gate for 10 minutes if they're just one minute late. This school is a complete mess.

If a child does not respect an adult the child will let people know. Well, this teacher decided it was a good idea to be-little my kid in a class dojo app. Which the other parents, of the other kids, can see the videos. So naturally, the parents started to complain. My kid was specifically targeted to show how she would miss behave and made and example of to the other students. (If thats not a lawsuit idk what is but thats another story.) Even though I specifically said call me if you need my help and gave my personal phone number. I would open the app and sure enough. My kid was miss behaving. Only a handful of times do I remember being a positive post. Mind you this is a 5yr old. A 5 yr old who knows nothing about school but shes expected to know from the get-go. A 5yr old whom just started kindergarten. Kinder! It suppose to be fun and do arts and crafts as well as see baby chicks hatch.... but there was none of that. For a mom, its hard enough to send your kid to school much less dealing with incompetence. So, I pulled her out. It was the best decision I ever made. Now she goes to a charter school and is reading on her own and writing on her own. Shes also doing a bit of addition and subtraction. As well as learning spanish on the side. Yet, shes still a kid and not a robot. The school system is not like it was before and the teachers union is ruineing everything. Its not about the kids anymore but the cushy paying job. If teacher would be held accountable for the students grades things would be a lot different.

This disgusting disregard for the emotional wellbeing of their students directly shows their "christian" values. The teachers are funny, witty, and understanding. They have three magnet programs: performing arts, math and science, and medical. Their jazz choir is unbeatable and their volleyball games are through the roof. My cousin will definitely never forget her years here. We both enjoyed the many things Van Nuys had to offer. We also had fireworks at our graduation.

Mr.Doctor teaches history and he is very knowledgeable and helps his students succeed. My issues with the school started in 11th grade in the middle of the year before the pandemic. I was not permitted to join the dance company despite having a rudamentary knowledge of hip hop. This crushed me since I entered in the school specifically to the performing magnet arts program and that did not work out. There was an insane amount of discrimination and bullying going on behind closed doors and when it was brought to the staff's attention more specifically Mrs.Arana she did nothing about it. I experienced the worst cyberbullying and bullying from the kids while it attendance to this school that I'm now 23 years old and I still recall stuff that went on. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. Do not send your kid here. I would recieve an endless amount of death threats, abelist comments on my former youtube channel, and a lot of people were targetting me because of my religion so I feel discriminated against. Making fun of my religion and sending me death threats is not the way anybody should spend their high school years. I know high school is bad but it does not have to be that bad if you choose the correct school. The students are insanely historically not informed and some of the comments they made towards me behind closed doors are disgusting, nobody should ever be spoken to the way that I was. In response to telling Miss Arana that I was being targeted for being Jewish, she said "there are conflicts in the middle East." NO! We are in Los Angeles and this is her school and this is what people are writing to me here and now, so I felt like she could have done more to take care of it. At the time there was even a "tea page" on instagram where there was a lot of cyberbullying. There were maybe 50 or so posts about me on there and I didn't really have any friends at the school so it was very unfair to me what was going on.

As we get ready to wrap up another school year, I wanted to take a moment to boast about this…read morewonderful school. Our 3 kids attended a different Catholic school, and in 2008, we decided they weren't receiving the education they and we, as parents, felt they deserved. Well, they are getting it now! My eldest graduated St. Charles and entered high school with honors. Our two other kids are thriving as well, and when they slip a bit, the teachers are always willing to work with them to get them back on track! And its nice to know that the morals and values taught at home are extended in the teaching at St. Charles. But perhaps the best part of switching to St. Charles is when our kids actually THANKED us for sending them here! LOL..yep, that's the truth!
